  • Thanks! Good review. I have the NT USB Mini as well as the VideoMic NTG. I work from home in a call centre roll and got tired of the crappy headsets. So hooked up the NTUSB and Røde Connect and it gives me the tools to manage my calls, record calls if I need to, mute the mic, and use my Beyerdynamic DT990 (comfortable) and my customers love the “radio voice”. The audio adjustments do help, particularly if you have a very deep voice that can get muddy. Good suggestions back to Røde as well! Now… I would like to the VideoMic NTG support added to Røde Connect as well!

  • That was a great video and it's an amazing and very affordable mini mic. If you don't mind me asking, Can you please give a link or explain a bit more about the Shotgun mic that you're using in this KZhead video? I love the sound quality - If you can make a video about this mic that you're using and show how you get the audio to be that perfect - that will be very appreciated. Thank you in advance and for your amazing videos - love your channel.

  • better option is the marantz pod pack 1, its a condenser mic for £40 that includes a boom arm. spend some time learning mic technique (not u cube) and it will sound better than anything you place on your desk and lessen issues with room acoustics too.

  • Have ordered one of these from amazon due to arrive tomorrow so i am super excited. Its an upgrade for my blue snowball. Just a little concerned that the lack of additional virtual channels may cause me some issues as i stream Xbox gameplay through an elgato hd60s capture card to my PC then through OBS. I am sure i will be able to figure it out but like you said in the video adding additional virtual channels to the software cant be that tough for future updates!!

  • While i love the new features of Rode Connect its got some issues. not being able to start when the PC starts is one of them. When the PC starts it reads the Rode as a standard USB Mic, when you run connect it now routes through a virtual mic, if you forget to run connect and you have a program like OBS looking for that virtual mic it never sees it. I have seen my PC bug out multiple times because it gets confused between what mic to actually work with. if connect would start with your pc and live in the tray like Elgatos software does then all of this could be avoided.

  • 6:31 - It sounds noticeably better (much more natural) WITHOUT the effects. I recently picked up some "Rock Band"/"Guitar Hero" USB microphones (Logitech A-0234A) for $3(US) each, at a thrift store. They actually sound FAR better than the RØDE NT-USB Mini, for voice reproduction. And, in case someone is going to say, "You don't know what you're talking about," I received a Bachelor's degree in Communication with specialization in broadcast production. I've worked in TV production. I've also worked both as a Radio announcer and a nightclub DJ, using sound systems costing MANY times what any streamer uses. With modern digital electronics, it is simply NOT necessary to get expensive equipment. One common error is one Pete makes, here on this channel. He puts in too much bass. The normal human voice does not have much bass in it at all. When you add bass, you end up with a "muddy" sound which does not sound at all natural. You don't really notice it much, because so many people do it that it starts to sound normal. However, when you take it out, the difference can be eye opening. Always ask yourself, "Does that sound like someone speaking through a microphone or does it sound like someone standing beside me?" If you can answer the latter, you're on your way to enlightenment. 😉

Mind you I have a Rode Podmic, Rode Rodecaster Pro as interface, Rode AI-1 as extra interface and an extra mic the Rode Procaster and 2 mic boosters the Fethead and the SE Dynamite but some days I just feel like taking my macbook to our dining table and plug the NT USB Mini just because.
