Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandtractorspares.co...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you dont see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advise at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

  • Nice one Lance. I used to love doing these for the apprentices to show how easy it was. It’s a great example of expansion and contraction as they were usually convinced there should be something else holding it on to the flywheel. 👍

  • I always thought the best way was to slightly heat the ring gear before installing it but not with it on he flywheel which will heat up and expand also, same as an automotive fly wheel. Of course I am sure he has installed more than me.

    • The heat is concentrated on the ring gear and not the flywheel mass. The flywheel can still be handled easily.

  • I was thinking about putting my flywheel in the freezer and putting the ring gear on the BBQ and see how easily it would drop over the flywheel lol

    • Worth a try if you have the gear available.

  • My '55 TEA20 has a flywheel with no lip and ring gear has moved between the 3 mounting bolts. Do you know when change was made to having lip on flywheel as looks like mine has been changed for some reason.

    • I was taught when I was an apprentice to put your thumb underneath the lever just so no one could walk past and push it down on you.
