I Tested $1200 Worth Of 100W+ GaN Wall Chargers - Here Are My Top 5
Looking to get a wall charger that can all your devices at maximum speed? I've tested 12+ of the most popular GaN Wall Chargers with wattages above 100W. I've done multiple speed tests involving solo charging, charging under max loads, multiple device charging through laptops and multiple device charging through the charger.
Be warned though, these chargers are generally not cheap BUT there is one in my test group that was affordable AND fast!
Here are the 5 best 100W Plus Chargers (with Amazon links):

you should have talked about power efficiency and safety measures for charging
Was looking forward to a new charger review from you!
I have the Spigen GaN III 1402 PD3.1 140W charger model PE2109UJ. It supports 140W 28V/5A EPR on the port that's marked with a laptop icon. The other port is 100W SPR 20V/5A. I use it as my bedside charger for my 16" MBP M1 Max. Plug the MagSafe 3 cable into one port, then the other. Check what System Information - Power - AC Charger Information shows for each. One will say 140W, while the other will say 100W. When you test charger protocol support with your KM003C you either need to have an EPR cable connected on the other side or use EPR cable emulation. Generally, a real cable is more reliable. Always test all ports on a charger individually with nothing else plugged into a multiport charger. Some cables are active and will limit power on adjacent ports simply by being plugged in without a device. The Voltme Revo 100W does not have an OSHA NRTL recognized safety listing e.g UL, ETL, TUV, SGS, etc. That's a red flag.
This timing couldn’t be more perfect. I’ll be sure to buy through one of your links
Nice tie Monty!
no one goes to the lengths and the depths to do reviews like you thats why you stand out and are an extremely reliable source of information in my view
What about the Anker one?
Yeah, that seems like a bit of an odd omission. 🤷🏻♀️
One of them was on the table (150W I think?), I am assuming it didn’t make the top 5. I really like my 120W 737 (although it only outputs 100W and the power splitting is stupid). I may get their super tiny 100W one.
This crappy "reviewer" repeatedly does this on these videos. Claims to test lots of units, "recommends" 5, omits all information about the other models tested; apparently, viewers must meticulously pause the video to figure out the other models tested because just "trust me bro" is in effect. Also, by the channel name it's Canadian, but are the quoted prices from Amazon Canada or Amazon US? The distinction for the pricing is never stated.
It is they weren’t mentioned at all.
Well the video title does state “Here are my top 5” so it would makes sense to only show the top 5 he tested that he thinks based on the tests that are the best. Hopefully he makes a longer form video showcasing the results of each charger but that video might be hours long.
I own an iPhone, Apple Watch, and MacBook Air, which collectively utilize three USB Type-C ports with three different connectors (MagSafe, Watch charger, and the MBA magnetic cord). If I ever need to charge another device, like headphones with a USB-C to USB-C connection, I have to disconnect one of the existing cables. It would be convenient if one of these companies could develop a 140-160W charger with four USB-C ports.
I get why they have USB-A ports, but come on I would much rather have a C port (I could use my C-A adapters if I needed to).
@@hypernova7 100%. They gotta accept the USB-A port is a thing of the past and go full USB type C at this point.
I bought the Aohi after seeing it featured on a Denki video. Best charging brick I have bought or used.
I got the same Voltme charger recently too, it works great. I do agree that it runs warmer than some other 100w chargers, not horribly hot though.
Nice video keep up the good work
Did you test the 150W Anker 747?
I got the yellow one and love it. Color is cool also
I feel like you should consider weight for future testing! I recently switched from ugreen multiport to a small single port 65w because they’d always fall out of outlets! A dealbreaker for sure
6:19 How can the charger be faster on solo charging a MacBook, if it's only 100w compared to 140w from the original apple charger, pls explain, thx
Thanks for the informative video. Could you do a video about Qi2 and “Made For Magsafe” chargers since Qi2 is going to be mainstream soon?
What about the anker 150w or 140w ?
Could Apple devices pull less power then possible if it's not an Apple charger? And was the cable rated for higher wattages? I have the Aohi, I picked it up after getting the cable set. Really enjoying it.
What about satechi 165 or 200 watt gan multiple ports ? Could you please try it and give us your opinion
According to Ugreen, it puts out 140w in single port mode. So it’s at least as good as the Apple single charger. In 2-port mode it puts out 100w + 60w, then 65w+65w+30w in 3-port mode, and 65w+65w+5+5 in 4-port mode
Hi, any reco on how to remove a scratch from the applewatch screen? rhinoshield mentions cerium oxide polish. but does it remove the oleophobic coating? and can you reapply the oleophobic coating to the screen?
So far for me the Aohi one has been a champ!
You could try use one of those cables that show the power to find out what each port can do.
The #3 VoltMe currently has some coupons bringing it down to $22.25 - that's a steal at that price
I wish you would’ve tried the razer one
ive been waitinv for this video. awesone content, keep it up
Hi, I bought the USB C Charger, Baseus 100W PD GaN3 Fast Wall Charger Block, 4-Ports [2USB-C + 2USB], it worked for my MSI Flip 2in1 laptop, but it did not work for my Thinkpad x1 yoga 7 2in1. Do you know why?
Missed you!
Greta vid! The Ugreen one, what were temps like when not max-loading it?? Been looking at few Ugreen multiport charger, including this one and its smaller siblings.
Spigen link not working, product not appearing. *shakes magic amazon wand*
Love your videos, always refer to them when buying something for my iphone. Plus Monty is super cute.
do a video of which cables actually charge above 70w for real with these bricks
Oh nice I needed this video. I'm debating which high wattage charger to buy. Are higher the wattage better?
Can you send me the iPad that you tested on because I can run it using the TIYP-C port? It doesn’t matter what you send because they work with the same port. In fact, it is a dream that is almost coming true. Please reply and thank you.
The AOHI is now $68?! 😭
No Anker love this time?
Probably didn't get their products for free, so can't recommend them when it had to be purchased with actual money.
what about nomad?
I thought it was a good thing if the charging brick actually gets hotter because then that means the device doesn't get as hot for the device battery.
Love Cutie Monty! ❤️ looking like a distinct Gentleman😘
6:36 wrong, you said 135....
Try Baseus
You shouldve trues the Razer GaN charger! Have had it for a while and it’s my favourite charger ever. Mostly because of how they implemented their travel adaptors (should be a primary feature for these type of chargers) and it’s got an indicator light aswell :)
Monty helps balance out the review 🎉
Never disappoints on his videos
is there a reason your links never work?
This channel funnels them through their own site to hide the referral link. An installed ad blocker or DNS provider is likely blocking it out.
No shit he didn’t review the anker GalNitrate
👍
Ugreen go brrrrrr
How old is Monty? He gives me old man vibes 😆
Oh yeah new video I know it’s gonna be great already
Where's Val??? 😭
She left him 😢
I love your reviews. The only thing I could ask for is to add Celsius too when talking about temperature. Having to look up the conversions myself is a bit annoying. Love Monty the dog though
I have the Voltme but my use case was to mostly charge around half the watts-steam deck or two phones. I generally don't like the idea of maxing out the capacity and would rather bump up to the next tier, like the 140 Voltme to charge around 100. That might be a PC building power supply way of thinking.
excellent videos as always. Allow me to quote a very reliable source. Ok, not quote but regurgitate what an attorney who specialized in going after counterfeit electronics told me. He's cut open many, many of these type of units. The weight often comes from simple lead shot they put inside to make it heavy and fool people into thinking it is of higher quality.
I’m sooo early 😂
What happened to your hair?
Did I pee the ridge wallet MagSafe on his phone… when do we get the video ??
Another misleading video showing you shouldn't be trusted. You clearly don't understand USB Type-C specifications and how many of these adhere to that. Any model that can achieve over 100W charging through a single Type-C port is using the newer USB Power Delivery 3.1 specification which added Extended Power Range (EPR) capabilities. If it's not listed as such on the packaging, that's the fault of the manufacturer, but it likely is & you neither show the packaging long enough in the video nor clearly display the "fine print" (you claim you read that @ 2:15, but apparently that's not important enough to show to viewers) for anyone to check; you even have a tester (the ChargerLAB Power-Z KM003C, shown @ 5:11) that clearly shows the Apple 140W charger in USB PD 3.1 EPR mode, but remain ignorant to these standards. 3 of the 5 models: the Apple 140W ("#2"), the ugreen nexode pro 160W ("#4")
I have the Spigen GaN III 1402 PD3.1 140W charger model PE2109UJ that he tested. It can charge my 2021 MBP M1 Max 16 at full speed. Verified in both System Information and with my KM003C. He for some reason doesn't think that's the case even though he claims to have thoroughly tested it. Few chargers are USB-IF certified unfortunately but most reputable ones are at least safety listed. The VoltMe he recommended is not safety listed, nor did he mention that it wasn't. That's bad. We're trusting AC chargers with our lives and our homes. People have been electrocuted and chargers have caught fire.
😎👍
