  • Nope. Most gun owners are tired of meeting you at the middle ground. So far gun owners have been the only ones being responsible. It's always meet in the middle, then meet in this middle it will eventually be no middle until that right is stripped away. Foot is down and we must not budge

    • This is such nonsense. Private ownership of guns should be banned, or so strongly controlled that there are almost none about. What about the freedom to walk about without fear of gun crime? What about not having to teach little children in school what to do if a shooter enters the school, or to run in a zigzag if fleeing a gunman? Other countries have democracy and freedom - and NO GUNS. In the UK even the regular police aren't armed. Americans are so paranoid about self-defence against gunmen, which has been as a result of the easy access to firearms Ban guns and join the civilised world.

  • NO! START HERE! * Get your facts CORRECT! * STOP calling the conscious decisions of homicidal and suicidal people "gun violence"! * 2:20 "In the 1930's they banned machine guns in response to gangs" WRONG! The national firearms act of 1934 only implemented a registry, and a $200 tax. What you would call a ban on machine guns didn't come until 1986 with the Hughes Amendment. This banned the registration of new machine gun after the enactment date of May 1986. Still to this day, lawful Americans living in 38 states can own machine gun made prior to 1986. *2:37 " In the 90s, President Clinton's crime bill introduced a federal ban on assault weapons" WRONG AGAIN! The 1994 Assault Weapons ban only restricted certain features (flash hiders, bayonet lugs, collapsible stocks) none of which has any effect on how the gun functions. Gun manufactures simply offered the same firearms without these banned features. Magazines over 10rds were still available, just at a premium price! No matter how you spin it, support for more gun regulations after the civil unrest, lock downs, a threat of de funding police, is in a free fall. Especially with Biden's failed withdraw from Afghanistan leaving US military weapons in the hands of Taliban Terrorist who are already using those weapon on their own people who helped Americans, and who do not conform to Sharia law.

Magazines over 10rds were still available, just at a premium price!" ~~~~ Not exactly true, it also prohibited the manufacture, import and sale of certain semi-automatic firearms, meaning it warrants the name "Assault Weapons ban". Indeed it also banned some of the certain features and parts you've mentioned but many of those parts were banned because they came attached to "problem" weapons. That some of these guns continued to be sold with a modified design was merely a loophole, and a criticism of the effectiveness of the law rather than it's intention.

(Even if they don't care what happens to them, they won't be _able_ to put their guns to use if they get caught in the process of obtaining them.) And for another, finding an illegal seller is harder and more dangerous than just going to a legal seller, who _does_ care about the law.

I think what hit me a lot harder than that, among his comments though, was his use of the word 'scapegoat'. I've spent my entire life as a scapegoat for crimes I've never committed or even contributed to. I'm fairly libertarian in disposition, so I naturally lean more toward fewer regulations than more, but the fact is that people who claim to support 'gun rights' focus much of their energy turning people like me into boogeymen, and I'm just so done with it.

Life in prison for armed robbery or assault might be a deterrent for using a gun to commit a crime. There's people who've done less time in prison for murder then drug possession. Guns are not the problem, getting a slap on the hand if you use one to commit a crime is.

  • You have to look at violence not just gun violence. Some people will murder people with blunt objects, knives, and anything you can imagine. In the marines we learned of weapons of opportunity meaning you can use many objects around you to kill somebody if you have to. If you did manage to get rid of guns all you would do is disarm the victims who are physically weaker than their attackers. To limit violence you need to look at root cause, most gun violence is gang violence and most gang violence is socioeconomic. I think we have an issue of toting the party line too much in this country. I am for gun rights but also realize not everyone can pull themselves up by their bootstraps, some don’t even have boot straps so social programs are needed. I think many who support gun rights need to realize that people born in a disadvantaged environment need to be helped and are incapable of overcoming the barriers they were born into. Many jobs that pay well require education, and if you can’t afford that education you are locked into low paying jobs. Given that many choose to sell drugs and since that is an illegal activity they can’t litigate problems so they turn to violence. This isn’t about equal results, it’s about making the starting line equal, it’s not socialism to give everyone a fair chance at the start. Most gun violence is committed by poor people, middle class people don’t commit gun violence.

  • Control the problem closer the source.. those who have or intend to do harm. Without federally mandated controls that apply across the States, it will always be easier somewhere else.. and then those guns travel across state lines. All the examples of Chicago: the gun and violence were there before heavy restrictions, and guns will find their way to Illinois from out of state. Don't try and make crime tougher, get tougher on crime. A law abiding gun owner is of no harm to anyone. Owning a gun does not make you want to harm others, but those who do wish harm wil seek out guns. The Constitution protects the former, so maybe focus more on the conditions that lead people down the path to harm.

  • I appreciate the attempt to appear to argue both sides of the debate on guns, but this video has just too many lies about guns, gun laws, and gun owners. These lies are repeated over and over until many anti-gun and/or left-wing people probably believe them. Yes, we need to work on violence in this country (NOT gun violence, but violence). None of the suggestions that Biden has proposed will do anything to stop the violence. Take this for example: if 25% of the cars on the road are Toyotas, which cars do you think are going to be involved in a large number of crashes? Toyotas, of course, because they're heavily in use. Such it is with AR-15's, the most common rifle in the United States (except for possibly common .22 rifles). Simply put, it's not specific guns that are causing the incidents, but that the incidents involve the most common gun available. If you ban people from buying Toyotas, it's not going to stop car crashes--people will just buy different cars. Such is it with the AR-15. It's not rocket science.
