  • What I like about the first bits of the trailer is that it shows that Proximus is not just an evil overlord, he has a vision.

    @amorojaz27@amorojaz273 ай бұрын
    • That's what I love about Proximus, he respects, almost reveres the humans for the things they accomplished, and now he believes it is his mission to rebuild the civilization that the humans destroyed. He is like the Alexander of his time imo.

    • Any well crafted villain is the hero of his/her own story. The audience should be able to understand and even sympathize (to a degree) with the antagonist and his/her goals. Like you said, the further you get away from that the closer you get to "evil lord" territory.

    • Same age and same passion, fandom, for the world that Pierre Boulle created. This film looks like a direct correlation to the Heston 68 film. Dang, I loved all the Roddy McDowell films and I even watched the dreadful weekly CBS show with Naughton/Harper back in the day. Such a great trilogy, the Serkis films, and I am just so excited about this film. The only stain I think on the Apes world is the Burton film. I was not a fan of that film. I am a HUGE fan of Burton but I think that was a big misstep.

  • I think that window symbol is gonna be the Ape’s version of a cross, it’s a symbol of a type of religion where Caesar is probably gonna be venerated to some kind of godhood maybe, a bit like mosses in the bible who freed the Jews from Egypt, the apes might see caesar as the one who gave them intelligence and freed them from human captivity.

    @PRESIDENT_LEMON@PRESIDENT_LEMON3 ай бұрын
    • To add to that, I can see Proximus trying to shift Caesar’s teachings and views to his, using his influence to make himself look divine. Noa will be the prophet who tells the truth about the world and start a revolution while Proximus will be the Tyrant trying to cover the lies with more lies and corrupt the society as a whole.

      @ibrahimk.3227@ibrahimk.32272 ай бұрын
    • I don't think the knowledge of them being in captivity would get passed on except for a few individuals and would definitely not be the center of religion. I do agree that it's probably a story of godhood of Caesar and how he brought apes knowledge. Probably closer to Prometheus than moses

  • I saw a very interesting theory on the subreddit today that i really liked. They said that the line from Raka about Humans and Apes lived side by side could be about the character Nova in War, who after Caesar's death lives ofc with the apes and that specific ape society (including Maurice) looked to take in other humans who were like Nova and taught them sign language too. And that Mae is possibly from that tribe's lineage, humans who are smarter. And they predicted that maybe Proximus was looking to either kill that tribe and Mae is one of the last few? Or possibly that he is wanting to find those like Mae so he can somehow learn and use them to increase his knowledge and thus, his power. Maybe wanting them to read and do things that he can't understand yet. Whatver the case is about Mae, I love her inclusion and the added curiosity and intrigue she brings, already so many different theories about her. I think that one I read today might be the one I'm leaning towards. Cannot wait!

    • Ceaser is more of a legend in this time period. Many apes haven't even heard of him and those who have might question whether an ape like him even existed. Obviously, some apes clearly know something from Ceaser's time existed. For example, in Proximus's kingdom you can clearly see Ceaser's window symbol on the rusted ship and Raka was also wearing a necklace that had the window symbol. I assume Proximus knows who Ceaser is because his full name is Proximus Ceaser. But maybe a statue of Ceaser does exist in an ape tribe somewhere. All I want is for Ceaser to at least be mentioned at some point in the movie.

  • Great video once again :) I think it's criminal more people aren't talking about this movie. Deadpool took the entire spotlight during the Superbowl unfortunately. Which I understand tbh. I'm not a fan, yet I still geeked out at the trailer. So I'm glad I found your channel! Anyways, time to ramble, lol. I don't blame you at all for gushing at the detail on the apes, especially their faces. The first thought that crossed my mind when we get the first shot of Noa's face was "woah, those eyes!" (Some of these apes have prettier eyes than me, I swear).They're so human that I can't help but pause and take a good long look at them. I love to see how their expressions are now more detailed and more human. I love Proximus a lot more now. Him admiring and being a fan of humans and their technological achievements is a nice layer I didn't expect. Also, I thought that ape with Noa looks more like his mother. It took me a fat minute to discern what the mural was depicting until I realized it was an astronaut. As for Mae looking into the telescope, I personally don't think it's her Statue of Liberty moment. I don't know what she'd even be looking at for her to figure out she is an astronaut stuck hundreds of years into the future. Like, the moon? You don't need a telescope for that, lol. And I don't think she'd be looking at a spaceship either. I see that she is crying in that scene. It could be sadness for humanity's downfall. Or maybe she is looking at stars and is so overwhelmed at their beauty. Honestly, that scene can just be showing Noa and Mae's fascination with the cosmos. But once again, I could be wrong, and we shall see in 3 months. I love the scene of him giving her a jacket, it's almost sweet! And rescuing her from the gorilla had me at the edge of my seat. I cannot wait to see their dynamic play out. Also, the blue jacket he gives her looks a lot like the blue jacket you can see in the scene where Noa is crawling away from the other ape. I wonder what happened there! In the scene where Proximus is shouting, I think he is shouting "Pull!" And then we later get a scene with a bunch of apes pulling at...something? A bunker door? A ship? A gate? I kinda hope after this movie comes out, it gets more attention and more people join its fandom. Once again, nice video :)

I absolutely cheered when Noa said "No, together strong!" like on my feet from my couch cheering. For the elders that didn't tell them everything about the world, I thought they meant elders like Koro. Since we've seen an image of Noa and Koro talking, I wonder if Noa will discover the truth about ape/human history or something about Proximus, and will take it to Koro who will shut him down. Then he later he says to how the elders have hidden things. That's my current theory. Can't wait to see you breakdown everything else they release in the coming months!

  • So, a couple of things here. First, I think that that's a dead tree truck that May is stepping onto and not a rock during the chase. I also think the ruin structure in Ape City might be a rusted ocean liner since you could see they are located by the shoreline in the previous teaser trailer. You could be right about the reveal to May that she's on Earth if she is educated and knows about the position of the stars or constellations, then she'd. realizes where she's at once she's look's through the telescope. Great trailer, very excited to see the new film, and the CGI looks amazing! I love the expression on their faces when they see what look's like a Curious George children's book.

  • It's probably obvious, but Proximus Ceaser's name bears two very distinct, yet significant meanings- Proximus, in Latin, means 'Nearest' or 'Next', while Ceaser - despite having unclear origins- was a name or title which became a popular term for King or Emperor, after Gaius Julius Ceaser. Therefore, Proximus Ceaser means either 'Next Ceaser' or 'Nearest to Ceaser'. This could mean two things: either Proximus is styling himself to be Ceaser's successor, or he is the nearest thing to Ceaser that exists in this era- in other words, a second-rate imposter. Either way, he wants to build a legacy equal or surpassing thar of Ceaser's, and he seems to be inclined toward establishing his legacy with violence and technological prowess.

  • It could be the Proximus IS the descendant of Caesar, or that he claims to be and took his name as his family name + his symbol. This is a way to legitimize his rule by telling everyone he shares blood with their saviour, and feels like it is hinted at when he walks by apes kneeling in prayer to him. He probably motivates his war by twisting Caesar's words: "Apes together strong" = We must conguer all apes so we can be untied, our war is justified. Something that will be neat to see are the other ape/human kingdoms out there... Feels like Proximus wants to learn specifically about how to make weapons (guns etc.) so he can tip the scales of power in his favor and conquer all kingdoms and unite them under his rule. However, to do that he needs humans, hence why they are hunting them. He probably brings them to his kingdom and tortures them to get the information he wants, which Noa is against. If Noa's name is anything to go on his role in this new trilogy(?) will likely be to take humans and apes to a safe place from Proximus and other ape conquerors.

  • My guess is Mae is from a group of intelligent humans who have their own society underground somewhere. IMO there is no way that all humans reverted to a feral state. Although it would have been neat to see that she is from space. We know from Rise that humanity had a crewed Mars mission so that could have meant they colonized Mars or perhaps even the moon in this timeline However, I feel it would kinda blow the movie out of proportion if that was the case idk why

I don’t buy the Mae is an astronaut theory but I am buying that theory that mutants might be introduced and if so he might be one of them hence the mystery still. • That segment with the apes at night on horseback with the masks i do think its Proximus's soldiers because one of his henchmen has a fur hive on them. So the mask could be a way to prepare for a raid. They're raiding Noa's village setting it on fire, which leads me to believe that scene with one of the soldiers with the taser is part of that raid. Abother reason why I say its Noa's is because of that old looking ape appearing again when Noa sends his falcon in an angry manner, which makes me think its his people that got captured, seemingly ready to attack with the apes behind him looking angry.

  • My theory on Mae, that I just thought of while watching this video: She’s a human who was cryogenically frozen at some point during the initial wave of the Simian Flu when a group of people realized that humanity was fucked, so they put her on ice in hopes of her being used to repopulate Earth. However, she wakes up 300 years later to discover a new world taken over by apes, so she embarks on a mission to reestablish human dominance over the planet (which a leaked synopsis from a while back that ended up being true teased is her goal).

    • It could just be that humanity is doing alright in other parts of the world. Civilization broke down before the virus mutated to make humans dumb. Continents would have been pretty isolated, it's not likely the mute humans could have traveled from California to Eurasia or Africa in the span of 300 years when there isn't a land bridge.

      @ReddSquall@ReddSquall2 ай бұрын
    • How TF she would do that, lmao? Humans have been regressed to feral animals and in this time period the apes out number humans by a lot. The only way I can see Mae putting humanity back on the map is by time traveling 300 years in the past and killing Will before he developed the virus. Time travel could be used in this film and it wouldn't be a problem because it was used in the OG franchise. Yea, but for Mae to re-establish human dominance in this era she would have to find a way to kill all the apes, which isn't feasible for one human to do alone.

Notice how the hunt in both films (original and Burton’s) used the hunt with astronauts (tip of the hat). • yeah and shes very distinctly in regular clothes while every other human is in rags/animal skins. right before the telescope we see noa uncover a mural of an astronaut. in the teaser there were apes in some very large facility reminiscent of a space station. it could just be a red herring though. ive seen somone say she could be from a human community that survived in a bunker which is plausible as well. i actually hope its the latter cause id like to see the apes a lot more developed before the crash landing happens

He seems to be unhinged yes, but It’s interesting how interested he is in human technology. It seems to me he is more the type of person (or ape) who is simply way too interested and obssessed with a specific thing. And becomes corrupted by it. Even though he may had good intentions at first.
