  • Hey everyone. So I feel I must break character to explain that I had long thought it would be funny to follow-up the iCarly mini-series with a remake of my first Nickelodeon review. I wrote and recorded this months ago, worked on parts of this for years. However, obviously with what's happened in the last month this is poorly timed. But I still think this is a very fun video and I hope everyone can have a good time. My sincere apologies for any upset this release might cause. Also, since I've broken character, buy my new plushie in current-year-2024: youtooz.com/products/quinton-reviews-plush-9-inch

The Brazilian VA never really had this problem cause he varied a lot to play Cosmo, he did a very Robin Williams-esque performance, dude has an insane range and he definitely never got tired of the character, you really can't get enough of the character with him. • I will say that I do kinda like the idea of Timmy ending up a fairy. It honestly seems fitting for him at least for his cartoon version. The selfish, arrogant, abused child who desperately doesn't want the only family who actually loves him taken away ends up getting to stay with the family that ACTUALLY loves him rather than his biological parents who neglect him. What I mean is, would we truly hate the "Timmy becomes a fairy" thing if it hadn't been done in the live action, but rather as a finale for the cartoon? Albeit, it would need to be done with actual care and a decent plot. What I mean is, I don't see any issue with Timmy becoming a fairy to stay with his true family forever. I actually liked and appreciated that. Because whilst at first it made sense to me as a kid that Timmy would one day grow up and lose his fairies, eventually as FOP went on and Timmy's biological parents got continuously flanderized and more neglectful, and we all spent so much time watching Timmy, Wanda, and Cosmo together... I realized that Timmy is actually totally 100% in the right to want to keep his fairies. In the cartoon it's been shown time and time again that he would likely do anything to keep his true family, and I think he'd fully accept if he never got to use magic again so long as he didn't lose his godmother and godfather (and godbrother). Maybe it's just the child abuse survivor in me but, the idea that you don't have to give up your chosen family I think isn't a bad message to give. It is okay to grow beyond people and enter new stages in life, but it's also just so tragic to me that these kids lose the memories of their families. Sure, it can work out, but I mean, look at Crocker and how losing the memory of his godparents fucked him up so badly for his entire life? Idk... I'd be pretty fucked up if my chosen family as a kid just disappeared one day and I never really remembered them. It's like having a relative who gave you so much support in life not only leave you, but your memory is wiped of them from some accident. Wouldn't that be sad? Dang, now I've made my own self sad Idk, just 5am ramblings

  • 1:27:53 This pokes a pretty big hole in the fairy world agenda tbh. I always thought that the reason Remy got fairies and Chester didn’t is because, even though he was extremely poor, his dad still loved him. Fairies provide both material convenience and parenting. But they are only given to kids who lack the latter, not the former. Which leaves this really huge gaping hole in the system. And it seems like a recipe for disaster if you give godlike powers to only the most neglected, socially stunted, and unstable children. Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember an episode where Chester gets a genie and uses him for extremely charitable and noble purposes (which the genie either gets annoyed at or impressed by I forget) like making his dad’s life easier or curing his social anxiety. Maybe this is because Chester knew he only had 3 wishes and wanted to use them to do as much good as possible but why wouldn’t the fairies want to operate on a system where they find good children in bad material situations to give them more of a capability to do good things. A neglected child needs caring parents, yes, but do they really need the powers of a god? Also, I know the scope of the show is pretty limited, but we basically never see fairies given to kids who aren’t a middle to upper class except for Crocker of all people

    @goodluckgorsky3413@goodluckgorsky3413Ай бұрын
    • Considering that Timmy's dangerous wishes are almost always undone with ease once he learns his lesson, I like to think fairy godparents actually grant wishes to provide the emotional teaching that the kids don't get from their birth parents.

    • With Poof's addition, we do learn that the parental guidance aspect is probably the really important thing to the Fairies. They can kill two birds with one stone by inserting themselves into the lives of these kids. But of course we do also have examples of giving Fairies to just any miserable kid *can* be a bad thing... The Hall of Infamy in Cosmo & Wanda's house revealed how unbelievably horrible some kids can be. Making French people rude to Americans. Twisters to destroy trailer parks. And then there's Maryann... After stealing Cosmo and Wanda's wands, she was involved in the assassination of Archduke Fedinand and kickstarted World War 1... which you know... led to even more horrific things.

Hearing Quinton constantly refer to Cosmo and Wanda as "fairlies" made me think about the title of the series, and how it's a pun, then I started thinking about the Danish localized title (I'm Danish, this wasn't entirely random) where the title is "De Fantastiske Fehoveder" which roughly translates to "The Fantastic Fairy Heads" and I was like, it's such an odd translation, there's not even a pun... Then it dawned on me, it IS a pun. It's a pun on "Fæhoveder", "fæ" meaning "fool", and fæhoved just being a different way of calling someone a fool. It has taken me 20 years to realize this, I feel like an actual brainlet right now.

    • Whatever you do, just be careful not to start an event so negative it poisons every year to follow leading to one year of almost PURE poison that people will still be recovering from four years after the fact~! : D

  • When I was younger I had a nightmare where I was being chased by the movie versions of Cosmo and Wanda but they were evil and had red eyes. I don't think I've ever seen this movie, but the designs were so terrifying that just seeing them somewhere must have been too much for my child brain.
