  • I love how so many different teams, different nations, different tactics got to dominate European football in different eras. The British, the Dutch, the Spanish, the Germans, the Portuguese, the Italians etc. All have their own eras of domination

I feel like Germany can be an excellent counter attacking team if they sit back on mid to low block. Germans love size and physicality. • It seems like German football stands for a lot of things that don't have essentially to do with the skills on the ball itself. Defensive thinking, high pressing, high intensity and tactical variability are all seperated ideas apart from the quality of the players with the ball. RB Leipzig is the best example for this. They display all those above mentioned qualities except for technical good football. They show how far you can get without having a lot of individual class. You get far but not to the end. Therefore I think German managers put the individual quality of their players not in one of the first three columns. It's a nice to have but not necessarily needed attribute. And this sounds strange to me. I agree that you also need the other components BUT the individual quality of the players should also rank really high !
