Ray came to Washington from his native Bronx in the early Sixties as an Army infantry/intelligence officer and then served as a CIA analyst for 27 years, from the administration of John F. Kennedy to that of George H. W. Bush. Ray’s duties included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing the President’s Daily Brief, which he briefed one-on-one to President Ronald Reagan’s five most senior national security advisers from 1981 to 1985.

  • The wordplay and abstention - not a 'yes' vote, are offset by the US failing to fund UNRWA in the budget that just passed. Perhaps the incumbent is hoping to wring a few votes out of 'standing up to Bibi'. Meanwhile, Gallant is already in session with the penta-gon, going over the long list of un-aliving equipment he wants.

  • The US abstained , to support the ceasefire, not because they have suddenly developed empathy for Palestinians but to divert attention from Gaza to the devastation that is coming to Ukraine after the so called terrorist attack in Moscow.

They re-elected Bush because they approved of his genocide and re-elected Obama because they approved of his expanding Bush's two wars to seven (he had killed a thousand children in Pakistan alone by the time he was re-elected).   • Ray's narcissism, his singing, his senility makes this impossible to watch. Leave the old man alone, give him some pigeon food and find him a bench where he and his nurse can enjoy spring days. Plain painful to watch. His "best before date" has passed by some 15 years ago. There is a reason why people retire.
