Thank God! When I think about the Lord, listen to anointed preaching, read the bible, sing, pray, worship, or pray, I start to speak in tongues. It is good to do as much as possible to build up the inner man and fight spiritual battles.

What could be more supernatural than at age 77 and after moving from place to place over/about 50 times in my life, moving from San Francisco to Seattle, To Chicago, to a huge house that is stuffed to overflowing now, that somehow I have boxes and boxes and boxes of documents that are evidence of where I went, who I knew, and in some instances, how I spent money? What could be more evidence that GOD had a plan and has a plan for my life. And I’m just one of all humanity! What a mighty GOD we serve!’!

I have been speaking in Tongues for 6 years it is a gift from God!! Don't let people say that the gifts of Holy Spirit are not for today. God bless!!
I was baptised in the Holy Spirit when many years ago in 1983, I went up to the alter, as many did back then, at the end of a service to pray intently or for prayer or to pray for someone. I took a troubled friend in our fellowship up to pray for her and pray together. We knelt there together talking to our Saviour. After a long while I found that all I wanted was to praise Him, and to focus on His face, closely on the face of Jesus, which I could see in my mind eye or spirit. His face was lit up and bright, glowing. So I focused all my attention on Jesus and did not want to take my full focus or eyes off from Him, no matter how awesome and powerful He was. (Sometimes, we can feel the fear of the Lord more acutely and look down and fall at His feet.) This time I had was seeking His face. I wanted to get as close to Him as I could and look at Him, because I love Him. He is my Saviour who loved me and took my place on the cross. Then I started feeling His beautiful warm golden light, the Holy Spirit being pour into me. I lost all sence of my body, feeling like I was suspended, or floating. I felt the most incredible warm bright glowing light of powerful love surround me and pour into me and fill me completely to overflow. A true baptism in the Holy Spirit: bathed and filled till overflow. I kept praising and worshipping Him while the golden warm light of love, the Holy Spirit filling, as I said, to overflow, till it flowed out of my mouth in another language! I was baptised in the Holy Spirit. That night, soon after a small group of us stood together, about four or five in all. And I shared what happened and we stood together thanking and praising God. And it turned into sing in the Holy Spirit. Beautiful voices and harmony flowed from our hearts and mouths. We sounded like angels!! It was very beautiful. I had felt the warm glowing liquid of the Holy Spirit pour into me years earlier when I became saved in 1976. At that time I did not speak in tongues. I was suffering and was deeply troubled and could not stop shaking or crying. I could not see a light at the end of the tunnel. I was being emotionally and physically abused at the time. I was 16 years old. I didn't want to live any more, I felt I couldn't get away from the heartache and suffering. I had always loved Jesus as a child. Even though my family weren't Christian. I went to Catholic schools, but they are not why I loved Jesus. I loved Him period. I always felt Him come to me and we would talk in my heart about my home life and He would make me feel better. I loved Him so much and always wanted Him to hug me. Well at 16 in a terrible state, curled up tightly and not able to stop shaking uncontrollably and weeping, I asked Jesus to hug me. While there in the dark, I suddenly felt His big warm arms around me; holding me as if I was a baby. It felt like He lifted me right off the bed, though I don't think I did lift off the bed, but I felt the weightlessness. His warm glowing golden light poured into me and I immediately stopped crying and shaking. Immediately I had no more fear or desire to die. All that melted away in His love. I wanted to live and I felt such peace. It was just as the scripture says about the peace of God. It is different than from regular peace, that is explanable and is a result of circumstances or where you are, such as by a peaceful brook. The peace of God is different. This scripture explains it perfect: Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." His peace is given and experienced when we should not be feeling peace. As a Christian, when in troubling and or stressfull circumstances, He will give me His supernatural peace. Other Christions have testified the same. It seems to be a constant gift from God as a Christian. No matter what is going on, deep inside we feel His peace and know we will be alright, because we have the Lord. Well at 16 all my shaking and crying stopped instantly. The Holy Spirit filled me full of the most incredible love one could ever feel, as well as peace and Joy. A joy which seems to be as supernatural as His peace. He gives us an inner joy, even in troubled times. I felt peace and joy. And I wanted to live. I knew I would be fine, because it no longer mattered who did not love me, because GOD LOVED ME, MY JESUS CHRIST! I later learned that I had became Born Again of His Spirit. I was different, everything was different. I could see more beauty in things. Even the leaves on the trees looked more beautiful. I understood more, like puzzle pieces caming together and I understood people better. I was very different. At that that time, I did not know the Word of God. I didn't know about being Born Again. I just knew that warm golden love I felt was from God, His love for me. I know now this Love was His precious Holy Spirit, God, who is love, poured into me. And then eight years later, I felt the same Holy Spirit pour into me to overflow. God is love. Having the Holy Spirit is the only way to serve God in His gifts, in His power. I am now a Christian missionary in Ireland for now nearly 31 years, with my wonderful husband and our beautiful family He has gifted us with. He has never left me or forsaken me. He has been with me my whole life. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Jesus is coming very soon. Spread the Gospel, the Good News of Salvation that can be found ONLY THROUGH CHRIST JESUS! to bring in the last of His harvest. Oh, I must tell you, the one I suffered abuse by all those years ago, is now a Born Again Christian. And I have loved this person my whole life. Jesus has saved him/her. Praise God! Thank you Lord, Hallelujah! We must forgive. And He forgives us. And forgiveness brings about healing. God is GOOD! Amen Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." 1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me."

@@allenp2011 Dearest Brother or Sister, I will be glad to answer your question. It is a good question. The first I should point out is, that scripture shows us in Acts 2:4, Acts 19:6, Mark 16:17, and more, that at the time of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the 3rd person of God, the person being baptised will speak in tongues. The tongues may be loud and clear, or quiet or even a whisper, may be many words or few, or even in song. It depends on each individual and their experience, But the initial evidence of the Holy Spirit Baptism is tongues. But not everyone will be given the gifts of tongues. A person may never speak tongues again. Many people say tongues are for every believer, but the scripture doesn't seem to back that up. The apostle Paul says this in 1 (Corinthians 14:5) "I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy." First of all, at the Holy Spirit Baptism, the Lord blesses each with gifts of the Holy Spirit, (though they take awhile for all to manifest over time). There is a list of the gifts found here (.1 Corinthians 12:4-11) There are two kinds of tongue gifts. Though in the list, it mentions one of them. God gives the gifts. In the description and list of miraculous gifts, Paul says, "To one is given...to another is given etc. People often have been given more than one gift of the Spirit. There is also something called the fruit of the Spirit which is different from gifts of the Spirit. The fruit, or aspects and qualities of a Christian person's life that the Holy Spirit has produced in them and has blossomed in their life. At the time of salvation, when a person believes in Jesus, accepts Christ as Saviour and believing He is the Son of God, and calls on the name of the Lord, the person becomes Born Again of the Spirit of God. They are transformed through a SPIRITUAL birth. Being born again; rather, having been begotten again. Not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. Then the incorruptible seed is the Holy Spirit of God, the Source of all spiritual life; it is the Spirit that "beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God;" When we become Born again, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in the believer. They are sealed with Holy Spirit of promice. (Ephesians 1:13) The believer's body becomes the Temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19) The baptism of the Holy Spirit is as Jesus decribed it as: "clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:49) "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses.....: (Acts 1:8) That was on the day of Penticost when the Holy Spirit was first poured out. We all must remember, that the Holy Spirit baptism is to empower His children with the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses, to speak boldly the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with power! On the day of Penticost, when Holy Spirit fell and filled them all, Peter and the other disciples spoke with such power, that 3000 people were added to their number! He is also our Comforter, He teaches, makes us to recall the Lord's words, to empower us to work miracles, and He gifts us with miraculous gifts of the Spirit to serve God. Many people have the misconception that the Holy Spirit baptism is so they may speak in tongues. One may not receive that gift and never speak in tongues again. There are differing types of tongues. There are prayer tongues that the apostle Paul calls "tongues of angels.." 1Corinthians 13:1. With prayer tongues the believer is praying to God supernatualy, but we don't know exactly what is said. But I get a feeling of blessing from what is being said. It's hard to explain. It edifies the person praying. We may not find out exactly what is happening with prayer tongues. But we know it is the Holy Spirit praying through us. The Bible does say, pray in the Spirit and in understaning. It is then important to pray in the Spirit if one has the gift. I have heard some TV preachers and teachers try to force the baptism by saying : just start speaking. (Sometimes, when you feel the Holy Spirit is being poured or filling you, by starting to speak, you open your mouth to start to speak and the Holy Spirit takes over and true tongues come forth.) But I have seen people being told, "just start speaking", and what you get is someone trying to speak in tongues, and is a fake tongues. Such as a repeated da da da da da ka ka ka. That is not the true tongues I know of. But I have heard this da da da from many people and they think its tongues, but may well be of the flesh. I hope I am not wrong and have spoken wrongly here.( forgive me Lord If I have spoken wrongly). I must say, with the gift of discernment God gives, I can say, it just doesn't feel right. And from false teachers, I have heard demonic tongues. When you feel the Holy Spirit filling you, rising up, and you feel an urge to speak, then speak, praise the Lord! If you speak in tongues you will know it. It flows smoothly and it is a real language, a real complex language. Sometimes it can change to different languages at different times. Having the prayer tongue and the gift of prophetic tongues, are different. The tongues spoken in a fellowship or prayer meeting, that is followed with an interpretation seem different from prayer tongues. The gift of tongues, that needs interpretation, comes fourth more boldly and louder, and one can tell it is the Lord speaking to the people. It doesn't drag on and on. He gives you what to say, it flows out easily and in boldness. You can here the Lord's compassion or even firmness or rebuke come through the tone of the message. Then it ends naturally as any statement would. If by chance a message is given and no one gives an interpretation, then pray. The speaker should ask the Lord to give you the interpretation. I have found that when it has happened to me, the Lord is gracious and gives me the interpretation. The person always has control to speak or not to speak. "The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.(1 Corinthians 14:32) That way if there is more than one measage from different speakers it can be done in an orderly fashion and not all at once. Read 1 Corinthians chapter 14, about orderly worship. There is also the gift of tongues that seems more rare but does happen. A person will talk and or witness to someone that doesn't speak their language. So the Lord speaks through the Christiian, in the language the other person speaks. Here the Lord is conversing with this person in his own language. It is much like on the day of Penticost, the multitudes were hearing the disciples speaken in their own tongue. There were many from other nations and languages there for Penticost. It was God's perfect timing. Then those who were saved that day many went back to their own lands and shared the gospel. One must be very careful not to seek and desire the Baptism to recieve tongues or any other gift. Because you will be seeking it for the wrong reason; seeking the gift instead of the giver. Most likely your faux pas will delay you being baptised by the Holy Spirit. You must seek the Lord, because you love Him, want to worship and serve Him, to bring Him glory. I once knew a woman who was desperate to have the baptism so she could speak in tongues. She focused so much on this, that she'd even seek out recordings of someone speaking in tongues just to listen. It seemed the tongues were more important to her than seeking her Saviour. It was many years ago and the last thing I knew, she still hadn't been baptised. I will close with something Paul wrote, that is good for all of us to remember! (1 Corinthian 14:1-4) EARNESTLY PURSUE LOVE and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 2For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement, and comfort. 4The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.: Please read all of 1 Corinthians, you will learn a lot about gifts of the Spirit. I have written a lot, but I felt somehow in my spirit I should give you all this information. God bless you, and I hope I answered your question adequately for you. (1 Corinthians 2:2) "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal"

I remember at a church warehouse many years ago , they had a prayer meeting before the main service ,it happened to be in a large upper room as well, the prayer meeting was loud in tongues, people began to feel more comfortable when the others spoke louder, the old couple leading were taking authority over things and we all joined in and let our hearts go way beyond. The meeting grew and grew in size and there wasn't enough room after a while , the stairs were filled with people praying, almost the whole congregation ended up at that prayer meeting, there was some powerful praying in the Spirit those days. God exposed a lot of things in prayer, but the most important things was we learned to speak loud and clearly we lost all embarrassment of our selves and we knew we had got through to Almighty God.

He just speaks it with no carnal show of the flesh to dress it up or make it into a show for entertainment as some TV preachers do. I have been saved since 1975. I am a missionary with my husband and we are finishing 31 years in the land of our calling. I recieved education in a Bible collage and discipled by a wonderful Pastor, yet I can tell you in these past few years since I found Derik Prince, the Lord has blessed me with even more understanding of His Word. One trustworthy fact with God: we never stop learning or receiving revelation from His Word. It is Living Word and powerful! We are in the last days and I feel this will be a time of much growth. A time when our Lord will speed up our education, and working to finish growing His children. He is the Author and Perfector (or finisher) of our faith. Preparing us for our positions in eternity. As well as being the Bride of Lord Jesus Christ, we are fellow heirs with Him. During this time in these last days, our focus should be vertical and on Christ alone, not horizontal. We are not to focus on the world and its strife around us but, on Him alone and on His Word, the Holy Bible. Let Him guide us to where He wants us to go, where to minister or to what we're to do and say. We're to move totally under the Holy Spirit's guidance and bring in the last of the harvest. We are NOT to lean on our own uderstanding, but to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. Even when our understanding and reasoning of a situation seems right. It may be right in our eyes, but not what God wants us to do. There is much work to do to bring in the lost, especially when the world, or shall I say the enemy has put up obvious obstacles. The Lord knows all that is happening. Nothing happens without His knowledge. God can do all things and His will is always accomplished. (Isaiah 55:11) We are not to worry or fear, even though the spirit of fear has been thrust upon the world purposely. Pushed at the people day and night. Fear is not of God and we are no longer a slave to fear, for we are children of God. And with our eyes and ears focused on our Saviour we will move in supernatural power and strength of the Holy Spirit. When tempted, don't be pulled into battles of the world. For though some may be good causes, they are carnal and not of our concern now. Those battles will continue long after we are gone. Focus on Jesus and being lead by the Holy Spirit seeking and saving the lost, setting the captives free from demonic strongholds and teaching the Word of God. What a wonderful time to be living, because of the simple fact He chose us to be the saints of this time. What wonderful glory we can bring our Lord in these end days! Hallelujah! Revelation 12:11 They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death.

When I received the spirit it was so huge I gathered my baby out of her nap ran to the door to run out the house as fast as I could and the rain pouring in the freezing weather shook me awake from the explosion. For the longest time I didn’t know what happened even though I was in decent prayer when it happened. For 25 years it was a puzzlement to me. Now I know and am speaking JESUS everywhere I go!
I just prayed in tongues for the very first time ever and I felt a divine power take over me. My body is still trembling even at this moment. Praise God. Bless you brother Derek. You are truly an annointed man of God 🇿🇦

A sin-sacrifice story implies a superstitious God who values blood-sacrifice, which was common back then - e.g. sacrificing a goat for a new home. Superstitious hoaxer Christian writers created the resurrection hoax, decades after Jesus, by making up fake testimonials that disciples witnessed an empty tomb & a risen Jesus. If Jesus had Godly powers, he'd still be alive & here. Resurrection & ascendance to heaven hoax easily dupes the gullible fools.

Such a wholesome and essential teaching for every church and every believer. Pastors and teachers ought to take this teaching to their congregations. Almost 40 years ago in a New Year prayer meeting, I listened to Derek Prince and the entire hall was filled with the power and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord do the same with every listener.

During this, these last days, our time, and our focus, should be vertical, on Christ alone, not horizontal. We are not to focus on the world and its strife around us, but on Him alone. Let Him guide us to where He wants us to go or what were to do, and who to minister to. Move totally under His guidance. We must bring in the last of the harvest. We must hear clearly hear from Him direction and what to say and do. This is a time we should only speak what God wants us to say, to do and act what He wants us to do. We are NOT to lean on our own uderstanding, but to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. Even when our understanding and reasoning of a situation seems right. It may be right in our eyes, but not what God wants us to do. There is much work to do to bring in the lost, when the world or shall I say the enemy has put up obvious obstacles. But we are not to worry or fear, even though the spirit of fear has been thrust upon the world purposely. Pushed at them day and night. Fear is not of God, and we are no longer a slave to fear, for we are children of God. And with our eyes and ears focused on our Saviour, we will move in supernatural power and strength of the Holy Spirit. When tempted, don't be pulled into battles of the world. For though some may be good causes, they are carnal, and not of our concern. Those battles will continue long after we are gone. Focus on Jesus and being lead by the Holy Spirit seeking and saving the lost, setting the captives free from demonic strongholds and teaching the Word of God. What a wonderful time to be living, because of the simple fact, He chose us to be the saints of this time. And what glory we can bring our Lord. Hallelujah!

i was able to speak in tongues only in my later years, but in my childhood i already had heard it from some and it sounds good to my ears. I desired for it, but i'm bothered everytime i speak as it seems like rivers bursting from my eyes. Oh, just now this came into my mind: "rivers of flowing water..?." Yes, that's the effect on me. All i know in my inner me is when i start speaking, i know deep within me i'm going so intimate unto God, worshipping Jesus , standing in awe,....full of wonder... indescribable He is. Yes, the language i speak is undescrible for He is beyond description. The next thing i desire really is to experience casting out demons.
