Everyone prolly have more money than you because you procrastinate a lot. If you take your life seriously, you will see a permanent improvement. I began regularly at 38. I currently have over $3 million in my retirement account at the age of 51. I always rely on my CFP, but starting late is my one regret. Even though those extra years might not seem like much, I value them greatly.

ME It's been 2 years since I've heard that fisherman story and it changed my outlook quite a bit. I heard it at some philosophy channel, and since then my dream life looks a lot easier to attain at 30, since I don't need too much in excesses. Though I am still a teenager and am living with my parents so estimating the actual money cost of my dream life is kinda tricky right now.

As I'm 56, and my life hasn't went all that well, as I've have had difficulty with my mental health, all my adult life, and difficulty with finding employment, the question should be, if I could live my life again, without the considerable adversity that I've experienced, would I prefer a career that's more about being of service to the community, than a high salary. Most of we Bhartiyas can speak 2- languages. If not able to speak, at least we are able to understand it because of our govt's policy.. English, Hindi and local language.

Regarding the story of the fisherman and the banker. The fisherman is right. Why work like a dog now, and sacrifice time being with friends and family and maybe enjoy life later, if you'll be healthy enough, when you don't have to work hard at all get enough for what you need, and enjoy life now. The fisherman has his priorities straight. The banker's mentality, is what is wrong with the world.
Unfortunately it's a trap many of us fall into.
So is i work 6 12 hours days a week, so am i an average of my coworkers? I have little time to hang out
