  • I've never seen the Van Dieman's Aurora Australis look so red! It's usually reviewed as a mid-purple ink with green. Love how it came out in your pen!

    • Man I love that ink! It's my client meeting ink at the moment in the Wing Sung 630 (steel F nib)

  • What a fun pen haul! I'd love to have the Jinhao 9019 just for the chonky converter, but the nib size is far too big for my hands. I can write with it, but not comfortably. I went back to my journal entry in Aurora Australis and thought it was purely gum-green and was shocked to realise it was Aurora Australis. I could only tell because I have a habit of writing down the ink name and pen at the start of every ink colour change on the page. It's one of my favourite inks. I'm trying to convince myself that I have enough sheening inks that I don't need a bottle of Aurora Australis, and my friend did give me a huge sample vial of it, so it should last me a few more refills. The Arctic Blast ink is one I have recently received too! I love it. The sheen is strong and shimmer is excellent. I have a Jinhao x750 for a metal construction fountain pen that was inexpensive. It used to be more popular a couple of years ago, but I think everyone has one now. The other fun pen to try are the eyedropper ones. I've had my eye on the Moonman/Majohn Q1 for a while now. It's a chonky little beast of an eyedropper. The cap can be used as pen loupe. I've managed to resist buying for now. But I imagine it will end up in my possession somehow over the next few years.

    • Thanks buddy! I'm sure to take your advice with those recommendations eventually. (... exclusive news: I ordered a Wing Sung 632 last week!!! That's enough $$$ on pens for at least another 4 ... no, 3 days!)

    • @@WondersUnlocked haha the pen buying rabbit hole is fast and deep. I look forward to your opinions on it! I knew pen buying would be a problem for my wallet, so I made sure to put some strict arbitrary rules to help me not only enjoy my pens but also to prevent me going broke in an instant gratification world. Some odd ones I've come up with have been, only buying on Fountain Pen Day (did you know that exists? First Friday of November, mark your diary), only buying once a year, limiting myself to only "beginner" pens (for now). In terms of utilising what I had, I initially started off with a spreadsheet where I had to write dry a full fill of the inks I had every single pen I owned. At the time it was 5 inks and 8 pens. I never did manage to get through 40 refills of ink before I acquired more, but it was a fun goal for a good 3 to 4 months!

  • Wow, we have the same taste, even in nib size! I have a Jinhao 9019 in Fine but I would prefer a Medium. Also, I want a couple of Asvine models: P20, v126, etc...

    • The more I hear about you, the more amazing you sound lol! Lemme guess, you don't bump into people like us and can't understand why everyone isn't like us? Sounds like you need to get on AliExpress right away and order 4x 9019 with medium nibs....

  • Just saw your video. I guess it was only a matter of time before the algorithm dropped it in my feed.

    • Why is that? Fountain pens, or the chaotic nature of the other topics on my channel?

  • Good start, but you have a LONG, LONG way to go. Keep your boxes as one day you may need to sell more expensive items.

    • Boxes? You mean ziplock plastic bags?
