    • The smooth apex movement is because its the descendant to titanfall 2 (it takes place after the titanfall 2 campaign and multiplayer) thats why its so smooth sometimes but its not on par with titanfalls movement

  • My main gripe with apex is that it’s BR first. They have a playlist with more traditional gamemodes but it’s very clear that they treat this “mixtape” playlist as a warmup mode. I can honestly say that the most fun I’ve had in the game was a few weeks ago when the control mode was permanently available and not on a 20 minute rotation

    @mechaflood2247@mechaflood224711 ай бұрын

  • As an apex player I appreciated this video, for the 3rd parties I recommend learning armor swaps. When you kill someone go into their death box and grab their armor as fast as possible, it will swap your current cracked one and give you more health to deal with any 3rd parties that may come. Apex’s gunplay and movement is second to none but has tons of issues due to being run on a modified source engine (a old outdated engine used for games like half life and portal) and with it being so old it comes with lots of bugs and issues

  • i was witness to a lot of overwatch gamers trying apex when it blew up, while i had played both games quite a lot. My take on the shift is that, because the overwatch community is so ranked-focused, all the streamers were getting right into ranked as soon as possible, but i think for a game like apex its crucial to your enjoyment of the game to just learn in a fun and casual environment like pubs, where people are more willing to fight. i remember watching flats and emongg playing apex and getting disheartened cuz ranked is just not as fun if youre not accustomed to the game yet. my advice to new apex players would be dont be afraid to run it up in pubs until youre comfortable doing ranked

  • a good way to take control of a third party situation is trying to not fight in a choke point, you don't want to be here because you'll get pinched if a third party comes along. if you're getting third partied try to make the two enemy squads fight each other while playing more passively to not draw attention to yourself. then you become the third party of your own fight

It's proof that SVB isn't just a great OW streamer, but a great content creator. • I played Apex from its release until the release of OW2, I'd never played OW1 so I didn't have any expectations for it but I was pleasantly surprised by how simply FUN the gameplay was. As much as I love Apex that's kind of been my issue with it, Apex is a skill-based BR FPS and it makes the gameplay loop really tedious and tiring (especially if you played for 3 years like I did) and while Blizzard may suck the core gameplay they've sculpted for Overwatch is too FUN to put down sometimes, idk maybe that'll change after I'm jaded

    @noname-hf9ty@noname-hf9ty11 ай бұрын
    • I also played Apex for 4 years. Started playing OW 2 months ago, both games have nearly the same problems, both struggle with tons of mediocrity, while having good core gameplay. If I could start with basic tier loadouts maybe but between starting blank and, I'll be honest, having maybe average aim all I could really do is watch Apex while getting by with OW. Found DRG last year and that has scratched my Coop itch so maybe Apex is worth looking into if I ever want to get back to a PvP shooter.

If you don't want to land in a fight you really don't have to and you can basically guarantee good armours and weapons if that's how you want to play it. I would say though best play it with people who don't mind landing a little further from the action though as randoms will scream at you and that's no fun for anyone.

  • Excellent video SVB! I love this sort of thoughtful content! In terms of what to play next I have a few suggestions of what I like. 1. Mechabellum- a new autobattler that is excellent! If you have played Desert Storm custom games on Starcraft 2 or other autobattlers I think you will like it and it just came out. I already have over 100 hours in a few weeks and have had more than 5 friends buy it. 2. Heroes of the Storm ARAM- The game my friend group keeps coming back to when we aren't all playing the same game. I get it the game is dead, despite that the ARAM for this game is still active, a shitload of fun, and far superior to alternatives like League or DOTA 2. 3. Finally you can do the popular games for which you probably don't need comments. League, DOTA, CS, Siege, Valorant, Fortnite, etc. Just go down the most watched list. I get it those will probably get more views, I still think 1 and 2 are more fun. Cheers!

  • 3rd partying isn’t the biggest deal when you get more used to the game. Having map sense for positioning and potential escapes plans, recognizing a third party voice line, and just generally knowing when/where 3rd parties will occur really help. For instance, when 2 of the last 3 squads are fighting, you need to fully expect the 3rd to team to join in.

    @CGingerbreadman@CGingerbreadman10 ай бұрын
    • For sure! Getting stuck in that tunnel was a rookie move, but you'd only know to move out of their ASAP if you've fought and been third partied there before. So positioning and rotating are your friends in that instance.

Any early fights I taken I would tell myself it was just one step closer to getting to top 10. Honestly Ive had some of my best games ever this season playing aggressive. Had so many 1v3s that no fill teammates is still frustrating but way more enjoyable now, one thing i can take from this rank season is it thought how to 1v3 much better than I ever could before. • 15:40 Tbf, both those clips were in areas where it's very dangerous to fight. Choke points like that are risky to take fights because you don't have an option to retreat back to. Depending on the situation in a different location, you might be able to retreat to a safe location from both teams, or you just have to wipe them fast, armor swap, and try to stabilize. Having legends that helps with either option is also great. If you have a Bangalore, you can do option A with smoke grenades and try to los both teams. Or in option B, having a Catalyst throw traps and reinforce doors could help your team stabilize. I know sometimes you can't do anything and just get wiped, but that's just the game.

Outside of that, it could be fun to see you play Sid Meier's Pirates for seven days and see if you can rescue all the family members and get revenge on the Evil Count during that time. The naval combat might interest you even if the dueling can be cheesed though sometimes actually is a challenge. The biggest hurdle though is dancing with the governor's daughter.

  • Elimination rating points in ranked scale in value depending on your position in the match (if they have updated this please let me know if i'm wrong). Basically if a kill in the bottom placement might be worth 10 point, but if you get top 3 each kill might be worth 50 and first place i think each kill is a 100 points? So yes, position closer to first place is absolutely the most important overall. But kills is necessary in higher ranks when the entry fee is higher. Otherwise you can get 5th place and almost gain no points if you don't have any kills. It's a rating system that is very grindy. EDIT: Also skill rating points is a mystery value, but it says it's based on your performance relative to your rank and the ranks of enemies you defeat. It also rewards stuff like 1v2/1v3 and generall skillfull plays. The rat problem really proved to me how important scanner legends are. I started playing double scanners this season (Bloodhound + Seer/Crypto) and a Fuse on that and we haven't had a rat problem since. Or atleast we don't get jumped from nowhere since we see them through walls lol. This makes me remember the bunker strategy i used to run with two friends. Caustic + Wattson + Rampart and bunkering down in a house in end circle is OP. It's even stronger now with Catalyst i think. I solo'ed to diamond in season 8 and 12. I loved those seasons, but i think they where one of the easier ones? Don't remember how ranked worked exactly back then but i know it felt more like a "if i play enough i will get there" type of meta. I was just playing Fuse all the time being an annoying twat with grenades and sniper from far away. Got kills i didn't deserve all the time, and in end circles i made the other teams kill each other so i got higher placement. Didn't care about my kills getting "stolen" if the team wiped and i go +1 position. I also learned those seasons to view team mates who didn't communicate as meat shields or chess pieces for me to move around and play around. It wasn't until high plat and finally diamond where i had team mates i was confident enough in to listen to everything they say.

Pro players and e sports team just plays like that, they take posistion, tries not to get caught of guard while playing for the ring, and tries to survive and get the win in the top 5 chaos. i started to like royal rumble type of thing once you get in top 5 and you can feel a win is there for u to grab.

  • Was an apex player , and every time i played it , it felt like torture , overwatch may be in a greedy and horrible spot. But in terms of fun , overwatch beats apex in every way possible. You have to try hard every match to not only try and have a chance against 99% of the predator lobby. (Predator is like fighting a full lobby of top 500) and its always like that. And then i met overwatch 2 , i never played ow 1 but i understand the frustration on the pve and the lack of love the community and game has from the devs , but still better than apex

There's so much you could do with it: You could have a game with typical BR gameplay You could have longer matches with BR and survival/crafting and hunting aspects You could have a narrative/campaign game You could have a top down arena management game like Civilization You could have an open world game

It's especially bad if the dropship is going over one of those POIs with a big hole in the roof (like the king's canyon portal). 90% of the time your JM will drop 10s after everyone else is already in there, get knocked immediately, and leave, before you've even picked up a gun.

  • To avoid 3rd parties, you always need to make sure you have a plan B escape route in case things go wrong. If the fight takes too long or you sense you're gonna get thirded soon, just apply that plan B and reset. Then, you can come back and be the 3rd party. That's the way most good players play 😅

When you get good enough, you will be able to fight off 3rd parties or even win them. The only downside to this is that you have to invest a lot of hours in the game. But the rush you get after dominating the 2nd or/and 3rd party, priceless.

  • I have always said about BR ranked systems. Until you hit masters or even diamond, prioritize fights and elims with the greatest rewards still placing top. Then when you get to diamond/masters reduce the reward for getting kills as then the "real" game should begin where everyone is a killer and the separation between the top and next tier is brain, i.e. placements.

  • Apex player here 5k hour andy biggest problem with the ranked system is like overwatch (which i also do play) is that you can go 49/51 and still gain you dont lose that much points so there are actually a lot of scenarios where its genuinely just worth dying to get into a new game rather than playing and finishing the current lobby that you are in for example if your squad died or whatever kills not mattering as much isn't that big of a problem because the entire idea is that those people you passed by is going to become a problem later in the endgame which is where in theory majority of the players should die but it rarely gets to that point because the lobbies are so mixed and there are just high rank players just running it down since there is no penalty for not doing that (edit oh and the magical bonus are your kill points being added)
