Jaime telling Tyrion he doesn’t care about innocent life might be the single greatest stroke of character assassination in the whole show.
Seriously, though. He betrayed his Kingsguard oath and became the Kingslayer (probably expecting to be punished severely for what he did) solely because he cared about innocent life.
It’s a bad line but it’s not completely impossible. Sometimes people say things they don’t mean just to win an argument or find reasons for their decisions.

The Dothraki spawn rate somehow got bugged when they added the patch that buffed Drogon and nerfed the Iron Fleet.
I get that but I can't figure out how the unsullied did it.
Bran is the one who makes me the most angry. Dude was basically a wizard who could see all of human history and mind-control animals & humans and instead all he did was lay around moping.

Apparently Bran is why the next book is taking so long, George is rewriting his parts because of the magic in them and wanting to make good use of it. Or that's what I heard online anyway.
Bran can travel through time and effect events? People can hear him - so he can influence them. He can control simple mindless people, so maybe no minded people - like Ice King? You cannot fight him - he knows your future moves. Maybe he is the nexus of all probabilities - like Man Thing from Marvel Comics.
This will never stop being frustrating. All the actors still cared, all of the production still cared, aftereffects, sound design still cared. By the writers just stoped caring at all, just chose not to put effort in

It's the greatest unintentional comedy of all time. GoT Season 8 is funnier than some comedies today like Thor Love and Thunder.

The fact that they just made Sam sit and lay around the entire time was dumb, but the fact that he somehow didn’t get killed was even dumber.

The plot armour in the Long Night felt like a personal spit in the face. Why make us wait 8 seasons for a threat that perishes in one night, with one or two casualties. disgusting writing.

It still baffles me that a team of professional writers couldn’t see all the glaring errors and inconsistencies in this final season.
there was no team, just two dudes with inflated egos rushing through to get onto the next thing. It's so sad that GoT has such a huge stain because of them. GoT S1-4 and HOTD (to date) are absolutely perfect and though S5-S7 were flawed, they were strong enough to set up a strong conclusion if the people writing cared to try.. but that's the problem - they didn't try at all.

Imagine. If D & D had realised it would take 3-4 more years to do finish the series properly and had simply said, publicly "we don't have the time but we bequeath the future direction of this epic series to those who do have the time to do it justice" and then just walked away. The money was there, the commitment from the actors and HBO was there, the will to do it properly was there...but hubris killed it.
Or do it properly raise your stock and look where we are now? Ahsoka released. Plenty of stories in Disney Wars and budgets for them.
Jaime throwing Bran out of the window in season 1 was foreshadowing of the writer's throwing Jaime's character development out of the window in season 8.

You just have to appreciate the poetic justice. D&D rushed through this last season to go do Star Wars. They gave them an amazing pitch and were set to do it. Then when hearing that everyone on planet earth unanimously hated the final season and somehow obliterated the reputation of a show that was once coined one of the greatest shows of all time. @@kostiszantos7944 to be fair, the main reason a lot of those tactics work well in battle is because suddenly getting hit from the sides/rear causes both confusion/fear in the enemy. Against an enemy that just runs screaming to kill the nearest non-dead thing probably would not be affected in the slightest by a flanking attack. (Edit) What would work well is creating lots of bottlenecks with earthworks/fortification to funnel their greater numbers into killing zones that your defenders can hold as chokepoints without getting overwhelmed.

@Zoe I liked when she screamed as she lunged to stab the night king, alerting him as to turn and grab her. That wasn't very stealthy. Pretty sure that's the dumbest thing an assassin could do. But I guess she forgot, just like daenerys forgot about the iron fleet.

I love how every Lord in Westeros was given a chance to become King of the seven kingdoms, one was giving a speech but easily backed down when told to sit by his teenage niece. The true heir didn’t want it and “King Bran” also didn’t want it (or he did.. I don’t even think he knows). We went through 8 years of power struggle just for everyone important to deny the Kingship. Incredible

I don't think there will ever be a more disappointing season of a series than the final of game of thrones. The worse thing is that even knowing how many good episodes there are I can never bring myself to watch any of them knowing how it all ends in such a crap way.
They never did nearly enough plot building of the people of Westeros not liking Dani to coincide with the murder of missnedei to make her go mad. It literally just comes across in the show as “my best friend got killed so I’m gonna commit genocide now”
No really, It was insane because Dany has lost many people in the past too. Viserys, who she still mourns. Drogo and their unborn baby. Selmy. Irri. Rakharo. she’s also been hated and unloved by many people. None of that drove her mad. It only strengthened her perseverance.

Night's watch, created to guard the giant wall that was create to ensure that the night king and his army of dead didn't get below that treshold. night king dead = no need for wall or nights watch. Not to mention Jon Snow should have been executed. Unsullied and dothraki has killed innocents without trial for as small things as talking shit about Dany, but killing Dany gets you a fair trial where your friends are responsible for your punishment?? Not to mention how can there even be a northern army left at the end. As if their civil war with north against 7 kingdoms later on north against greyjoys, north against stannis, north against north+wildlings, then north against night king and his army of dead....

@Dreaming Away The North shouldn't have any army and Lannisters not any at all as well. They actually had the possibility to make Dorne participate but in the end we ended up with nothing. Dorne didn't fight engage in any battles in the entire show. And btw i have to puke about the logistic of this show. You can't just magically sail across all of Westeros and appear with your army of unsullied. Such a trip would take months and it would be very hard to accomplish such a travel without allies providing food. Game of thrones is a good drama but it has the same principle of thinking seen with antivaxers and people that don't believe diseases exist.

If the finale of The Lord Of The Rings was anything like nearly as bad as Game of Thrones Season 8 it would have things like Gandalf, Elrond and crew giving up on getting Frodo & Sam to quietly sneak the one ring into Mordor to throw it into the cracks of doom and just have Gandalf mount a dragon and totally destroy Mordor instead, Galadriel of Lothlorien would probably turn up in Minas Tirith to become the sudden new queen of the whole of Middle Earth and Aragorn would probably just agree to it and head off to the Undying Lands with Frodo. The innkeeper of the Prancing Pony at Bree would probably get promoted to become the chief treasurer of The Shire and would commute daily through the Old Forest.

By the time 8 came out I had mostly forgotten about just how unsatisfying and ridiculous season 7 was... I fell for the trap.

Jon Snow since season 7 isn't authentic, he's no hero and no nothing. Just an imbicil liked by many other imbicils.
This series the most literal example of starting the week off really strong, like stronger than expected, getting sluggish on Wednesday, giving some effort of Thursday then mailing it in on Friday.

@@HK-gm8pe I have to strongly disagree with this common belief. I'm going to argue that she had everything to gain. Her wise dwarf had become foolish. Her handsome simpleton do-gooder nephew/lover has lost all of his charm and allegiance except in word, and one of the few sayings he is able to utter. 2 of her children have been slain. The only way to rule and lead these meek simple animals is through terror and dread. If anything, she didn't go far enough, which allowed the treachery in her house and it lead to her demise. I believe it was because she was used and abused earlier in her life, that she was unable to rule her house with an iron hand because she was scared of being truly alone, even for the entire realms sake. I applaud her and her strength.

Then the plot gets put on hold until the end of The Long Night because it's all about preparing for the greatest and most desperate fight that Westeros has ever known that begins and ends in a single episode, and then from S8E4 until the beginning of S8E6, after hastily doing away with all of Dany's remaining advisors aside from Grey Worm, they catapult her into becoming this unstable, paranoid lunatic who believes that the people of Westeros hate her (???), is obsessed with both Jon and the Iron Throne to a degree that even Viserys would balk at, and doesn't bat an eye at the prospect of brutally incinerating _innocent civilians_ when her entire character up until this point - when the _previous season_ - had her state that she wouldn't be 'queen of the ashes'. I guess DnD 'kinda forgot' about that, too.
Season 8 was like D and D were writing a script with one shared pen during the middle of a lobotomy operation.

When Jon jumped on his horse in the "Battle of Bastards" his sword moved in a way that exposed it was a robber made sword. Ever since, Jon became less and less convincing as a hero. Instead, he's clueless short guy (hard to ignore that after Daenerys mentioned it several times in season 8) who use plastic sword. Tyrion is a combination of retard and a traitor since season 6. I wasn't sure what he was more, but at the end of season 8, when he appointed Bronn, a salesword with loyality to no one but money who just extorted him under the thearts of murder, as one of the members of the small council -it became clear that Tyrion is more of a retard.
Compare this to how he spoke to her in s7 when they first meet. Jon is just a droid in this.

First off this video is spot on. Articulated everything I couldn’t say. I’m watching the whole series for I believe the 4th or 5th time and this time with my teenage daughter. She loves it and Ive fallen in love with it all over again and I’m more forgiving of the rushed plot and bad writing. I have said it before and I’m positive it’s somewhere online but Jamie Lannister killing the Night King would’ve been the most poetic. I’m not knocking Arya bc they did tons of development for her and Jon was too obvious. Jamie however would’ve had a full circle transformation from being a dishonorable King Slayer stabbing him in the back to killing the Night King stabbing him in the front and saving millions. He would be saving Bran when he’s the one responsible for his condition.
Better writer then D&D. Could even have had him as seemingly non threatening and walk up to the night king and punch him with the blade hidden on his metal hand.
This video could just play the whole of season 8 and the title would still be accurate 😂

Well to be completely fair (I hate season 8 too but) she was already set up for madness in the same season she said that. Supercut took it out of context to strengthen his argument, which results in the opposite. One episode after saying that line she burned the Tarlys alive, and Tyrion got the most ominous look on his face as he began to realize she was either not entirely honest, or just an oblivious psychopath.

Jaime Lannister's de-characterization is the worst crime they've ever committed. The bathhouse scene was such a powerful and deep look into Jaime's character and how much he sacrificed and is willing to put on his back just to save the millions of innocents. And boom, he cares no more and never did. Wow.
