Doug Demuro rated the Terminator Cobra as the best value as of last year. Motor rated up to 1000 horsepower on stock internals. Just a simple FBO and tune gets it up to around 500WHP. And almost a thousand pounds lighter than the hellcat. 😸
35k for a clean one and that will get you the faster and better in almost every way c6 zo6.
If I'm going to snag a Fox body Mustang to beat a Hellcat, I'm hunting for a 1986 Mustang SVO. Not a lot of power out of the engine (2.3l four banger) but it comes turbocharged stock, and I've seen people get at least 500 horses out of them.
The svo is gonna have stupid prices attached to it. You could get the same engine in a non svo for practically free. Seriously 4 banger foxbodies aren’t worth their weight in scrap
@ThatGamerGuy Fair point, and the 2.3 is pretty much found everywhere now thanks to Ford/Mazda. A solid SVO body would be the tricky part.
I would have loved to see the IS300 on that list they come with the 2JZ naturally-aspirated engine they're internals aren't as strong as the Supra Mark 4 but they can still take a beating it's a four-door what style that cangap a lot of cars if you do it right for pretty cheap

C6 LS7 big cam no supercharger necessary will beat a dodge demon. There are naturally aspirated LS7 making 750WHP. Some guy made 900+hp naturally aspirated.
And that's with the engine not struggling alot because it's a good ol 7.0 liters

I can tell you for a fact, you're not picking up a Shelby for that cheap. The old SVT cobras (SN95) are rarely under $20k, terminators are always $30k+ and Shelbys are usually $40k+. Show me a Shelby for $25k and I'll buy it right now!

Idk where you are but I checked car gurus and yeah there are several under 100k miles that are in the 20-30k range. I even found a 2011 with 18k miles at 36k... looks like a great deal but I can't afford it 😢
The ones under 30 are mostly 07-10, but the 11-13s can definitely be found in the 30s
I've bought a HCI FBO C6Z for $15k with a rebuilt title. Valve dropped title but but now fixed. Fastest all around car I've had the opportunity to drive.....even a Forza tuned stage 4 Hellcat.
My favourite is a fox body with an Aussie Barra swap or and other Barra swap in any other body ! Then cranked up to 1000plus Hp Or a 2jz or Rb 20 Rb 25 Rb 26 Rb30 (or any mix even stroked 3.2 or billet block ) powered car turned up We have 6 second RB powered street cars in Australia! Real street!

@@FecalMattur facts. Except the only Fords I've known to have issues are the FWD or AWD that are FWD based. Rear wheel drive Fords seem to be almost as reliable as Hondas and Toyotas, in my experience. I had a few Fords that were actually more reliable than a couple Hondas I've had. Don't buy a Prelude unless you're gonna K swap it, just don't do it.
The new balances add 10hp
Build tf out of a 5.7 Hemi and of course get it in manual. There is even a conversion kit to get the Hellcat supercharger onto the 5.7. In fact a lot of parts are interchangeable, and the Tremec (TR 6060) 6 speed is a phenomenal transmission and the same one used from R/T, to SRT/Scat Pack, all the way to Hellcat and Viper.. one of the best on the market. Or you could just still get that 5.7 and put 2 Hong Kong hurricanes on it. If you have the money to forge the internals on the 6.4 Apache motor, that wouldn't be a bad route to go either to throw forced induction on.. but you ABSOLUTELY have to replace some parts within before slapping in turbos, supercharger, or nitrous on that one.

You have to treat these other cars the same as the hellcat though 😁 a hellcat isn't 100k until after markup. A gt500 is only cheaper on the window sticker.
Shelby gt500 Auto 10 speed smokes a hellcat from the factory.

Its really more about who has newer drag radials. If hellcat guy can only afford nittos but you have michelin cups, you could win with even less car.

I'm speaking from experience. I have a stage 2 procharger on my stock block 2015. 3 inch catback and a tune 650 whp. I ve beat hellcat redeye with that set up

This video is extremely misleading. It’s not hard to beat a hellcat in a straight line. They make about 600ish whp. Drive train loss on hellcats is exponential compared to most other competing cars. A 10r80 S550 with FBO/Tune can beat a hellcat. Supercharged Gen 1 coyote, whether it be an MT82 or a 6R, will beat a hellcat, even something as simple as a stock internal B18/LSV on 12-15psi will beat a hellcat. It’s not difficult or expensive

Lol. Yes an LS7 will make 1000hp sbe but it won't be for very long. Better off picking up a C6 GS or Base with and LS3 and boosting it. Also a C6z will walk a hellcat with heads, cam and bolt ons.
