RIP Andy Fletcher. My university years were filled with DM music and most of the songs are linked to very specific memorable occasions and events. For all of us it is really just a question of time.
He was a Great creator the one that made it all come together

*Timeless.* Exactly.
I find Andrew's sense of personal human intimacy is something on a deep level that can only be felt from the music. I will admit, I don't know the group that much, but when I heard he died, that's when the binge started..

Depeche Mode is such a great band and so underrestimated amongst rock bands. What started as an electric pop band really evolved in one of the great rock bands of the last decades. And my God yes what a singular and great voice. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. Always and forever, thank you to Great Britain and the British people whose creativity, since the 1960s, has given the rest of the World hundreds of unique bands such as the Depeche Mode and music of unparalleled beauty, quirkiness and atmosphere. Yes the best British music has the most beauty, quirkiness and darkness of all music, you hit nail on head there💯
Absolutely 🔥
At the beginning of the video of "A Question of Time", Alan appears alone and it is he who receives the baby. Because he was the only one to arrive on time. There was a show the night before, and the band did not arrive until late, so in the morning Anton recorded Alan. It was supposed to be Dave.
No surprise. It shows how organised and reliable Alan was. Shame on the rest of the guys.
So... it was a question of time?
Their sense of rhythm on these early songs always left you breathless.
This band is timeless. I could listen to them all the time.

I love how EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF FOOTAGE IS EXQUISITELY AND PURPOSELY FRAMED ACCORDING TO THE GOLDEN MEAN. Anton Corbijn isn’t so much of a cinematographer and director but a painter or moving images. BRILLIANT MATCH WITH DEPECHE MODE
