Tons of people are coming to Dallas Ft. Worth metroplex as well (roughly 3-4 hour drive north of Austin). There's a ton of opportunity in TX. Cost of living is reasonable. It's always been a great logistical hub geographically for big businesses and big money. It's being overwhelmed though infrastructure wise with all the transplants. Even before I left TX in 2015 you get on the highway and your in deadlock traffic after work, and the amount of lanes on the highway/interstate one way in Ft. Worth are sometimes 2!! It already had trouble supporting it's existing population!!!! In Dallas they have 6+ lanes even then it can be bumper to bumper. Family still lives there it just sounds like even more of a nightmare! It's totally a case of where you live somewhere for a while (Ft. Worth TX) that's somewhat distant from the hustle and bustle of the big city (Dallas) then the big city builds up to your doorstep. I guess if you live long enough somewhere it's inevitable, but damn though TX is accommodating the boom by covering the city and everywhere inbetween with concrete. Still seems like a better option than CA though! CA will just be a playground for the rich at the rate they're going. Some would say it's intentional to push poor people out.

I lived in El Paso & Dallas. The entire triangle of Dallas-Houston-San Antonio/Austin is a traffic debacle - same as LA. So maybe nearby cities like Corpus Christi, Tyler, Fort Worth are close enough to the action, but just far enough away. El Paso is unique, but might as well be in New Mexico. It's in the desert in the middle of nowhere, if that interests you. Working in the casino industry, if I had to move back to Texas, it would be to the Gainesville or Denison areas to work in either Ardmore or Durant OK.

Tons of people are coming to Dallas Ft. Worth metroplex as well (roughly 3-4 hour drive north of Austin). There's a ton of opportunity in TX. Cost of living is reasonable. It's always been a great logistical hub geographically for big businesses and big money. It's being overwhelmed though infrastructure wise with all the transplants. Even before I left TX in 2015 you get on the highway and your in deadlock traffic after work, and the amount of lanes on the highway/interstate one way in Ft. Worth are sometimes 2!! It already had trouble supporting it's existing population!!!! In Dallas they have 6+ lanes even then it can be bumper to bumper. Family still lives there it just sounds like even more of a nightmare! It's totally a case of where you live somewhere for a while (Ft. Worth TX) that's somewhat distant from the hustle and bustle of the big city (Dallas) then the big city builds up to your doorstep. I guess if you live long enough somewhere it's inevitable, but damn though TX is accommodating the boom by covering the city and everywhere inbetween with concrete. Still seems like a better option than CA though! CA will just be a playground for the rich at the rate they're going. Some would say it's intentional to push poor people out.
It's such bullshit that they expect to somehow blend together progressive ideology and welfare statism with low tax fiscal conservatism. It's impossible. They move to Texas, Idaho, Colorado, etc. fleeing the exact bullshit they continue to vote for in their new state. Blue Plague.

I lived in El Paso & Dallas. The entire triangle of Dallas-Houston-San Antonio/Austin is a traffic debacle - same as LA. So maybe nearby cities like Corpus Christi, Tyler, Fort Worth are close enough to the action, but just far enough away. El Paso is unique, but might as well be in New Mexico. It's in the desert in the middle of nowhere, if that interests you. Working in the casino industry, if I had to move back to Texas, it would be to the Gainesville or Denison areas to work in either Ardmore or Durant OK.
