Michaela Kiersch climbs Dreamcatcher 5.14d in Squamish, BC.

Пікірлер
  • 1. Easily the most chill send of this beastly climb ever recorded. 2. Easily the best video of a Dreamcatcher send, by a long shot. The various angles and quality of the shots is unparalleled, and the music choice is spot on. 14D sent. 15D video.

  • I've been to the base of Dreamcatcher. Looking up at the sloping rail, it's hard to understand how climbing it is even possible. Camera angles can't really capture how steep the wall is and how sloping the rail is. There were several points in this video that my jaw dropped at Michaela's precision and power. One watch and this is among my favourite climbing videos ever. Kudos to everyone involved, especially Michaela Kiersch!

    • @@theunaphotobomber why should it not be the send footage? I can speak from experience that its waaaaay different, (even just one little tiny grade between your max) to go easy peasy and casual through a route (like in that case) or screaming the hell out of your lunges, because its just 2% over your max and will your way through it🙄

  • This was mind blowing! I’m just completely blown away with how calm and fluid her movement and problem solving was throughout this level of insane difficulty. This is the most high level climbing movement with the most high level filming to capture it all. Legendary all around for everyone involved.

  • I'm speechless about everything here. As a climber I dreamt (that's the point of the route i guess) over Chris Sharma's video in my teens. Now 10 years later comes the greatest climbing video ever. No talking, perfect music, filming at its best, and Michaela's climbing is just... surreal. Conjunction of smoothness and power, backed by a out of this world foot and leg work, everything summed up into a perfect flow. I think I'll never get tired of watching this... Hopefully my dreams are caught for the next decade all over again !

  • Can only echo what others have already written. This was one of the best climbing videos I've seen in a long time. The rock formation itself is already beautiful but the camera angles and soundtrack really accentuate it. And there was no lengthy intro with musings about life and climbing in general. Straight to the point. Amazing!

  • So good that I have to comment again. Went back and watched the old Sharma video, and realized that this one is subtly building off that original video. This video's double-takes on big moves and percussion-led score are echoing the original (but more successfully, I would say). Also: what a labor of love! There are no sponsors for this video, at least not advertised. It's not on the Petzl channel or whatever. No logos, besides Kiersch's Five Ten / Adidas gear. Again, thanks for doing this, Gabi and Brandon Fox!

  • Climbing is awesome, the edit is exceptional! Im not a fan of multiple angles, because they usually ruin the flow of whats happening, but whoever edited this just did it perfectly! You have enough time to recognise whats going on after a cut, but there is not a millisecond of boring set-up for a move after a cut! Please, more!

    • She apparently first tried the line around 2019, so no, as you suspected, not really the same. Especially since Ondra basically did dreamcatcher in like 2 or 3 tries. Not to disparage her (or you), though, or shit on her accomplishment in any way. Impeccable style on a beautiful, mythical line.
