It is incredible how your idea to make this video and a few key pieces of information literally changed my life :D I am so thankful to you :-*

    • It's a pity people feel it's important to get a somewhat standard R sound because there's NOT a standard one. If you pronounce it like in Italian for example, you sound like many french did back in the last century, and that's cute. On the other hand, if you try to force it too much, chances are that you will make it too harsh and you will sound like you come from Maghreb.

  • Most of time, when I try to teach the R sound to english people, I mean as a french man, it's not like they don't succeed, most of issues are really related to the fact they are forcing it, they really push it too hard. It is something really smooth at some point, it should not break you speaking flow. I think it is simply something to practice, don't be ashamed by sounding wrong, let it go, and with confidence, it will start to sound perfect. I can hear this forcing a little bit still in Anastasia's R, but it is pretty much there. What I am impressed about is her "U" though, perfect, with a tiny bit of voice colour in it. Reminds me a bit of the southern France accent :), the colours the Mediterranean coast, it so charming.
