So no honorable mention to Stephon Gilmore signing with NE? Dude in 4 years was a 3x Pro Bowler, 2x 1st Team All Pro, Defensive Player of the Year and a SB champ? But Tyrann Mathieu gets an honorable mention?
Simeon Rice. 67.5 sacks in only 5 full seasons with the Buccaneers after playing well in Arizona. Helped elevate the Bucs Defense from great to legendary in 2002.
Simeon Rice was definitely an underrated rusher. He was amazing in the early-mid 2000s
Agree
He never gets enough credit I swear
“Reggie. This is God. Come to Green Bay.” - Mike Holmgren
As a packers fan I love that story
Two other honorable mentions: Jaguars receivers Jimmy Smith who signed as a FA in 1995 and Keenan McCardell who came along in 1996.
Jimmy Smith has never gotten the respect he deserved.
Priest Holmes #1 steal of all time. My man rushed for 4,590 yards and 56 TDs in 3 seasons and was only making $1.5 million a year.
I'd rather have a 5x 5000 yard passer for 10 mil a year.for reference Marcus Williams and Kristian Kirk are making more rn
Drew Brees was so good that despite all the times he fell short in his career, he was still the best pickup in Free Agency we've seen, and arguably a top 5 QB of all time. Insanity.
Better than kirk cousins
he was a top 5 QB from his time with the saints to like 2017. He's nowhere near top5 all time
@@Gpeagasus246 His stats say otherwise. Don't give me that only one ring bullshit either.
@@forevertj it’s not about his rings. It’s about how he was just isn’t a top 5 QB. Brady, Montana, Manning, Unitas, Rodgers, Favre, Marino are all better than Brees. How can a QB with no MVP be top 5 all time? MVP isn’t the end all be all. But every season he was outperformed by another QB. So he wasn’t even the best QB season during his career. No way he’s top 5 all time. Maybe top 15?
@@Gpeagasus246 🧢🧢🧢
Unreal how much contracts have changed today. Deion at $1 million is the biggest steal of all time. How is he not #1 on this list?
Yeah when I saw that price I was like damn that’s it but I guess because it was just 1 year they couldn’t put it higher
1 million in 1994 is almost 2 million in 2022 with inflation. Also the league then was worth 1.62 billion and the league today is worth 6.5 billion. Even with inflation the nfl still makes twice the money they did in 1994.
@@futtbuckerson215 the cowboys alone are worth $6.5B not the league…
@@Louieeeg1074 cool proves my point even more
If the Saints had better defenses from 2010-2016 they would have had more superbowls. Brees carried that team to 7 wins and people don't realize how good the offense really was because they just see 7-9 and forget how bad the defense truly was.
Antoine Winfield was about to sign with the New York Jets, and a deal was reported by ESPN as being done. 24 hours later, he signed with the Vikings because he made a promise to the Vikings coaching staff that he would visit them, and didn't want to break his promise. Winfield played 9 years with the Vikings and made three Pro Bowls. That worked out quite well
Wow, someone should make a video about that. :)
over-rated, maybe if he could tackle
@@stich21 he led his team in tackles
The Deion Sanders steal!! One of many Falcons chokes LOL. Also... Brady! wow Patriots.
And who would thought that Brett Favre would become a legend after leaving the Falcons?
4yr/11.5 mil for Woodson is crazy compared to money giving out this year
well its almost been 30 years and and the league makes more money every year. so ofc its gonna be "low" back then
@@Gpeagasus246 Woodson was on the 97 49ers before that happened playing corner
He showed our young guys how to win. People don't realize this but the culture of the Ravens changed when they signed Rod Woodson.
Crazy how low the contract was compared to these days.
Top 10 biggest steals in draft history
I'll say John Abraham (2006) and Michael Turner (2008) should be an honorable mention. They signed with the Falcons and helped Atlanta be a consistent contender and contributring consecutive winning seasons + playoff appearances for the first time in franchise history
Foles finally getting some love 🙏🙏🙏
Stephon guilmore shoold be on that list
Deion Sanders 1year 1 mill what kind of contract was that 🤔🤣🤣
How is Charles Woodson not on this list? Ridiculous
Deion should have been higher. He literally was the driving force for two franchises winning super bowls
Nick Foles is like that guy in the movie"Invincible". Matter of fact he played for the same team that the guy for Invincible played for. Personally Speaking how about Odelle Beckham of the LA Rams. You missed him. This list is incomplete.
Lol
And that's why you keep your probowlers
Charles Woodson in 2006 only them and the bucs went hard after him
Warner should be on here twice, once for the Rams and once for the Cardinals
Honorable Mention 2: Safety Rodney Harrison signed with New England in 2003 and helped them win two Super Bowls.
I remember Belichick getting killed for cutting Lawyer Milloy because he was such a big part of the 2001 team, but it clearly worked out with Harrison there.
What about randy moss going to New England and having one of the best seasons ever for a receiver. Honorable mention at least.
That was trade
As far as actual steals Priest Holmes amd Rich Gannon are 1/2. The rest were already either all time greats or had very short time production while Priest was a backup who went to KC and had some top 20 all time RB seasons and Rich turned Oakland completely around
Brees had lost the starting job and had become a backup with the chargers and had actually been offered a back qb contract by them before he entered free agency. For that reason i feel he is still an actual steal because he had previously been a backup
Thank you for making this video!
Reggie white coming to the pack was the greatest free agent signing of all time!
NFL Throwback Is Awesome 👍🏈
Reggie White, Joe Montana, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are 5 of the best free agent steals in league history
Joe Montana was never a free agent
How is Tom Brady a steal? Even Peyton lol we all know full healthy they are them dudes … I get Peyton coming off the injury was some concerns but it’s Peyton Manning if he’s able to play he’s gonna he Peyton Manning
@@kingforte9246 Most of all these players in this video, are Super Bowl Champions lol They all help bring a ring to that team they signed too
@@thebrockman12 How are they different from Reggie White? He was already a HOF DE before he signed with GB and signed the biggest contract that year. How is that any different?
@@JDBass36 but a steal to me is a guy like Wes Welker when he signed to the patriots … a guy nobody thought much of became a great slot receiver for pennies with the patriots
Honorable mention: Recent retiree Andrew Whitworth who anchored the left side of Rams offensive line for 5 years.
Deion getting a 1 yr 1 million dollar deal has to be the greatest steal acquisition at the cheapest price for a first ballot hall of famer. Paying just 1 million to get a prime Deion Sanders on your team is insane
Deion should have stayed with the 9’ers He looked So Fresh in that gear. They should have made that $ work & kept Neon Deion So Fresh & So Clean
4:30 Unc Shay "skip" his haircut lol
Nick Foles was not a free agent steal 😂 he was a former eagle and came back to philly as a back up
yes but he was acquired again though free agency...
@@Gpeagasus246 no shit
Why didn’t they add the team the left?
"Ooh what a throw by grey beard" lol
Not even an honorable mention for when the Patriots signed Rodney Harrison?
Or Stephon Gilmore 😒
If Ron Wolfe hadn't been so effing bullheaded, he could've signed both Tony Bennett and Bryce Paup. Those two, combined with Wayne Simmons, would have comprised the greatest linebacker trio in Packers' history and would have resulted in at least another Super Bowl win in the mid-nineties.
Boy them deals they got back then was something else for cheap I see woww
Nick foles is still one of my favorite players. Showed with the right coaching some players can be superstars.
As a Dolphins fan it still hurts that we could have signed Deion Sanders and Drew Brees to win Super Bowls XXIX and XLIV if we had those two players
At 1:21 my boys life flashed before his eyes😳
TF Outta here with Foles.... (Sad Bears fan)
If anything, Nick Foles proved that anyone could win with that team 😂 literally became a career backup after that stint.
You can't beat Nick Foles. Paid the man less than 7 mil that year & he ended up winning the SB. Beat Tom Brady's best statistical game. He has the best postseason qbr in NFL history and the only person Tom Brady would not shake their hand in a postseason defeat
Where's Tom Brady. In his 1st year of free agency he took the bucs to the superbowl and won them their 2nd lombardi trophy.
I’m not saying gonna say Deion is less talented then JC Jackson but when I watch them both they just have similar play styles. JC still has years to go but damn are the similarities there
The Steelers have been Burned and Saved by Free agency
Mike Wallace went downhill who i thought was future star....
Peyton manning to the broncos and Matthew Stafford
John Riggins 1976.
TB12?
Got a QB of #9 caliber in FA… easily the number 1.
God bless you guys Always keep God first
Charles Woodson and Stephon Gilmore didn't win DPOYs and Super Bowls
Could Nick Foles Go Back To The Eagles 🦅 😳
How are Jerry rice and shannon Sharpe honorable mentions lol
God bless
No mention of Peyton Manning? Why?
Go birds 🦅💚
Dont agree with Brees no 1. He was a good free agent a great free agent but the no 1 free agent of all time? I just can't agree.
Stephon Gilmore?
Nick foles should be number 1 all things considered. Extremely cheap deal and won philly their 1st SB. Look what QBs are making today only 5 years later who havent even accomplished that lol
Charles Hailey?????
Kirk cousins! …….. 😰😭😭😭😭😭🗑💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰🟡🟣
Why isn’t Tom Brady here?
Deion is number 1
Tom Brady should be 1 or 2 and Peyton manning
Where is Peyton Manning?
Where’s Peyton???
Peyton Manning 2012-2015 No questions asked Yes super bowl 48 was atrocious but still he did a lot for Denver throughout that span
Great signing but I think it’s not on here because he got a big contract so it wasn’t necessarily a steal
Andrew Whitworth for the LA Rams

Saints should’ve been stripped of the super bowl

By that logic, the Patriots should lose at least 3 of their superbowls for cheating numerous times
