when i originally played DMC3 years ago (before HD collection, on the bad PC port) i always considered Nevan and Artemis and spiral as the least useful weapons. Now it was different after learning about their skills.

Nevan is the Most underrated. Best crowd Attacker weapon, you can fly on dt, and IT compensated the Lack of swordmaster the best with its Strong Areal Attack. A must If you Play any Style exept swordmaster since its Hidden Combos dont rely on the Style.

If you go royalgaurd with the spiral just spam block after shooting it until you see the spiral recoil animation stop, if you can start to feel out the timing then its actually pretty consistent. You can also do this with a lot of animations i think, shotgun is especially fun.

A cool mechanic about Nevan is that the bats will damage/juggle enemies before they’re launched forwards

I really like using Beowulf and Artemis, because Artemis is always in Dante's hands so when I use Beowulf and hit the enemy it looks like Artemis becomes a gauntlet that can shoot lasers

Better to start with classic mode to learn and then go to freestyle when you’ve mastered every style and weapon

Just remember that Nevan is still a melee weapon. The bats projectiles are just a bonus.
