Recently we went to Dream Interior Design to get started on the Legacy's interior and tackle the largest piece first, the headliner. Having a wagon the headliner is a huge single piece and requires a ton of Alcantara. Watch as DID gets rid of the crappy stock headliner and creates a super car look a like ;)

Bro if you’re gonna upload a video on the headliner installation then you should include details. For example, what thickness foam you guys went with and what type. Also where we can buy the materials to do it ourselves. Most of your views are from guys that want to do the same thing to their cars.

For all the guys asking what kind of foam was used: I used 1/4 inch thick volara sculpting foam. It can easily be found using a Google search. This guy is probably the same type of person that keeps wheel specs to himself...

Why doesn't everyone use open cell Melamine foam for sound attenuation? I've always wanted to come up some kind of sculpted head liner board design with an open cell back board to place 3M Thinsulate behind it for maximum interior sound absorbtion. I'm sure someone has done this.......I wonder how Bentley, Rolls, Maybach & other high dollar cars make their HiTech headliners?????
Glad to see this get done right, I've done several over the years and have had to redo some that other people did and screwed up. I've fiberglassed several as well.

How come my alcantara on my door cards has sagged just one week since the material was applied over the old panel? It was stuck down nice but now it's come away and sagging

Old video but anybody know where to find Alcantara this wide? All the Alcantara rolls ove found are a few inches shy of what I need. Need small dimension to be at least 62 inches.
And that my friends is close to $400 worth of Alcantara. Best know what your doing.

Either. It's sold with backing, without, or foam backed. A 2 second google.would tell you.

The fabric is $130 a yard (for ACTUAL Alcantara, not shitty cheap foam) 400ish labor

Iv been told by my upholsterer that Alcantara shouldn't be done to a roof because its too hard and wont stretch properly. Does this mean his got no idear how to do it or is there some truth to this?

Just a suggestion: stop with the caffeine, get a gimbal, or fix the frame/s in post. The shaking is atrocious 🤪🤢 However, a nice and concise overview of how this is done 👍🏼

I am curious why is it so hard to find a midnight green and/or a dark shade of green headliner fabric for my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT VHO. Dude I paid I guy to do my Mercedes and it looks HORRIBLE! Shit is poofy and he tells me that’s the only foam that’s available??? Factory Mercedes feels like it doesn’t have any foam. It’s firm and not spongy.
