LYRICS -- Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Come thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
I'll praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
Mount of thy redeeming love
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by thy help I come
And I hope by thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wondering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above
LYRICS -- If You Could Hie to Kolob
1. If you could hie to Kolob
In the twinkling of an eye,
And then continue onward
With that same speed to fly,
Do you think that you could ever,
Through all eternity,
Find out the generation
Where Gods began to be?
2. Or see the grand beginning,
Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation,
Where Gods and matter end?
Methinks the Spirit whispers,
"No man has found 'pure space,'
Nor seen the outside curtains,
Where nothing has a place."

  • I’m 13 and I have had a really hard time believing in Jesus. My grandpa recently died and he was my every thing. After he died I hated the church and didn’t believe. I thought that if Jesus loved me he wouldn’t take him away. But after I herd this song I cried . I wanted to thank you so much this song made me believe again and I know you guys are a blessing. Thank you so much

    • Your lovely grandpa will be waiting for you all to join him, as a believer in Jesus. Just think, Ashlee, how Father would have been thinking as Jesus suffered on the cross. Because of the pain and humiliation Jesus went through, all who believe Him will spend eternity with Him. My mum passed away last year, I know she is there with Jesus, waiting for us all lefr here. Hurts when loved ones go, but ask Jesus to take the pain. He will.

  • I heard this song at my sons funeral today, it was his favorite song. He was only 43 years old and had 3 miracles in his life. He was 25 when he was given 12 hours to live. After the pastor and I laid hands on him we knew Jesus would let him live. He received a kidney from a living donor in church. He is in the medical journals as the sickest person from kidney failure ever to survive. Never give up on God to bring you up when your down, the church was packed with all the people he touched in his short life. I’m glad this was his favorite song and I’m glad he accepted Christ when I shared the gospel with him. I can’t wait to be in heaven with him and spend eternity with all my brothers and sisters in Christ it’s going to be awesome.😊🙏❤

  • I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

  • Every time I start slipping in my faith and struggling in this trying life, I listen to this song and their other hymns and I feel the comfort of my savior and the guidance of the Holy Ghost. I’ve always been active in the church but haven’t always appreciated or done as much as I could. A few years back when I first heard this song I was contemplating going inactive. I hadn’t felt close to the gospel and wasn’t really living up to it as much as I could of. After hearing this song, I remembered that I am a child of god and that he loves me no matter my flaws. That he loves me regardless of what sins I have made and no matter how small or big. That he will never forsake me if I don’t forsake him. This song is the reason I stayed active. The reason I chose to go through the temple and take out my own endowments. Because of this song, I was able to renew my faith and work on my personal spiritual experiences and closeness with my savior and Heavenly Father for two years. Those two years were some of the hardest and the best years of my life. After two years of challenges and sacrificing many of the things I used to love more than the gospel (games, movies, tv shows, music, etc.), I was able to go through the temple and take out my own endowments on my birthday in February of this year. One month before COVID caused the temples to shut down. I wouldn’t return any of the challenges I had getting to this point in my life and in my faith for anything in the world. They are what made me the person I am today. They are what shaped my faith in my savior, in his gospel, and my new perspective on life. I know that I have been blessed because of my decision to become fully active again and to go through the temple. I have been blessed in more ways than I count and I know it wouldn’t have been the case had I not fully returned to my Heavenly Father, my savior, and their gospel. I know that this church is true and that the gospel is true. I know that with a burning desire and knowledge. I’m 21 and haven’t shared my testimony since I was 8. I didn’t plan on sharing this much of my testimony but that is what has happened and I know it is something I need to do. Not only for myself but for anyone who reads this and who may need to hear it. I hope that if you are struggling with your faith and your testimony of the church and our savior, that my testimony will help you in whatever capacity that might be . I hope that it gives you hope or reminds you of some of the things I have remembered and learned throughout the past 3 years. I hope it helps you in whatever way you may need help in now. And I hope you all know that you are children of God and that he loves each and every one of you no matter what.

I kept going to Church and learning about the plan of salvation. And when I was twelve or thirteen, I had an epiphany--it all became clear to me. And I realized that I would see my Grandfather again. And it wasn't like I "learned" it--but I FELT it. These two wonderful songs sum up my feelings on earthly life and how it fits in to the whole plan of eternal life. • Lyrics Come Thou fount of every blessing Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love. Here I raise my Ebenezer; Hither by Thy help I'm come; And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood. If you could hie to Kolob In the twinkling of an eye, And then continue onward With that same speed to fly, Do you think that you could ever, Through all eternity, Find out the generation Where Gods began to be? Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend? Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end? I thinks the Spirit whispers, “No man has found ‘pure space,’ Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.” If you could hie to Kolob In the twinkling of an eye, And then continue onward (Come thou fount of every blessing) With that same speed to fly, (Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;) Do you think that you could ever, (Streams of mercy, never ceasing,) Through all eternity, (Call for songs of loudest praise) Find out the generation (Teach me some melodious sonnet,) (Come thou fount of every blessing) Where Gods began to be? (Sung by flaming tongues above.) (Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;) If you could hie to Kolob (Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,) In the twinkling of an eye, (Mount of God's redeeming love.) O to grace how great a debtor Daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness like a fetter, Bind my wandering heart to Thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here's my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above Here's my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above You have no idea how long that took. Let me give you a hint. 20 to 30 minuets. Glad it is done. I love the song by the way! Such beautiful voices!

  • Hello ElenyiMusic! I just wanted to say that your music is absolutely amazing. I am 16 years old and I simply found this song astonishing. Last September I was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I am cured and am well now, but those 6 months of treatment were extremely emotionally and physically painful. I wasn't allowed to go to school or many social gatherings because it was dangerous to my health, so I was super lonely and felt sick constantly. I will spare you the details, but treatment was terrible. Music healed me emotionally during this dark time of mine, and this song had profound impact on both my emotional and physical state. I remember how I was in pain, like always, and just listening to this song and feeling so much joy and happiness. It healed me physically in a way to have my spirit uplifted. Your voices have such incredible power. Thank you for your amazing work!

Apart from their beautiful voices, I love the fact they have a close yet gentle bond with each other and look at each other throughout their singing...it is a shared experience. I also love that they also have their own personal styles and don't try to dress or look the same or if they do wear similar clothes, their individuality is obvious. Well done girls and well done to Dad and Mum for raising kids that harmonize vocally as well as in the way they relate to each other. 10 out of 10!!

  • I listened to this on Easter when I was at home, welcoming in the Spirit before my scripture studies... I had been inactive for a few months and had recently started going back to church after being invited again by some dear friends... And then as I listened to the Spirit, I feel to my knees and had a burning feeling in my heart that I was called to serve a mission... I cried because I knew of its truth. I am asked today what do I want to do when I graduate high school? I respond with I want to serve a mission in my church... I thank you so much for this song. It is one that I love and cherish. Thank you.

    • If you are trusting in your behavior to seal your place in eternity with God then you are will be caught off guard. The bible calls our best works apart from him to be no more than a used tampon. ( look it up filthy rags, its the literal greek translation ) the only way to righteousness is to accept the free gift of God which is salvation thru Christ Jesus. The admittance of my sin is wrong, and his ways are right and the blood of Christ as atonement for ALL my wrong doing, past present and future, PAID IN FULL, NO LONGER A DEBTOR TO SIN AND DEATH! Jesus paid it. All. Now what? We reflect that same loving nature of mercy and forgiveness to those around us, so that we may point to the ONE who did it for us first. We reflect Christ. How do you know how he treated those around Him? There is 4 Gospels and 62 other books in a Bible that will tell you exactly that. Prayer will tell you exactly that. Spending time with other belivers whether at church or at a small gathering will tell you exactly that. I encourage to open your heart to Jesus. He is knocking now but he will not knock forever. Jesus said if you reject Him, you reject the father. Time is at hand. Indecision IS a decision.

The serpent is very cunning Genesis 3:1 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

    • I am so sorry that you are hurting and feeling betrayed. I hope you will lay your pains on the Lord and ask Him to take them for you. He suffered and paid the price of them for you already, I hope that you can receive His gift. 1 Corinthians 13....Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

If you could hie to Kolob In the twinkling of an eye, And then continue onward With that same speed to fly, Do you think that you could ever, Through all eternity, Find out the generation Where Gods began to be? 2. Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend? Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end? Methinks the Spirit whispers, “No man has found ‘pure space,’ Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.”

  • As one who has spent the last nearly 60 years investigating the Church and studying tens of thousands of anti-Mormon books, articles, pamphlets, videos, etc., that has been promulgated, - false, correct and/or twisted and out of context, against the Savior's Church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have concluded that Church leaders always mean well, though they do not get it all correct, all the time, when they express their opinions. But when they speak from revelation, it is pure and true. The latter-day Scriptures are packed full of Christ's doctrine that no evangelical religion can even comprehend - without the enlightening Spirit of God, they crash against the stumbling blocks. And I am a convert, having belonged to them. My father was a free-lance Protestant minister. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and these ladies really express that beautiful Spirit.

    • It troubles you not that the BOM is full of lies? Indians being Jewish? Nor that one of the principle lessons of advice was, "beware of those who offer you Godhood?" That Joseph Smith proclaimed that leadership of the church would be passed down genetically (Joseph Smith III to be the next president (which he was if the Reorganized versions is true). The apparent confusion of JS when he proclaim the Melchiedek priesthood as above the Aronic? Granted, they've quit killing innocents "The Avenging Angels," I can think of no more deeply troubled "faith." Islam is tempting, but Joseph studied Muhamed, which is probably where the idea that women are cattle, came from.

      @ibaconi@ibaconi5 жыл бұрын
    • @@ibaconi Kinda reminds me of an old cartoon I saw in the papers once - a fellow with a scowl on his face walking outside temple square holding a sign with the single word "Bitter" on it. You have dumped so much here in one paragraph yet, I would hardly know where to start. And this is not exactly the forum for holding what will be an endless back and forth tirade followed by a response, ad infinitum. If you read the Bible, you will discover that the entire world has Jewish - or should I rather say - the blood of Abraham (Jacob [Israel]'s grandfather) in them. See Ezek.11:16,17 for example. Joseph Smith was a highly intelligent fellow, but when he was very young in the 1820s, uneducated and going about leasing himself out as a hired hand, farming, treasure hunting, etc., and you want the world believe he sat down during that time and pumped out the super complicated Book of Mormon, much of which interestingly mirrors the world's current 21st century conditions? Now who is telling fables? The Bible does not say anywhere "beware of those who offer you Godhood." Jesus Himself repeated what He as Jehovah taught David in Psalms 82:7 "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High" to the Jews, and just like you, they wanted to stone Him for preaching that those "to whom the word of God comes" are gods, albeit mortal ones, aka "Saints." i.e., holy ones. See John 10:34. Gods come in various spheres. But there is only one God who holds the position of The Supreme Controller of the Universe. And why do you need to have me "troubled?" I know the "BOM" is true. But then, we should be discussing the beauty of the spirit of these girls singing delightful music in praise of God and not grovelling in the dark mire of anti-Mormonism.

      @dddoda@dddoda5 жыл бұрын
    • @@dddoda You point out a huge difference between Christianity and LDS. Christians are monotheists. See John 1: 1-5. We believe there is only one God, and our men will not become gods. I was interested to see that your quote from Psalms 82 does use gods plural. I'll have to do some research about that. Interesting that LDS only believes that men will become gods, not women.
