A God-Fearing DEVGRU Man with Bill Rapier | Mike Drop: Episode 68

The Duality of Service when completing 10 combat deployments with development group, all while being a staunch Christian is delicate yet impressive balance. I had the honor of sitting down with AMTAC shooting owner Bill Rapier, where we discussed his time serving in one of the most prestigious units in existence, growing up overseas, his family and faith, and living off the grid in Northern Idaho. Super interesting life of one hell of a warrior.

  • Brilliant brilliant interview as always. Late to the game here. Digging around to find an episode of Mike Drop I haven't seen. Found this one ❤ Always so much to unpack. Yet, like a warm blanket where things make sense again. As an aside, regarding the police dog. We have just concluded a situation here on Vancouver Island, where a known criminal has been in a police conflict, the dog was sent, the perp stabbed the dog over and over. The perp was eventually shot. The officer was investigated..took 2 years to conclude. Officer finally cleared. Public outrage continued. I'm devastated about how we have arrived at this point in our current history. I am so thankful for men and podcasts like these that remind me, there is still a contingency of critical thinking and right thinking.

  • I love these podcasts. There are a lot of military podcasts out there but so many of them sound like guys just lecturing. Mike asks the absolute best questions and really focusing on the interesting action! Plus, Mike gets into broader topics, like the nation building issues in the middle east. This podcast is so entertaining and it's so much more than the just the runnin' and gunnin' stuff.

  • I remember Dan Rather (i think it was him) used to read the names of all the soldiers that died that day on the CBS Evening News. It was a somber thing and you went through your day thinking about the boys overseas fighting for us. My brother was a Marine in Iraq on the Syrian border. Thank all you men for what y'all did so others didn't have to. God bless you for it.

  • Excellent podcast! The off grid topic was very interesting to me what with having a small farm, and in the aftermath of such a hideous snow and ice storm that we just went through. Bill's energy and enthusiasm is high voltage, and you can tell he really enjoys his life. I'm glad to have watched this. It helped further open my eyes to certain things that I have been overlooking. On a side note...buy a t.v. Bill. That's why y'all have all those youngsters. That's why our ancestors had so many kids. No t.v. and lots of work to be done. Lol!

  • Great episode from the greatest interviewer, as always! Would love to see Karl Erickson from Tactical Rifleman on the show one day :D By the way, what's cool about Simo Häyhä (the Finnish sniper) is that he did those 500 kills with no scope on his weapon. True legend.
