What I Ate in Queenstown, New Zealand 🇳🇿 (vegan) 2023
My husband’s mom came to visit us over the weekend and we had so much fun exploring the town and trying new cafes. There are no fully vegan cafes in Queenstown, but there are so many cafes with great vegan options. Links below!

Bespoke Kitchen - I LOVE this place, it’s so cosy and WARM (which is not always the case in NZ). I highly recommend their cakes and desserts, however, their vegan benedict was a bit of a let down. It gets busy here so I recommend going early for brunch!

Odd Saint - Their vegan cheesecake was absolutely incredible. I’d also recommend the hot chocolate. We booked a table through First Table, a website where you pay $10 to eat at off peak times, and you get 50% off the menu (not sponsored). The only downside to this restaurant was that they didn’t have any vegan bread options.

Postmasters - Super popular place in Arrowtown. I’ve heard that their brunch is really good and they also have cooked vegan desserts which is amazing. Great to sit outside in the sun. Gets super busy during the touristy season though. And, can also be booked through First Table for dinner!

Hustl. Cafe - Hidden gem in Frankton, just 10 minutes outside of Queenstown. Half their menu is vegan, and almost all of their cabinet food is vegan. I’d recommend their chai latte and their carrot cake. Even better, they don’t charge extra for plant milks!

Baker’s Lane - New vegan cafe in Frankton, Queenstown. Makes vegan doughnuts and sometimes cakes. Right next to Hustl. Cafe.

Taco Medic - Taco chain that exists in Queenstown and Auckland. They have 3 vegan tacos, but neither us, nor my husband’s meat-eating mother liked this. It’s more like fast food takeout than authentic tacos. I’d not go here again.

Country Lane - Artisan shopping village just 10 minutes outside of Queenstown. Great stop to look in the second hand store, have a coffee and chat with the store owners. I’d recommend going here for a quick stop if the weather is good.

Onsen Hot Pools - Quite expensive private hot pools that offer a 60 minute soak plus refreshments. They also have a day spa that looks incredible! I’d recommend going for stargazing or on a cold day, especially after a day of skiing. If you have the extra money to spare, I’d recommend getting a full spa package. This place is often booked out, so make sure you book at least a few weeks in advance.

What a fun time! I forget that you are having winter there in New Zealand. It was 102°F here yesterday, so the coats and snow were a surprise! 😊. It looks soooo expensive there. But maybe the value of NZD is not quite the same as American dollars. 😮
Yes it was! Haha, I miss summer so much :) 10 NZD is about $6 USD, so it's a bit better if you have the American Dollar :) However, it's quite expensive here in general!
