N = 254 blood samples post infection
N = 51 long term follow up
Antibodies against SARSCoV-

Memory B cells against SARS-CoV-2 spike
increased between 1 month and 8 months
after infection.
Proportion of subjects positive for CD4+ T cells (92%) remained high at 6 to 8 months after infection.
The different types of immunememory each had distinct kinetics, resulting in complex interrelationships over time
CONCLUSION
Substantial immune memory is generated after COVID-19
About 95% of subjects retained immune memory at ~6 months after infection
Circulating antibody titers were not predictive of T cell memory
CDC
Still recommends a full vaccination dose for all
the immune response from vaccination is more predictable
antibody responses after infection vary widely by individual
June, Peter Marks, Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research
We do know that the immunity after vaccination is better than the immunity after natural infection
generally the immunity after natural infection tends to wane after about 90 days

    • Based on the average hospital bill for a 2-3 week stay, in an ICU, I would strongly disagree and says there's quite a bit of money in "natural Immunity". Of course, if you are one of the lucky people who have only mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, this may be true. And it's also true that most people probably won't wind up in the ICU, but if you're one of those unfortunate folks who do, the cost, and profits, will greatly exceed that of the $2.95 pfizer vaccine. So, there's definitely big money in "natural immunity".

  • I don't know why I only just found this video, but I want to thank you for posting it. I was sick with the original variant for 5 days. Couch bound. But not sick enough to go to the doctor, let alone the hospital. Loaded up with C, D and zinc because that's always been the drill for me and my family. OTC meds kept the symptoms down enough that I could do the chores that can't be put off. A day after I felt better? Yeah, everything was off kilter. Arrhythmia for months bad enough to wake me from a sound sleep, fatigue, hacking up buckets of clear phlegm every morning. It's been 22 months and my lungs are better, but not as better as they were. People have been telling me to get vaccinated. Just do it, they say. They call me irresponsible for refusing, because even if I'm more immune than they are, I _could_ be even safer if I get jabbed. I keep telling them I've already had my fill of that spike protein. One of my sisters got so mad when I said I wasn't getting vaccinated, she shouted into the phone and hung up on me. Yes, the risk of long COVID from vaccination is small, and 56% higher than a small percentage is still a small percentage. But it's just not worth it for me. Even if it means I can't board an aircraft or dine in at a restaurant. And frankly, it gives me an excuse to not have to see my in-laws. :)

    @girlwriteswhat@girlwriteswhat2 жыл бұрын
    • Karen, it's good to see you on this thread. I really would encourage you to get vaccinated because there is the possibility that the vaccine can produce even stronger antibodies than the natural infection can give you; essentially you would be in Dr. Campbell's "ideal" category of having both natural and vaccine immunity. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you had such nasty symptoms and you don't feel as optimal as you used to be. That being said, perhaps it's a good time to quit smoking (if you hadn't already). I've found it difficult to get exercise during this pandemic and my cardiovascular fitness isn't optimal either. I haven't tested positive and I got vaccinated despite a stern dislike for needles. When I met a group of high-school boys in public earlier on in the pandemic, and heard how they could barely play sports or attend any events, I realized that this cause was greater than myself. Best health.

And in advance of a future exposure, sure. A bit of a head start, if you will. But I still have protection. "That being said, perhaps it's a good time to quit smoking (if you hadn't already)." And here I thought we all agreed that stress depresses the immune system. If I do quit, I'll wait until after all of this is over and things are back to normal. "I've found it difficult to get exercise during this pandemic and my cardiovascular fitness isn't optimal either." We have a treadmill, weights and an exercise ball, and there's plenty of moderately heavy work to be done around the house. Plenty of opportunity to exercise and stay fit. But you know, when you're worried about having a heart attack from carrying a full laundry basket, you're not going to be doing workouts. And in fact, people with heart inflammation are told to avoid ANY strenuous activities because they can end up dropping dead. The reality is, I couldn't exercise, even if I wanted to.

      @girlwriteswhat@girlwriteswhat2 жыл бұрын

  • Although I can follow with the data and the findings seem valid and are certainly interesting, what this video fails to acknowledge is that, to have natural immunity, you first of all have to survive a first infection and get through it without life-threatening symptoms and possible longterm damage to the body to have the benefits of it. Older and more vulnerable people cannot rely on their natural immunity to protect them like (most) healthy young people can. Not to mention the pressure we put on healthcare systems when we all get infected at the same time (which is what happened during the first waves). It's nice to see clear and non-judgemental content about this, so people can make a well-educated choice in the matter for themselves, but you do need to paint the whole picture.

An absolute analysis allows all parties to use the analysis to guide their own judgement of what to do with the information. What we now need are studies on the longevity of natural immunity. Thanks Dr. John.

But it's in everyone's power to take a stand for what is ethically correct, yet we see mandatory vaccination be supported by the everyday Joe. And he'll argue with you that the correct thing to do is to make sure everyone is vaccinated at all costs because it will save lives and that's ethical. But putting aside the fact that he is ignorant (since it's not that simple), I believe in reality he just wants things to go back to normal for his own comfort. • It's not as straight forward as that. Don't omit. A) the study was against the delta variant. The vaccines and delta emerged about the same time, so vaccines couldn't cover that and b) as quoted The study shows the benefits of natural immunity, but “doesn’t take into account what this virus does to the body to get to that point,”. In other words, you might survive and gain that immunity, but you might also not or have life long issues. I mean, in the end it's your choice whether you think the risk of getting covid in order to gain immunity is safer than the risk of taking a vaccine.

  • Immunity resulting from COVID-19 infection needs to be acknowledged and this should be reflected in public health policy immediately rather than implementing sweeping mandates that ignore the latest evidence. This is incredibly important - this is affecting those in Canada as well. Thank you for your clear and concise presentation Dr. Campbell.

    • It is acknowledged by science and has always been since the invention of vaccines. Vaccines are nothing more than a mild version of the virus meant to trigger the body's immune reaction without getting infected by the real virus. Vaccine induced immunity and virus induced immunity are the same thing and they are both "natural". Why do we still do vaccination? Easy: If 100 persons get infected by the corona, about 3 will die, the 97 others will have a much greater resistance to it as a result of the previous infection. Note that those 97 persons may experience lasting side effects from the initial infection. Decrease in lung capacity, loss of smell, chronic fatigue and other long lasting effects have been reported. If 100 persons get vaccinated, 0 will die and 100 will develop a resistance to the virus that is lower than what you'd get with a real infection but still considered enough to make further infection non lethal and also greatly reduce the risks of experiencing lasting side effects. Yes, natural immunity exists it's a fact that is well known and documented in scientific literature (and no, nothing is hidden to the public by evil money hungry lobbies, everything is available on google scholar, sci-hug, scienceopen, etc and has ALWAYS BEEN) , however getting natural immunity comes with much greater risks than getting a shot of vaccine. Vaccines have a much better risk/reward balance than getting natural immunity, that's all. If you are young and healthy your odds of getting natural immunity without dying or any sequel are highly favorable (still worse than with a vaccine, tho) but don't jump to the wrong conclusion that vaccines are just useless and nothing more than a money grab for labs.

    • @@cedric7751 1 in 100 won't die and it's quite spurious. Maybe 1 in 100 over 80 yr olds with pre existing conditions won't die. 1 in 100 healthy people who aren't overweight below 65 won't die (0 will die). The application of these generalised stats aren't helpful and if anything are misleading, because every person need to assess their own risk based on their personal health status and associated potential outcomes. I decline the vaccine because I look at the hospitalisation and body count for extremely fit and healthy 40 yr olds and I doubt we'll get 1 in a million. You assess your own risk

  • Thank you so much for you're impute and a well rounded outlook on the subject of covid it's great news for my whole family who are almost done with it my husband is getting really hard symptoms with viral pneumonia and his spirits have been down which doesn't help his ability to get better. I have noticed it hits everyone differently and I am in my 40's and pretty healthy and got pretty much through two natural covid cases. My husband is in his 50's and has high blood pressure and some asthma so he is experiencing more of a harder one. So it's difficult to be just straight across the board and say we all need vaccines because we are all different. People like me can get through it with some difficulty possibly, but I would rather face it like I did chicken pox when young and never got it again for the rest of my life, then having to deal with a vaccine that is still questionable. That is my opinion and I am blessed to now be naturally vaccinated and I have more options for the future. My husband probably should have been vaccinated because of his situation and like my parents who did get fully vaccinated. But my kids they all just got it and hardly had symptoms so they are stronger for actually getting it and I hate to say that but now they don't have to deal with the problems with the shot. We have had them vaccinated with all their other shots, but this is just still too new to experiment with a six year old boy, nine year old girl, and twelve year old boy. Thanks again for you're impute and made us feeling better about our decision I only want to have someone explain the truth and I love you're channel for honest in depth information, keep up the great work!
