I brought my dog with me on an adventure to the Colorado Rockies for a month while we lived and camped in the teardrop camper. We endured vehicle problems, being stranded, bad weather, scary mountain shelf roads, and long travel days. One of our best trips to date!
This is the full length version of the 4 episode Colorado series. It has been re-edited with additional footage, maps, a new voice-over and a super cool ending you don't want to miss! Thanks for watching!

    • Just traded in my 2021 Wrangler. In the last 6 months it had dropped mpg from 20-21 mpg to 15.5- 16 mpg. Had some electrical issues come up too. At least I had equity in it as a down payment on a used F150 4x4. I love this truck.

      @IAmWoody@IAmWoodyАй бұрын
    • @@IAmWoodyHaha, that is the mileage I get in my Jeep Gladiator(15-16 mpg). Work from home FTW, and it is worth every gas penny to drive it, more fun than I've ever had in any vehicle, including my previous Wrangler. Now if I had an hour commute it might give me pause. ;)

      @houstonartz4697@houstonartz4697Ай бұрын
    • @@houstonartz4697 I get 15 on the backroads and city in the F150, but it is a truck and I am good with that. That Wrangler wouldn't pull my new jetski above 4th gear (manual), on flat interstate. I spoke with the dealership about upgrading my gearing with an option that was available with the JL model and they said sure, but it will void the warranty. With the truck, I have no problems. I know the Gladiator would have handled it too, but I wasn't willing to take a chance on the other issues. I must say that I really HATE the electronic assist clutch on the Wrangler. The engagement point was constantly changing and it is an unnecessary "enhancement" to the clutch function.

    • Never get your car reliability information from a mechanic. They are mechanics all they ever see are problems. They don't see the tens of thousands of other vehicles that never show up at a shop for serious or major issues. That's like a doctor claiming there are no healthy people in the world because the people they see have medical problems.

Fortunately CarMax has a 30 day return policy with no questions asked and total refund. Same dealer bought a 2023 Toyota 4runner Sr5, 4x4, 22k miles and its a dream. Rock solid car and planning a 6200 mile trip this summer. Even at 80 y/o life is still a journey even without a covered wagon.

  • What I love about this video: it’s real! This is great for folks that are new to the Jeep world and “over landing”… Another thing I like: You took out a stock Jeep and a standard teardrop trailer. Nothing over the top, only stuff that many people can actually afford in the real world. With some “off road” trailers topping out at $130k+ it’s nice to see that you can still go out and live with much less. It brings it down to a realistic level. I too am a musician (drummer) and have been all over the world, I’ve been on every inch of the roads you were traveling on, and it totally hit home! Thanks for the video!

  • What a beautiful journey. Colorado is a beautiful state. I traveled 10 months with a trucker from the east coast making to California.. Its amazing how small our world is and how big at the same time. I enjoyed the off road trips , but i don't know if i would have been brave enough on a couple of the roads you chose . I might have been the dog at that point that would hide in the camper. I have to say that once you got the Jeep truly fixed you were fearless.

  • I lost a very good friend on the road up Antero.....In the dead of summer. You got some balz bro. Her Jeep fell over 800ft. Her dog was ejected and was not found for 3 weeks...Highway 10 is the first road I traveled on as a child with my grandparents when it was dirt with cattle crossings on the way to Creede. For me Highway 10 is the most bittersweet road I have been on, depending on of course your direction of travel. Getting to Cedar Point and seeing the Spanish Peaks lets me know I am on my way home. Next time travel to North Clear Creek falls.

  • 02 sensor issues with Jeeps, seems to be a fairly common issue and I’m surprised none of those dealers had them on hand . I wonder if it might be a good idea to preemptively order a full set of sensors to always have on hand to whoop out at the dealership when they say yeh we don’t have any.

  • Relax. I own a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 4/door. I have clocked over 90,000.00 miles with zero problems. I do my own maintenance and repair. I know enough to own some tools and online repair Manuel paid $89.99 for it. It is the same manual the Jeep Techs use at the Jeep Dealerships. I”m enjoying your trip footage and comments.
