  • That's funny that if you prepare a dish for them they jump into the dish and stand in the food while feeding. Cute.

  • Nice dry bedding for animals, I think hemp straw is so fantastic, it is sturdy, will last, is soft and antibacterial and becomes warm like hay from the body temperature, especially if it is in a thick layer and they can lie in a sort of hole or cave in it.

  • Thank you, Robert, for providing us with these educational and entertaining videos. Also, thank you for putting so much effort into caring for the rescues. I asked this on an earlier video, but could you to something with the microphone so you are easier to hear? I can hear the camera operator (sorry I forget his name) just fine, but you're distant and a smidgen muffled.

  • Yes, they do shed there spines. Also you should try and plant hawthorn because not only do hedgehogs favour them but also many other animals like wood mice and yellowhammers Thanks for the video

    • I know people who have hedgehogs as pets. I would love to have them in the wild. Could they survive in the states? They are so adorable.

  • Robert, here in the States the animal sellers were getting hedgehogs right and left for people here to buy as pets. I never thought that they should be sold for pets indoors. Did the UK put a ban on exporting them here to the states? I haven't seen any available for sale here in a long time.

  • My girlfriend has a blind hedgehog she's adopted from a wildlife rescue. Mr.Pickles. Breaks my heart to hear all this and know he'll never be able to experience living in a natural environment. She tries to give him the most natural and enriching environment possible but his disability limits these experiences. My heart is always left full, after watching your uploads. Much ❤ to you Mr.Fuller. Sudbury, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ✌️

  • Have no issue with badgers eating hedgehogs- people always judge animals for what we do ourselves- eat to survive

    @bettybreeze78@bettybreeze783 жыл бұрын
    • Wait, let me get this straight- your saying HUMANS are alone in eating to survive? Have you not seen just about every wild animal mercilessly kill and eat another animal, sometimes while it’s still alive and flailing!?

  • When you were talking about predators that eat hedgehogs, it made me wonder if people ever ate them? Historically so many animals we don't eat now might have been a treat before. I'm thinking of porcupines in the U.S. being eaten by Indigenous people and white explorers, as they were a survival food, full of fat, and fairly easy to catch, being slow movers. It reminded me of your fact about badgers and how they eat hedgehogs. I personally have never seen a porcupine in the wild and that is due to overhunting by white hunters.

    @sallymoen7932@sallymoen79322 жыл бұрын
    • Yes people did eat hedgehogs rapping them in clay to take off spines and baking them in fire ember’s

      @RobertEFuller@RobertEFuller2 жыл бұрын
    • More porcupines die trying to cross the roads than being killed by "white hunters".

  • Dear friend your videos are wonderful and interesting, let me tell you that according your finger nails, you are lacking zinc, it's very common because land all over the world has been made poor in zinc, and most of the zinc we ingest through vegetables. Zinc is important for the immune system.
