It all makes so much sense. It's all based on a true story; the guy we see in the field is Julian Reverchon, a botanist. You can see in the video, a guy is making a sculpture out of cardboard and adding flowers to it - that's Kevin Obregon. In 2012, Kevin Obregon created a hideous statue in honour of Julian Reverchon and that statue was placed in The Valley View Mall. The mall was known for moving the creepy stature around on its wheels in the mall. A while ago, the mall closed down and was abandoned. The statue is still in that abandoned mall. In the following videos, the guy who's recording finds stairs in a field (the same field that Reverchon is in this video I'm assuming). The stairs lead to an abandoned mall which is a copy of the real Valley View Mall and you can see the construction plans for the mall in that video.
If I recall, I think the Giant was left alone all the way up to the demolition of Valley View. I'd be a little upset too if I had spent years trying to enlighten people as art only to be called creepy & ultimately left alone forgotten - demolished.
The Giant was absorbing the emotional energy of all the people at the mall and when he was left alone began to wake up.
well I think he actually looks quite nice, not hideous at all :(
Not really. It was used for a parade then after it was transported to Valley View Mall. As far as I know, everything else you said there is true.

Kane has proven several months removed from The Backrooms series that he is not just an analog horror filmmaker. He’s an analog horror prodigy
He's not removed from the backrooms series, the reason he isn't making backrooms content on youtube is because he's helping make a backrooms movie

This video is so much more ominous after watching The Rolling Giant. Amazing work, man!
I don't get it can anyone explain?
@@aqeddxx519the rolling giant is the newest upload, it came out yesterday, and has no business being as dreadful as it is. I’d recommend watching it without skipping forward or anything because it’s all important
@@aqeddxx519 Someone found out in the comments section of part 3 that the dude with all the flowers and stuff at the beginning of this vid is real world botanist Julien Reverchon. The thing the person is building in this video is what was chasing Wyatt around in the mall (which was based off of valley view mall), it is actually a sculpture of Julien Reverchon made by Dallas artist Kevin Obergon that was left in valley view mall even after its abandonment. It's pretty confusing and i personally dont know if julien or kevin have any significance to the story or not considering they are both real people.
@@aqeddxx519 Oh and btw julien reverchon died in 1905, the dude in the vid is an actor, though i am pretty sure kevin obergon is still alive, though i'm not sure if he helped kane make this video.
I think the man in this video is Julian Reverchon
SPOILER ALLERT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED TO PART 3! So many questions. Here are some things I've noticed here and have like NO idea what they mean but maybe someone else can figure it out. There are quite a number of things that I'm having a hard time telling if they are just cinematography or intentional story telling decisions. - At the beginning half every color EXCEPT green has been removed. This is also repeated at the end of Part 3 - The flower being picked at the beginning appears on the page at 3:00. This would seem to indicate that the man at the beginning is the same one crafting the mask. - The man sketching could have possibly seen something that made him draw and craft that mask. Additionally the shot at 1:18 feels like a POV shot of something watching him. - 1:41 there is clear audible thunder. I think this is somehow important because there is clear and audible thunder in Part 3 at 43:30 where the filming guy says "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" and there is a flash thunder just like this and you see what appears to be 2 dead horses and 2 dead men laying on the ground for a second. I also think there are more times where you hear faint thunder and it becomes louder and louder the more "amped up" the rolling giant becomes like at 42:40. (side note there is the term rolling thunder) May not mean anything not really sure. The thunder persists even further when they show our cameraman dead at the end of part 3. - Vegetation also seems to be very very important somehow. The Mall in part 3 becomes overgrown with vegetation. There is a heavy emphasis on the color green which is the color of plants. - I also feel like there is some symbolism of death here and being buried. Part 2 being called "Beneath the Earth" makes me think that this is supposed to symbolize death somehow and our main characters fight for life in part 2 & 3 were somehow not real or in his head. - I also wonder what this is called "The oldest View" The titles of the other 2 videos seem pretty self explanatory but this makes me feel like this has something to do with the first time The Rolling Giant was seen. - I did some very basic research and as far as I can tell this mall also appears to have been real. From the pictures I can find this is an EXTREMELY faithful recreation of it or actual footage from within the mall but that seems extremely unlikely because it would appear that a large majority if not all of the mall has been demolished and I know urban explorers often totally abandoned places like this in very short order so I think this whole thing is a 3d model that Kane has put together. - Additionally and full credit to @yugeproblem8810 for posting this on Part 3 the bearded man in this video shares a resemblance to French botanist Julien Reverchon and the Rolling Giant appears to have also been a real art piece created by Kevin Obregon which would indicate that these are the 2 men seen in this video. Julien at the beginning and Kevin crafting at the end. Hope this helps get the Juices flowing for some of you more creative people that are better at putting things together than me. I love these stories and theory craft about this is one of my favorite things about them.
The mask/giant was actually built by an artist, Kevin Obregon. The man at the start is Julien Reverchon, a botanist from the 19th century that the rolling giant was based off of. Also, the mall was built by corrupt, you can see that in the description of TOV3
Also, the mall itself is actually a real abandoned mall located in Texas that was just recently demolished.
where do you see the flower on the table
I don't think I ever said anything about flowers on a table but when you see the sketches at 3:00 they appear to be the same flower that was at the beginning. Additionally something else I've found out sense I wrote this. In Part 2 and Part 3 The flowers around the entrance of the hole in the ground appear to be the same type of flower.@@prodwater334

The back rooms series by lane is so cool, but the story development is painfully slow. I’ve been hooked into the series and eager to watch his new videos. But in the course of a year the series has gotten little to no where
There's so little to glean from this video. It's not engaging at all.
The sad, swollen eyes of the mask are reflect the internal struggle of the protagonist, feelings he cannot or will not outwardly express without some sort of vehicle - the mask - to deliver his internal struggle to the outside world. In short, the main character is going mad inside and is going to do crazy things wearing the eventual mask made from this design, that’s my take.
As a huge fan of David Lynch, I just want to say that your work really gives me similar vibes that Lynch's films and short films give me. That eerie mysterious dreamlike atmosphere is something that very few directors can nail, but you've really got it down.
The mystique and esotericness of Twin Peaks I found to be captivating. I can see a lot of similarities to Kane Pixels
The style and music choice in this reminded me of a different director, Oz Perkins. He got his brother, Elvis Perkins, for the soundtrack on The Blackcoat's Daughter, and there's a song called In The Garden on that which evokes the same kind of feelings as the song in Kane's film.

Here is my theory. That face that was put on the giant is some kind of ancient deity that was long forgotten because it seems like an old pagan god in appearance rather like the Green Man. But when it is depicted, when an idol is made of it, it can then manifest itself through it hence why this is renewal and someone unknowingly did this and entered it as an artwork at this mall exhibition, who knows what happened after that leading to the events of part 3.
If Pagan worship is involved in this, then that would explain the series title, and also the heavy emphasis on nature and the rural.
The only issue with this theory is that the Giant is an actual thing made by Kevin Obregon; it holds the visage of French botanist Julien Reverchon.
@@TheArbitraryArbiter I don't think Kevin is in the lore of this besides his studio, and then again that could just be for advertising. and yeah, Juliens role is honestly unclear to me, I don't really know anything about him.

Damn your a real Kane fan
After watching part 3, I am amazed at this. I'm not completely sure of what I'm watching, but I'm here for the ride.
After watching part 3 I have a theory, the subject of this video is the one who created the Rolling Giants, but these are beings that lived but are already dead, at minute 3:07, it shows us a POV scene, and If you look closely, on the ground you can see that there is blood, in addition, it seems that he is going to put those flowers somewhere on his body, as is, the rolling giant that we saw, had in his hands, perhaps the subject that create the rolling giants, use real people to make these creations, plus the chorus at the end can be attributed to the creation of a new living being, since the chorus is also attributed to God and religion. As another extra point, at minute 0:25, we can see in the center, there is an area that is gray among all the green grass, could that be a person's hair? Someone who died there, perhaps the protagonist from the third video, and the guy with a beard grabs the flower that sprouted from the body of the deceased and uses it to make his creations (Well as I say, it's just a theory, pretty crazy lol)
Genius
Good observation
You're right about the blood I noticed that too, and the floor looks like the concrete in parts 2 & 3. I also keep wondering whether the 'writer' we see here is dead themselves, or if this is just another 'area' albeit one that Wyatt seemingly died to enter (though I'm unsure, Wyatt is still moving at the end of part 3 though it may just be an error or his final breaths). Because in both cases the area has this green hue to it with black and white elements. We never saw any colours becoming monochrome in any other part of this series so far, it makes me wonder if it's a sort of afterlife? I also can't stop thinking about the dead horses and soldiers that appeared briefly in part 3 when the lights flicker near the end. I wonder if this is related to La Réunion (Dallas) [see Wikipedia] or something... Eg. Victor Prosper Considerant who resembles this individual was a writer? I don't know. American history is noooot my strong suit. EDIT: It has come to my attention that the 'writer' is likely Julien Reverchon.

Are the rolling giants humans that died? what year is this? how does the making of the rolling giants connect to the mall center? are they souls imprisoned in those "big puppets"? is that why they try to get close to the protagonist in chapter 3? God, i love this, it's so interesting, i have many questions
I believe it’s just one rolling giant, as the deceptive behaviour/personality of the giant seems the same in both sections of the video. And there is only 1 rolling giant in real life.
I doubt it, rolling giant is obviously just a supermarket robot, no wonder it's so invasive and always bumping in to stuff. Jokes aside I doubt it's anything like dead people haunting the somewhat mechanical piece of art. Although the trees at the end, and the leaves in his hand probably have a connection. I feel like the rolling giant is more of an embodiment of something related to that or something of time as weird as that may sound, but the fact that 1: the mall became overgrown at a very fast rate feels like time got skipped And 2: if I'm on the topic of time, the rolling giant seems to have shown him things of the past, mainly because I don't think this was taken place back when horse riding was common anyway and you can see a dead horse and people for a bit And also this is a hunch but it feels like the mall was in itself placed in the wrong space rather than it having been built there. There's also the stairs being caves in which could have just happened if the time around the area was passed Basically I think the rolling giant or maybe the mask itself, being a mask that looks rather old, has something to do with time and maybe just space, and the mall was literally placed at that point of time and the rolling giant caused the overgrowth in the mall and the cave in. It's also worth noting the guy himself is seemingly detached from time, seeing as he himself is in black and white maybe because he was from an older time, while the grass behind him isn't idk
@@BrimmFate What you said about time might be the closest answer, it can't be something simple as stranded souls, also, this reminds me of Junji Ito stories, something beyond human comprehension?..

I couldn't imagine having to do these videos, they take so much time and effort that I could never possibly do on my own, You have a gift Kane. You can make these amazing videos that are high quality and realistic that some people can't tell if it's real or fake. Great work Kane!
If I had bad eyesight I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Gives a different perspective for what older people deal with going up against newer technology though. I bet there's a ton of things they see and get confused if it's real or not.
@Chris Spirit you should watch your words and what you say in your videos. Someone could sue you for slander. Especially if a video gains traction and people think it's real causing their reputation to be damaged.

@@claireandpapa9798 it was someone who had commented on here spreading false information about Kane and a bunch of other people. Seems he deleted his comment.
@@ovenheating9482 ohh okay!
After the third part of this series, it all makes sense now…… Well most of it, at least.
Now this makes just a tiny bit of sense but still What the actual hell is that thing Bravo on how uncanny and spooky you made it look
Its a statue of julien reverchon
It does not matter what you make Kane, it will be good. You have some kind of gift for cinematography as well as audio composition. I am continually impressed by your work and genuinely happy to see you dabbling into something new. Keep up the amazing work.
The cerebral score and the beautiful cinematography, I always know what to expect and I'm always blown away regardless
I think this man waltzing through the forest may be Wyatt... Remember how at the end of Part 3 we saw Wyatt's corpse in a forest, but he was black and white? I think this might be a grown up him... maybe
The beginnings of the Giant masterfully done Kane.-.-.-.
So amazing!
Your camerawork in this short is on point, as it is in most all of your work! I love how you framed the outdoor shots and played with the depth of field (I hope I used that last term correctly, I'm not entirely familiar with the profession 😅). I hope making cool stuff like this on the side helps you take a break from working on the backrooms when you need it!
At 1:39 when he opens the book, there is a subtle light that shines onto his face, which I think it's coming from the book, I'm not sure what this means or if it has any meaning, but it's there.

the book is plants
Creation of a giant.
It's so uncanny the way you make things have a certain "feeling", awesome work my dude! It functions so well.
Absolutely phenomenal work, can’t wait to see where this series goes
Gets me every time, the unnerving sense of foreboding with the ambient music. Damn I’m hooked on this series
Calling it now. Julian walks up to the flower, smells it ... and infects himself with something older than humanity. He now has the oldest view.
dude, just checked your entire content and you have the talent, but more so the passion and the drive. Youre really awesome Keep doing you. 🖤
Somehow nostalgic to the film style I would have seen on tv growing up and also something to refresh the table we may not be familiar with. You're doing an amazing work and can not wait to see you continue
Dam, I just love that anything that comes out from him is just so mysterious and he gives away as little as possible so it always builds on your imagination... combine that with the amazing sound design, the soundtrack, and the visuals, and how organic it all fits together... Amazing talent
Even without context, this is a great mood piece. Thank you.
I can’t believe kane is still in the womb such a great role model and artist
Trust me, kane has been making masterpieces like this since he was a sperm cell. Hes so talented.
Everything in this video looks so interesting, this is a great way to open your new story and I hope that this gets the same attention of your other projects, you have a lot of future forward.
Soo excited to hear about the movie man! Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!!!.
Let's just hope he doesn't become corrupted by Hollywood like so many others have.
Visually STUNNING!!! Some of your best work right here and I know it’s only gonna get better!!!
Who's back here after part 3?
Me. Still baffled. Hope the body of the character from part 3 is discovered and some investigation occurs.
Do you guys have any ideas of how all three parts work together? I’m still really confused about the giant and the story in general.
@@PotatoPato08 Part 1 shows the creation of the Giant, or at least his face. How the man at the beginning of part 1 is involved is hard to say, though he may be responsible, maybe he was a practicing Druid? I believe his photo (as an older man) is shown in the mall in part 3. The mall seems to have been a real place, though it's been torn down. The Parade of Giants was an actual event, and I think it must have drawn the attention of some kind of nature spirit. With the tearing down of the mall, there was nowhere for the Parade to continue. The nature spirit has taken the form of the Rolling Giant as it's avatar, and recreated the mall. Wyatt seems to have been attracted to the site (possibly through some kind of manipulation by the spirit) to participate in some kind of rite, likely a sacrifice. That's my theory anyway. One odd detail is the near veneration of the Arts, and artists. I can't think what the connection is, other than the fact that an artist (possibly one associated with the galleries in the mall) created the Rolling Giant...
@@djhutchisonthe man is the creator of the giant
So actually I think the man at the start is the botanist the giant is based off of. In wendigoon’s most recent stream kane himself goes over the history of the giant and he was based on a botanist. It would explain why he looks so similar to him, smells flowers and reads books (or maybe reviewing his notes) on tree logs. He’s studying. Its showing a progression of time and where things start vs where they are today. How things are lost to time but are never truly gone.
This guys videos are fantastic. He should never give up on his passion of filmmaking!
So glad to see you doing non-backrooms content! This was a great video, excited to see more :)
i wonder, is The Oldest View already an existing story that kane is adapting, or is this his own thing now? :o
@@DinoBoiRex not sure, but either way, I’m along for the ride!
So you're telling me that Kane is working hard directing the backrooms movie, and then decided to create a whole new series on the side?? Does he not sleep????
there was a writers guild of america strike and he needed something to do so he made this
