    • Do people honestly believe that the US Ruling Class - the 5,000 or so people who control most of the country's wealth - are going to spend the past 200+ years amassing all of the wealth, power, and control over the world that their families exercise, just to leave it all in the hands of someone like Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, or George W. Bush?? You don't really believe that, do you? These people have too much on the line to leave it all up to a vote, or to let some bumbleheaded President make decisions about what to do with it. The last President to even TRY to use the power of his office as a barrier to the wants of US Rulers, and the Pentagon, was John Kennedy. As they say, the rest is history.

  • I am a staunch Republican and a Trump supporter, and I am vehemently against the actions of Hamas on 10/07. Still, I am just as vehemently against the IDF's actions in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, which has been going on in Gaza and the West Bank for decades. The Jewish settlements in those areas of Palestine are illegal, as is the illegal annexation of the Golan Heights, which belongs to Syria. Israel is fast becoming a pariah state, and, unfortunately, so is my country, the USA, by association, by our blind support of Israel, by funding the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. A permanent ceasefire, followed by a two-state solution, is urgently needed. Also, we need to overhaul the lobbying system in the legislative branch of our government completely. Israel's AIPAC lobby is out of control and has been for years

    @patrickmusson4571@patrickmusson4571Ай бұрын
    • I don't believe you would maintain the same opinion if you were in the Palestinians shoes for 70 years. Unfortunately, it has been money 💰 and power that changes our ideals eventually to become what we disapprove when we start for something better.

      @josesegura5227@josesegura5227Ай бұрын
    • Unfortunately, most people are unable to hold the value to not support violence, no matter who is being violent and why. I understand the Palestinian attack on Israel and can go as far as to say it was inevitable, but violence is never justified nor does it resolve conflict. Condemning the Palestinian attack is also not productive and does nothing to break the cycle of violence. Yes, of course the Palestinians are suppressed and controlled by the Israelis, so there is an obligation to protect the weaker from the violent bullying of the stronger. It is bizarre that the West chooses to support the mighty bully. In Ukraine, the Russian action was understandable and even inevitable. Instead of supporting the ongoing dialogue between Ukraine and Russia and thus avoid war, the West insisted that Ukraine fight a war. The path to peace was much easier and clearer than between Palestinians and Israelis, but the West seems to love war and always chooses a side and then fully supports war and the attempted destruction of the proclaimed enemy. There seems to be no consistent value underlying policy.

      @sdvanon1285@sdvanon1285Ай бұрын
    • @@sdvanon1285 I think we as regular folks need to realize we have a TON more in common than we realize. Unfortunately, many don't pay attention enough or spend enough time researching to get their information. The sooner we realize that our leaders do not have us in their best interests, the sooner we can begin to see the motives behind their decisions. The same people who would have voted for Bernie, were also more likely to support Trump. We are tired of the quota as it has brought ruin and chaos to our society. And I whole heartedly agree that lobbying is one of the biggest culprits. We honestly need a whole revamp of the system, as the people in power, the elites, will continue to subterfuge society and politicians to fall back in line. The system is TOO corrupt. If the foundation of the building is already in shambles, it is better to start brand new than to try to fix something with too many cracks. And, our leaders are the absolute worst people. The same way we can view stockbrokers, investors, and elite businessmen as psychopaths who don't even flinch at the idea that millions people suffer when they break apart companies, these are the same people that work with our leaders and party with them doing only God knows what.

  • One of Michael Hudson’s finest interviews to date! Absolutely incredible insights and viewpoints that he revealed to all of us in this podcast!!! The depth of knowledge and profound understanding that he demonstrates during such discussions, is most remarkable. I think his mastery of this complex subject matter, puts him in a class unto himself. We now fully appreciate what is behind the misguided and often Ill-informed foreign policy decisions made by the West, time and time again. The insatiable greed and shortsightedness of the financiers calling the shots behind the scenes, have now led the world to the precipice of disaster, and possibility of a two front war in Ukraine and the Middle East, with a third one in the wings with China. The West has neither the well trained manpower, nor the munitions and weapons systems remaining in their military inventories to actually conduct warfare on two fronts simultaneously, let alone three. It is incomprehensible that Western military leaders would be preparing for such conflicts , in light of the known strengths of their potential adversaries. However, this does nothing to stop them from embarking upon such a dangerous course of action. There is no common sense being demonstrated by any of the top Western leaders, either governmental or military! This has the potential of spiraling out of control and setting the stage for a global conflict with the use of nuclear weapons. This is unthinkable and could bring an end to civilization entirely. Certainly not an outcome anyone should be contemplating! Thank you Nina for bringing Michael Hudson on your podcast. He has informed and greatly enlightened us all, with regard to the current state of affairs around the globe. You are doing an excellent job Nima, please keep up the good work?

  • The Natufians are the earliest inhabitants of the region known as Palestine. The Natufians are the ancestors of the Palestinians, Syrians, Jordanians, Moroccans, Lybians, Yemenis, and Arabs: Before 14,000 years ago during a period known as the Kebaran, Levantine people generally lived in caves or in the open air. These were small, seasonal camps, which were not occupied long-term. Between around 14,000 and 12,000 years ago there is evidence that habitation sites began to be regularly occupied. By around 12,000 years ago, it is thought that these people were living in mostly settled communities. This occurred some 3,000 years before the introduction of agriculture, when people still relied on hunting and gathering to survive. These new settled people are known to archaeologists as the Natufians. The Eastern Mediterranean had not only become warmer, but also wetter during this period and it is thought that this may have led to enough food being available that people stayed in one place. This was revolutionary because it meant that the Natufians were able to get all of their resources without constantly moving. Settled communities were a first step towards developing agriculture, because it meant people were more attached to the land around them. Ancient DNA evidence has shed light on the origins of the Natufians. In 2016, the DNA of five males and one female from Raqefet Cave was sequenced. All six individuals had been found in single or double burials, either on their back or side in a flexed position. Like all Natufians, the inhabitants of Raqefet derived half of their ancestry from ‘Basal Eurasians’. The Basal Eurasians are a lineage thought to have split off prior to the differentiation of all other European lineages, and prior to the interbreeding between Neanderthals and modern humans that occurred around 50,000 - 65,000 years ago. The Neolithic Period in The Levant The Western Mediterranean holds a special place in the story of early farming being first place in the world where this technology occurred. Beginning in an area known as the fertile crescent, which stretches across the present-day countries Syria, Jordan, Israel and Iran, farming began to appear between 10,200 - 6,900 years ago. The beginning of this period coincided with the end of the last ice age, around 11,700 years ago, when the climate of West Asia was warmer and wetter than today. Neolithic farmers were descended from the Natufian hunter-gatherers of the preceding Epipaleolithic period, who began cultivating cereals as early as 15,000 years ago. Agriculture also did not emerge in one single place in West Asia; instead, the domestication of different species occurred independently in various regions over hundreds of years. For instance, barley was domesticated at sites as widespread as Abu Hureyra, Syria; Jericho, Palestine; and Ali Kosh, Iran. In 2016, ancient DNA from a male from the Motza Tachtit site was analysed. Genetic analysis suggests that Neolithic farmers from the Levant (modern-day Israel, Jordan and Syria), such as this man, had very similar DNA to the Natufian hunter-gatherers of the preceding Epipaleolithic period. It seems these Levantine farmers were direct descendants of the Natufians, and can trace approximately two-thirds of their ancestry to them. POSTED ON JANUARY 30, 2019 BY Scientific INQUIRER ANCIENT DNA LINKS NATUFIAN HUNTER-GATHERERS WITH NEOLITHIC LEVANTINE FARMERS The Natufians have lived in the North African, Arabian, and Mediterranean "Levant" region since 23,000 B. C. kzhead.info/sun/qKuxibGhkJaHlIk/bejne.htmlsi=YfkLQYKu9U_u6HYw They are the ancestors of the Arabs, Moroccons, Yemenis, Jordanians, Lebanese, Syrians, and Palestinians. The notion that Palestinians are new comers or non-existent people is unfounded. They are the region's aboriginal inhabitants.
