  • The best part is that there's no way to reproduce the Official Studio version. The "guitar scratch" at the very end was Herman's E-string snapping mid-note! The producer liked the effect so much they kept it.

  • The Devil went down to Georgia was the actual final boss battle in GH3. A guitarist by the name of Steve Ouimette made a hard rock/heavy metal version of the song in which the the fiddle parts of the song or played using an electric guitar. Y’all should look up the GH3 final boss battle. DragonForce Through the Fire and Flames was DLC but was indeed the hardest song to beat and Xbox 360 had an achievement for beating it on expert called The Inhuman Achievement.

  • Herman Li, the lead guitarist for DragonForce, is a GOD. He's also a good content creator, in the online space. He streams, and uploads a bunch of stuff here on KZhead, usually on the official DragonForce channel. Edit: also for the Guitar Hero parts, the fast notes are really impressive, of course. But as someone that played a ton back in the day, the most impressive part is being able to hit the slow notes. You can muscle memory and zone in on the fast stuff, it's hard to lock on the slow stuff.

    @greenman360@greenman3604 ай бұрын
  • Thing is, guys, the "official video" doesn't even have the whole studio solo! If I recall, there was a second part of the solo that wasn't included -- making the whole song at least 7:30 long. And guys, check out Tina S playing this on guitar! She's a freakin' monster on lead! Edit: In case y'all were wondering, how someone gets that good is hundreds, if not thousands of hours of practice, as well as insane pattern recognition. Trust and believe, someone that good? They ain't just gonna pick up GH III and make no mistakes. That dude spent _a lot_ of time playing that game.

    @isaiahwelch8066@isaiahwelch8066 Жыл бұрын
    • Exactly. Me and my friends could all do it on expert, but it was only because we were competitive with eachother and as soon as one could do it on hard, another had to try outdo them by doing it on expert, then another had to get a higher score, etc. ALLL summer long playing the same song over and over just to get better at it than our friends. And if you couldn't beat them at one song you just mastered another and challenged them on that lol.

      @colecampbell1906@colecampbell19069 ай бұрын
  • It always made me smile when rapping FAST started to be one of the ways you measured someone's talent, because we did the same thing with guitar, bass, and drums in the 80s with heavy metal. It was understood that this stuff was hard to play really well, with so many roots in classical music, and if you wanted to really show off, you got yourself able to play really difficult stuff faster than anyone else. Game recognize game, it was the same back then.

    @OneThousandHomoDJs@OneThousandHomoDJs Жыл бұрын
    • Always gunna be like that. It will always be more difficult to do music faster rather than slower, and people appreciate difficulty not ease.

  • I went to two of their concerts with this lineup on their Fire and the Flames tour. It was the most insane concert, spent the entire time in the wildest mosh pit I have ever experienced - especially with this song. Also the Guitar hero version is the full song- the actual clip (for some weird reason) was cut right back.

  • Guitar Hero was my shit, I had them all. Then it died and I hadn't played it for like 8+ years, had a conversation about old games and trends, remembered Guitar Hero and got nostalgic, learned that Clone Hero was a thing and it was popular and growing right now (about 3-4 years ago) and still going strong today. Discovered channels like Acai, UKOGmonkey, JasonParadise, randyladyman. "Through The Fire And Flames" is warmup compare to how insanely difficult songs exists now. Add overcharts, mod charts and so on. They havn't seen anything yet 😈 I play Clone Hero everyday now at 31, and I'm better now than I ever was when I was like 16 and played Guitar Hero religiously. Like I went from struggling hitting 3-5 notes consecutively to comfortable at expert over summer break (ca 9 weeks here) :P

  • You have to react to the GOAT now: Tina S. She has a cover of this that even blew away the lead guitarist Herman Li. Her cover of Beethoven Moonlight Sonata is her best. Her version of For the Love of God is also amazing.

    @Michael-pv6xc@Michael-pv6xc Жыл бұрын
    • I think what's crazy about Tina S cover is that the guitar solo in this song was DUELING guitars, both Herman Li and Sam Totman, but the track she got had both guitar solos going simultaneously, so she sort of did both parts of the solo BY HERSELF on her one guitar.

  • In case anyone missed it like Cartier family did in the vid 5:08 the sound he makes on his guitar sounds exactly like pac man eating pellets around the maze. Dragonforce are well known for making unique guitar sounds including a reving car engine and many other video game references

  • Devil Went Down to Georgia is on Guitar Hero 3 its the second-to-last song you play before Through the Fire and Flames (which is the credits) its a metal cover by Steve Ouimette, who did the covers for some songs in the GH games i really think you guys should check it out.

  • A good place to see more great guitarists along with Herman Li is to check out the DragonForce KZhead chanel. About 2 years ago, he did this big fundraiser for Jason Becker (another guitar virtuoso who can't play anymore due to having ALS). He had a bunch of awesome guest guitarists come on to help raise funds, like: Steve Vai, Tosin Abasi, Jason Richardson, Paul Gilbert, Nita Strauss, Stevie T, etc.

  • Check out Valley Of The Damned, Fields Of Despair, & Once In A Lifetime by them too. DragonForce is considered Power Metal. A lot of the subjects are about different mythologies, vikings, wars, etc. it’s usually uplifting though. You always want to just kick ass after listening to it. Early influences were Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, etc. You guys should also check out bands like Gamma Ray, HammerFall, Helloween, Iced Earth, Manowar, Powerwolf, Sabaton, Seven Kingdoms, Unleash The Archers, etc.

  • I remember the first night I played Guitar Hero back in college at a party. I literally didn't care about the beer or girls. I was sold on Guitar Hero because I played guitar. I made my damn fingers bleed that night lol. I bought it the next day and played it for days until I finished the game on expert. My 3 roommates were all going for it as well. I remember 2 of my roommates got stuck on "Cowboys From Hell" while my other roommate and I were stuck on "Bark at the Moon." I finally beat it and screamed through our apartment "BREAK OUT THE BEER! I DID IT!" That game was so addictive.

However, I would highly suggest you guys checking out soundgarden. Really any song will work but I would start off with something that really shows off there talent. If you guys do decide to check them out I would suggest one of there first big songs called “outshined”. Thank you

  • Having played Guitar Hero 3, I'd say that if you're counting across all difficulty levels (and most people wouldn't), "Raining Blood" actually beats out "Through the Fire and Flames" due to having a less dense but also less predictable pattern. (Also, the first time I played the latter was over the ending credit sequence, where you aren't scored and can't lose, so it just feels epic no matter how bad you are and that feeling kind of carried over to when you can play it normally.)

    • Lmao im not ready for raining blood when i eventually make it there on my expert run, i had enough of a shit time with on hard, but that probably wont be for a while, Before I Forget is walling me for some reason
