  • EDU is a passport to life. Encourage people to learn. Learn and then use your knowledge to share with others. That is a way to improve your community. There are philanthropists who happened to be in the minority group, who do care about other people, but, we don't hear much about them. We just need more stories like this to encourage more to see more. The only way to make this nation better is you. If you make yourself better, if everyone make themselves better, this society will be better.

This is so because we continue to face inequalities in economy and social status on a daily basis over the years and it will still continue to happen if nothing is addressed. We cannot rely on Government to care to do these things that they are responsible for because they will not care until election season when they need our votes. 😮😢😢100 💯

  • Show me the state of their home gardens and I can tell if they are really serious about food insecurity. Right--there are no home gardens and nobody is using their resources to buy staples online to be delivered. You can buy bulk beans, oatmeal, sugar, flour, rice, canned tomatoes, vegetable oil, spices, yeast, salt, canned vegetables, and vegetable seeds from Walmart using EBT or a debtit card, and have it delivered by mail for free. You can buy canned salmon, and canned chicken. You can trade with a neighbor for a ride to a grocery store farther away and load up on onions, carrots, celery, cabbage, greens, whole chicken, apples, lemons, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and them come home and cook from scratch. After cooking you can institute PORTION CONTROL in your household to be sure everyon received good nutrition and maintains a healthy weight. We do it on $1 a day per person. We could spend more but choose not to.

Where is the community organization to help each other get to a grocery store farther away? I'd like to see families in the kitchen using what they do have to make healthy, nutritious meals and discussing portion control. Sometimes I think this is all about having a Twinkie in every Cupboard, rather than a chicken in every pot.
