    • @Goat Herder is he allowing the Minister to answer the questions or just grandstanding? I just do understand the PRIMITIVE XENOPHOBIA that so many Nigerians hold against the Chinese. Meanwhile, Nigeria just signed an even bigger loan with the Germans for the Siemens’ deal and yet no one or NASS has questioned that loan. SMH

      @therealist2866@therealist28663 жыл бұрын
    • @@therealist2866 Siemens and GE employ over 1000 Nigerians, for well-paid value-added jobs. The Chinese rarely employ many Nigerians, Africans or anyone for most of their EPC jobs :).

      @goo8295@goo82953 жыл бұрын
    • @Goat Herder GE is not a German company and thus not part of this discussion, while Siemens does not employ 1000 highly-skilled Nigerians. Rather, a significant amount of Siemens’ Nigerian workforce includes many artisanal, low-skilled and unskilled laborers. Nonetheless, it seems you did not even bother to watch the clip before commenting, because the Minister clearly stated that the Chinese are only about 500 of the 20,000 workers involved in these projects. That’s about 15,000 Nigerians who can feed their families and support the local economy. Meanwhile, when was the last time Nigerians built rail lines? Obviously, the Chinese are not doing federal character quota system and employing every Tunde, Dike and Haruna, even if incompetent, in a country that ordinary citizens have to hire artisans from Benin Republic, Togo and Cameroon, while locally-built buildings are collapsing all around the country. However, the Chinese are setting up a railway university in Katsina State, and (according to the Minister) would need to train about 10,000 Nigerian workers just to be able to get started on the Ibadan-Kano line (assuming the loan comes through). I just don’t get the primitive anti-Chinese xenophobia among Nigerians, except it’s a neo-colonial brainwash.

    • Hello sir, now to reality, no Nigerian state is contributing to the federal pocket rather than just to wait for federal allocation that can't pay expensive expenditures of the states which result into Borrow. Short form, Nigeria is SOLVENT. It need periodic loan from where you can get it to run it. Even to STEAL/EMBEZZLE, you need loan to achieve that except for lagos state. Fact check this.

  • In a country where things are orderly and there is determination to grow, Amaechi would have found out before leaving the legislative chamber on the day in questioned, as part of breaking news that he has been relieved of his appointment as Nigeria Minister by the president of the country for his ill behavior, rudeness and display of lack of intelligence to handle position of authority and affairs of the Ministry. More also, the speaker of the house Femi was not right to come over to take the seat of the speak and announce for a break. He was not in charge. He should have left the seat for the man in-charge, Hon Ossai Ossai. That is not the speaker seat. He could also have applied wisdom by sending for the chairman of the panel first, discuss with him privately, and then the chairman can announce for the break to allow for time for Amaechi to see if he can behave like a human being. I guess the speaker of the house apologize to Hon Ossai Ossai for indecently taking over his seat without a preceding private discussion.

  • Aside from Amaechi's rudeness and his very annoying attitude, the speaker is the worst I have ever seen in speakership. He has no confidence in his committees. Why interrupt proceedings abruptly all the time?

  • Amaechi is a mannerless being. He believes he is in the zoo, and as such can behave like the lower animals. People like him who behave rudely, and are not intelligent enough to give simple answers to simple questions should not be allowed to occupy position of authority and responsibility. He is always aggressive and try to intimidate those making all the plausible effort aimed at making this country great and better.
