8:27 everyone should be aware that this choker is a historical artifact that belongs to India, once belonging to the Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh.
I was looking for this comment!!
You are right
Sad to see how even history is like a ball in the hands of the looters
@@sindyiathakur5507 Yep it's definitely important to know but I don't think it was anyway her doing (and she shouldn't get backlash for it). She seemed to have no idea of what she was actually picking in the video. If anyone should be getting controversy about the choker it shouldn't be emma, but Cartier that brought it out in the first place without thinking about it's origins.
The only thing that infuriates me about this series is it’s never 24 hours. We didn’t even see the met gala morning of! 😂
let’s hope they drop a second video, the get ready with me 😭
I know! Also wanted to see her Jaír transformation
I mean it technically was as titled it just wasn’t her getting ready like I’m assuming most of us thought it would be
right?!
LOL
Emma is just so effortlessly cool. I can only aspire.

Same - her style has a huge influence on me. She's just the best
she's the coolest without even trying
She’s boring wtf are y’all even talking about
Not really
8:24 The necklace she is talking about was created by Cartier for a man named Maharaja of Patiala or the king of the kings in India. It has a very dark piece of history behind it and I would really like if that piece of jewelry was given proper credit
Really? Why do they possess a historical piece?
SAME She could have referenced the Indian history linked to it.

The fact that Emma is 20 years old, 20!! And she’s a great communicator, already has a growing business as well, amazing role model 👍
Also the fact that her bf artist name is literally role model lol
yeah thats really crazy
And that’s how we pressure young people to overachieve: look, she’s only 20! Meanwhile my career and I: (nothing much). It should not really matter how old you are, 20 or 50, some of us get really lucky to get famous, and that’s ok.

@@sgl332 Unrelated but Jesus loves you Have an amazing day
The fact that it was "prepping for Coachella" to "prepping for the met gala" so proud of her
Let's get a history lesson that should have been given in this video. In 1928, the Maharaja of Patiala decided to turn his De Beers diamond, the world's seventh-largest diamond, into a choker. He commissioned Cartier to make the necklace. The necklace mysteriously disappeared after his son Maharaja Yadavindra Singh last wore it in 1948. It was recovered half a century later by Cartier representative Eric Nussbaum in London. However, it was a skeleton of its former self. It no longer had the De Beers stone and most of its Burmese rubies. So Cartier set about restoring the necklace sans the De Beers and other original stones. Basically it is a stolen Indian choker which would have been worth 30 million had it's main centre piece diamond not been taken.
so glad someone talked about this. i cant believe she didn't mention this when she was looking through the jewellery
She probably didn’t know, or maybe she said something and it got cut out
Thanks sis for mentioning!
👏 👏 👏 Adore Emma but not including this was a serious mistake!
@@marssnottheplanet I don’t hate her or anything, but as a public figure or celebrity it’s your responsibility to be aware and do the necessary research, because you have all the funds and resources to. So saying that she didn’t know, doesn’t lessen anything, it rather shows ignorance. I repeat again, this is just facts and a conclusion, no hate.
I really loved Emma the interviewer, she makes people comfortable around her. I really love how she's just vibing with everyone ❤️ am proud of her ❤️

I think Emma Chamberlain is one of the very few "influencer" who really deserves to be at Met Gala. So kind, humble and nice, incredible girl. Hope her the best.💜💜
And her interview skills are amazing. She matches every single persons vibe
Why is no one talking about the jewelry? Gilded age ?? Wtf that choker necklace belongs to maharaja of Patiala. It was lost in 1946 that piece had 7th biggest diamond of the world.
IKR😆
Probably a replica. Calm down.
@@46.56.A. it isn’t a replica. it’s the real one.
@@46.56.A. I really wish it was
It wasnt lost it was stolen
8:23 that is piece of India's history, it belonged to Maharaja of patiala, Bhupinder Singh which was later stolen and now "owned" by Cartier! I don't blame emma to be honest cause clearly she isn't aware about the fact that it is a stolen piece of artefact but I'm bashing cartier for lending it to be worn by some celebrities. It is extremely disrespectful!
And why is it extremely disrespectful? The guy is dead. Get over it.
I think i just lost lost some braincells lmao your comment makes no sense sis.
Followed her since the vlogs to San Fran with her dad she’s so awesome and relaxing to watch, seeing how her journey and passion was real and got her here. Proud viewer moment xx ❤️❤️
Emma is really a QUEEN, her persona, simplicity and attitude brings so much joy and a flirt to the video, that I actually watched it twice ...
First vlog i ever watched of Emma’s was her vlogging her day at school… NOW, LOOK AT HER! A professional but still humble queen.
that extravagant necklace belonged to the maharaja of patiala and was taken by the british
why is no one talking about the STOLEN necklace
EXACTLY
Exactly
Exactly, that necklace have blood on it of patiala's maharaja
Emma has been such a comfort figure on social media since day 1, there is something so relaxing about her complete emotional honesty. Thank god for her, and she slayed this year AGAIN
Also the fact that just because it was a 'south asian' piece of jewelry, why should the western media focus on it? They would never ever let this get the spotlight, as long as it belongs to countries they still discriminate in there own channels
Aptly said
Has India come out in public and asked for it back? Or have they not
that necklace was so similar to a famous Indian jewelry piece, which is looted by British people..that is still missing 😢..how is it so similar to that jewelry...that necklace was called the famous patiala necklace...where did they get it🤔🤯
It's not "similar" it IS the real thing! She's wearing stolen jewels!
She absolutely nailed the theme, the outfit, the accessories, stunning. Learnt about what a table read for the met is too!
If the theme was stolen jewelry then she definitely nailed it.

Emma is so confident and comfortable that I literally almost forgot this was a vogue vid and not her yt channel

the necklace....
I love this woman with my entire soul and being. She is an absolute breath of fresh air, and the way celebrities interact with her, we see a more human version of them vs what we see rehearsed in the media
That beautiful piece of jewelry once belonged to Maharaja of Patiala India
Emma has a timeless style that complements her old soul and that's what makes her a refreshing fusion of humble and haute.
The Necklace belongs to the Legendary King of patiala ,India , which was lost in 1948 ...
The britishers stole that choker when they invaded India…
THANK YOU VOGUE. I needed my daily dose of Emma ngl
She was probably one of the only half-dozen people to actually research the Gilded Age and understood the assignment
I don't believe she really researched the gilded age considering the necklace she wore is Stolen. She said "it's a piece of history" with no knowledge that's it's Stolen Indian Jewels. Yes British colonizers stole it!
Did she really?
Here because of Maharaja of Patiala's Necklace
Her outfit is amazing. It really takes a humble person to pair a thrifted kids jacket with a Cartier watch. She is more about the aesthetic which I really admire.
we need a get ready video please!
she looked so amazing, the tiara was the best part and her jewelry and hair really made the look
They should have told her the history of the necklace that she wore.
What's the history? I have no idea 😅
Those are the jewels of the Maharaja of Patiala. That’s a piece of India’s stolen history, not a fancy piece of jewellery to lend out to celebrities. Disrespectful on so many levels,

How did he come to have the necklace I wonder?
@@aljones75 Hey! He DID NOT steal it! 😂
Why are you pissed at her lmaoo she probably just thought it was a necklace Cartier made and gave her it's not that abnormal cause they are a jwellery brand. Be mad at Cartier and the colonizers
I’ve only seen her a couple of times in snippets or youtube compilation videos, but I feel like she is calmer and has much more relaxing nature. I really like how articulate and engaging she is with people.
Emma is the friend we all need in our lives
Does she know about the "necklace" yet or does she choose not to ask it's history?
She doesn't seem to care
No lie the cinematography at 3:10 is gorgeous. The slanted angle, the lighting & exposure levels, moving background, it’s wonderful and gives me Y2K vibes cause of Emma’s fashion
Yes!!!
she is A fashion icon in that moment
💯💯
You can tell she did her research along with her stylist for this years MET (unlike almost everyone else who went🙄🙄 besides a few select celebs) cause honestly I loved her outfit and it fit the theme a lot with the modern twist and it looked good on her
Ya what a research!!! Wearing a stolen jewelry with a dark -bloody history to the met gala

I didn't grow up watching Emma on KZhead but I love seeing her in videos like these. Watching her discuss and take notes about the Met interviews was so cool. She seems confident in what she's doing but is very humble about it. I love how she carries herself! I can only aspire to be as graceful as her. 💛
that "extravagant" necklace belonged to a Maharaja of India and was stolen by the colonisers. Can't believe you just wore it without acknowledging the colonial history of that piece.
I honestly believe that Emma’s existence and the thought that there are other people like Emma out there, gives me comfort
She looks identical to Timothee Chalamet. It’s actually uncanny.
Oh my god she does - how have I never noticed that
Finally. Have always thought so.
I have been feeling this since 2017. but they loom really similar even the way they move their mouths while speaking. timothees own sister doesn't look like him. what's ironic is that Emma has said that she has a crush on timmy.
