This is the best human makeup I've ever seen Danhausen use!
Danhausen truly is a master of disguise.
I was at a small indy show outside of St. Louis three or four years ago. Before the show began, I was using the john when this short guy wanders in while I'm washing my hands, whips out a shaving kit and begins dabbing blue paint all over his face. Obviously he was one of the workers, so I thought nothing of it. So later, he comes out as the second match of the night under the name "Danhausen A.D." It wasn't nearly the fun-loving, very nice-very evil character we know now, but more like a male Kris Statlander with somewhat of an alien futuristic vibe. It's been interesting to see the character evolve into its current form.

I didn't even know Danhausen existed until about a few months ago. I think he's cool as fuck now.
I just started watching his KZhead videos last week and now I’m on a deep dive into this character.
I found out about him on Twitter, watched and read and followed along on there for awhile now started on KZhead and man I love this guy. I really want the best for him in this career cause it's such a fun gimmick/personality

This interview really needs a part 2 because since this was put out, Danhausen has signed with AEW, his KZhead channel has more than tripled its subscribers in the space of three weeks, and he is more over than most of the active wrestlers in AEW’s roster without having set foot in the ring yet!
I stumbled across this because of him getting time in AEW. Love that Danhausen hausen!
The reason they're aren't as over is because they're literally nobodies. Except edge & Christian, moxley punk omega & a small few others, they're all indie mudshow junk, elite wankers

This guy GETS wrestling in its truest form. Not many people can create a CHARACTER (more than just a heightened version of self), think it all the way through from beginning and make it last long term. This character has the potential to be Kane or Taker levels of ironic.
It's funny how wrestling goes in circles. Gimmicks became too Goofy and unpopular, then the era of "reality", and now the business is so exposed and saturated that you really need to develop a character in order to stand out against everyone else
Can't forget with social media the characters aren't as believable as they use to be the mystery is gone but with this man especially this interview starting in character he keeps that old school mystery and ora. Hats off to Danhausen for his commitment to his craft and dedication to his fanhausens. Love that Danhausen

I am a 55 year old man, that grew up with professional wrestling in the Pacific Northwest. I don't have the same zest any longer, but Danhausen kills me! I am a Donovan AND Danhausen fan! I plan to show my 10 year old grandson some videos!
My attention span doesn't last long, but Damhausen is legit the most entertaining personality in wrestling, at least to me. I can totally see a cartoon and even a comic book being made after him. I hope he sees every bit of success he has worked for.

A demon possessing Conan actually made me laugh out loud.
Listen to his Conan podcast appearance he did recently. I thought it was a bit for his channel but no, he was actually interviewed by Conan. Hearing him and Conan talk is a joy! I hope Conan keeps his promise and one day we see him do something with Danhausen at a show.
Dude looks so normal outside the gimmick. Ha. Danhausen is a dude that cynics like myself initially want to roll my eyes over, but he eventually will win you over because he's just so fun to watch. He's got the Orange Cassidy appeal. His recent stuff with PCO is great.
He's definitely got something awesome going on. Jim Cornette pretty much despises everything to do with Modern Wrestling, yet every since a few people sent him Cameo videos from Danhausen, he himself has become a Fanhausen of Danhausen! Keep up the good work, and character development. Everything you've done has been awesome so far.

Man he’s so entertaining like a movie character I can’t stop watching him
I am the very definition of a wrestling purist, but I'm also a fanhausen. I absolutely detest comedy wrestling, but I love this guy. What he does is completely unique. There has never been anything like it before. He even managed to win Jim Cornette over. That is saying something. He turned his look and lack of size into an advantage, because this character wouldn't work if he was a big guy. It's pure genius. He talks about not having to go all out all the time, but that's the genius of the character. He doesn't even really have to kill himself in the ring. He can just go out and cut promos and people will love him. He has developed it to the point that he can do anything and it will be great. The other special part of it is that he does a comedy character while still respecting the business, which I like.

The character is funny because of his old school, dead straight commitment to the gimmick. That's why it works.
That's a lie, Corny liked him a year ago, when he wasn't aware that Danhausen was a joke. Now he is despised by him, like he should always have.
Danhausen is a very original character, which I think is what has made him so popular. Its the perfect balance of comedy and wrestling.
He's like PeeWee Herman, Heath Ledgers Joker, and Svengoolie love child. In otherwords, pretty sweet.
Mix a bit of Beetlejuice in there too.

@@kolz4ever1980 i hate ledgers joker, only a dead guy gets the kind of credit he does for overacting like he did. i liked his earlier movies (not the gay cowboy one.. not that i have ever seen it) but never has his head been the right shape to play the joker (same with jack really)! the joker has a LONG face so only actors like tim roth or maybe john waters can do the role justice in the first place, heath and jack both have pumpkins on top of their shoulders! it makes no sense for them to be CAST in the role to begin with.

I wanna see Darby Allen vs Danhausen in ROH or AEW. Would love to see them stat in a feud and then form a tag team or stable. Please Tony Kahn and the Elite make this happen.
I think Danhausen/Darby/Sting would make a great trio. As would Black/Butcher/Blade. Then make a fued from that.
@@Ryanonfire03 After a match, Black comes to end the career of Darby because he believes that he is to dangerous to himself and others and wants to free him from his eternal suffering. Sting comes in to save Darby from Black, but is assaulted from behind by Butcher and Blade leading to Black ordering them to hold Sting and Darby up for a pair of Black Mass Kicks. However, before he can hit them the light's go out and Danhausen's music hits and he comes in to make the save along along side CM Punk leading to Danhausen/Darby/Sting vs Black/Butcher/Blade. I only add CM Punk to the mix because of the respect he has for Darby and Sting, and also because it wouldn't be as believable to have Danhausen scare off Black who is still fresh to AEW and one of the more established tag teams in Butcher and Blade.
I don’t think it would work because Danhausen is almost COMPLETELY about the character, not the wrestler - as a wrestlerhausen, he’s too much about the comedy, where Darby Allin isnt

What really got me into Danhausen was months of his name popping up across media and me having no idea who this guy was. Come two months ago, I look up a video showcasing him and immediately I'm on board, I love this, I am a fanhausen
The 3 facehausens of Danhausen Jim Cornette lead me to Danhausen now I give him monies for Blimps and things of such sorts

it's so cool to hear him saying in this interview a year ago that he hopes to get more TV time and more exposure, and now he's signed to AEW and doing drop-in spots on their flagship show. I'm really intrigued to see him get matches and storylines there. He seems like such a genuine and creative guy.
Danhausen should start doing vignettes as the "nice human looking guy" to lure people in then once in do a complete one eightyhausen on them.

I worked as a nursing assistant in several nursing homes years ago. It got to be a bit much when I was the one who was always called to do post-mortem care when someone passed. I helped the local coroner tag and bag lots of dead people. Anyway, I really don't watch any wrestling these days, but Danhausen has piqued my curiosity. Great interview.
This is the only out of character interview I can find of Danhausen WITHOUT the facepaint post-creation of the current character (minus his Conan thing, but it didn't get as deep into things) and I loved every second of this interview. I was waiting for this interview for SOOOOO long!

the best way is that like MJF if the real life stuff is kept to a minimum then it's fine. If I see a character break out of kayfabe super often it can kind of take me out of it (Chris Jericho) Still love him but when he tries to be heel now days I can't really bite it but still find it entertaining
