Great palace for rich companies or individuals that just keep it in their real estate portfolio without doing anything with it
Peanuts 🥜
They aren’t making any more land and it will never be cheaper
@@HyuLilium That might be the only reason to buy a overly priced and decorated house with small rooms in a sinking city.
That much to move to africa?
Beloved by Ruskin, immortalized by Monet, how wonderful to glimpse inside , thankyou !
Knowing something of its history and always fascinated, I just about gave up on ever seeing inside. I used to linger outside in the back, pretending it was mine on every trip. Now at close to 80, I can't do that any more. So thank you so much. It's beautiful.
In many ways it always has been yours, because you appreciate its beauty over the years.
Magnificent.
It touched my heart to read your comment. I too have had moments of looking at buildings in Venice and having my heart feel as if some how I have lived there. It is just lovely when one feels a connection to a place so strongly. On my last trip in September I got up super early one morning to walk the entire length that is possible of the Rio Marin as my first name is Maren which is pronounced just the same. It makes my heart happy to know that my name has spoken in Venice for a very long time. At 80, how wonderful to have lived a life that has included such special connections for you as well. Blessings to you! x
God bless you Thank you for sharing this. From Canada
Your comment made me wish that I had the means to purchase it & give it to you!
This is a DREAM property, in a DREAM location, with a DREAM walled garden and water access. Luckily, it is mostly in its originally state and has original furniture and the most amazing chandeliers . I think you could mostly find me in the walled garden or on the roof terrace overlooking Venice ! Well done Danilo and team, another stunning property !
I was thinking that, too - out on that balcony, painting, eating, drinking my coffee, reading a book, or working in the garden as well as painting, etc.!
I wrote a short story about this palace as I was younger and won a price thank to it. I always wanted to see it inside but never had the opportunity. I also think that this place should become a museum and make money with its mysterious history
This is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. Those original interiors are just incredible.
Thank you!
OMG! I felt so familiar with this building and i just realized that this building was on claude monet's painting with the same name 'Le Palais Dario' 1908 😫
Thank you so much, Danilo, for bringing us something so incredibly unique today. One can only pray that whoever purchases it will retain much of the historical character. It is so fascinating to see these tiny glimpses into the past.
The palace has a fame of bad luck. In 1970 its owner, a gay count, was murdered by his lover in the palace and other owners died in suspicious circumstances.
@@CarloRossi54523 No palace is free of some mysterious past.
In Italy there very strict rules about the integrity of old buildings, the city will not allow the new owner to do any major modification to the building. At worst he can ruin the interiors with bad furniture but the palazzo will still be preserved
@@CarloRossi54523 That Palace was build in 1479 and it has many many deaths Story because Giovanni Dario let build this House over a graveyard of fallen knights. DO NOT BUY THIS HOUSE
Wow! Magical! It would be like living in a wedding cake! Venice is a one-of-kind world treasure. I looked through my Venetian pictures and was thrilled to see this palazzo featured in one of the snapshots I took on the vaporetto through the Grand Canal!
The Pallazzo Dario is stunning and beautiful, and with so much mystery and history surrounding it, I hope the next owner will cleanse the home and love the old girl.🏰 Thank you for sharing, Danilo.❣️

Beautiful, History and Romance, Palazzo, 🇮🇹♥️🇲🇽
This is a wonderful property ! This is historical Venice at its best . And Danilo your presentations are always a joy to watch .
Love those chandeliers. They are beautiful 🥰
Fascinatingly beautiful! One of a kind! Indeed very precious! Congratulations!
Ciao Danilo, Stunning just stunning, I love all the original architecture and fixtures. The view of Canal Grande is spectacular. Thanks for showing us this. Love from N.Y.
Venice is like living inside a history book. Such a beautiful place with so much ancient history. Ill keep the furniture at the minimum. The architecture is impressive. Bring it up to code. Museim/Air BNB/Hotel/wedding hall. In less then 5 years you have already turned a profit. Millions travel to this region yearly. The only problem is the rising waters.
I would love to live here. The composer, Cole Porter, is from my hometown. He lived in Ca' Rezzonico. Would love to think I could live like Cole, even if I don't have that kind of money. Enjoyed the tour. Thank you, from Peru, Indiana.
Insane amount of detailed craftsmanship. I hope it’s purchased by someone desiring to tastefully restore and enjoy it.
I lived in this beautiful palazzo Dario many years ago in the late sixties when the owner was a British gentleman who killed himself many years later. There was, by the entrance, a hidden elevator
🇮🇹🤔😱CA' DARIO, THE CURSED PALACE THAT HAS "KILLED" THOSE WHO PURCHASE OR STAY THERE SINCE 1479 Palazzo Dario, also known as Ca' Dario, is a building located at number 353, at the mouth of the Rio delle Torreselle, in the Dorsoduro district. The building, built in Venetian style, overlooks the Grand Canal and carries with it a reputation that is not exactly auspicious. This elegant building is very famous, in Venice and throughout the world, as it would appear to be subject to a curse that would lead all its owners or inhabitants to end up broke or to die suddenly. Since its construction, in fact, a series of unpleasant events have taken place which have fueled this popular belief which has persisted to the present day, convincing even the most skeptical of the actual curse that Ca' Dario would carry with it. But let's start from the origins of this gloomy story and let's reconstruct together the stages of all the deaths that followed one another, from the construction onwards, at Ca' Dario, making it the least wanted and most feared building in all of Venice. The story begins in 1479 when the so-called "cursed" palace was commissioned by Giovanni Dario to the architect Pietro Lombardo as a dowry for the marriage between his daughter Marietta and the rich spice merchant Vincenzo Barbaro. Upon the death of Giovanni Dario, secretary of the Senate of the Republic of Venice, the house was inherited by his daughter and from this very moment strange events began to happen which over the years have contributed to the not so pleasant fame of this building. Marietta's husband, in fact, immediately suffered a financial collapse and was subsequently stabbed. The same wife, shocked by the episode, committed suicide and, shortly after, also the son of the two, Vincenzo, was found dead in Greece, the victim of an ambush. At this point, the palace was inherited by the descendants of Vincenzo Barbaro until one of them, Alessandro, a member of the last Council of Ten of the Republic of Venice, sold it in the early 19th century to an Armenian merchant of precious stones, Arbit Abdoll. It was not long before it fell into disrepair and he was forced to sell the building, for only £480, to the Englishman Rawdown Brown. We are in 1896 when the Countess Isabelle Gontran de la Baume-Pluvine became the new owner of the building. She had it restored and hosted the French poet Henri de Régnier who stayed at Ca' Dario until he contracted a terrible disease which forced him to leave Venice. After the war, the building was bought by an American billionaire, Charles Briggs, who was forced to take refuge in Mexico shortly after due to rumors about his acquaintances. From here the deaths linked to Ca' Dario became ever closer. In 1970 the Count of Turin Filippo Giordano delle Lanze bought the palace and was assassinated inside it by a Croatian sailor who was also killed immediately after his escape. At this point Ca' Dario became the property of the manager of the musical group The Who, Christopher “Kit” Lambert. It was precisely in his stay in this building that Kit Lambert became increasingly addicted to drugs until this condition caused him to break up with the band and be arrested for drug possession with a subsequent economic collapse. The Who returned to the protagonists of the history of the building in 2002 when the bassist of the group, John Entwistle, after having rented Ca' Dario for a week's holiday in Venice, died of a heart attack. Before dying, Kit Lambert, still owner of the building, managed to sell it to Fabrizio Ferrari, a Venetian who moved there with his sister Nicoletta. Not even she could survive the "curse of Ca' Dario" as she died in a mysterious road accident without witnesses. The same owner suffered a financial crash and was arrested on charges of assaulting a model. At this point the building passed into the hands of the financier Raul Gardini, involved in the Tangentopoli scandal and who committed suicide. After Gardini's death it was increasingly difficult to sell the building even if the director Woody Allen was very tempted to do so but was convinced at the last minute to let it go. In 2006 the building was finally purchased by an unknown buyer represented by an American company that he still owns today. Over the centuries the various hypotheses formulated on the origins of the presumed curse of Ca' Dario are different. There are those who claim that the building was built on a Templar cemetery and those who think that the curse was influenced by a talisman on the water gate of the nearby building. What is the truth, we do not know, however, for superstition, better to stay away from it.
It all sounds very Venetian to me. Shakespeare would have loved this story. Perhaps it is less the house creating the disasters than those who could afford to live in it.
Money attracts its own troubles that may have had nothing to do with the house. All I know is it is absolutely stunningly beautiful ❤‼️ it’s a bit much, but I have no clue what comps in that area might indicate. It does need a little work, and because of its age a lot of loving care ongoing. Essentially this is a gem 💎 to the right buyer!
I should have added THANK YOU ❤❤❤ for the history lesson! Much appreciated and very interesting!
Great story, goes perfectly along with house. Still wonderful though
Doesn't surprise me W Allen would eye this, it'd make the perfect setting for a movie of his, or any Shakespearian-themed one, buy buying it? Comes with baggage even without considering the curse thing. Speaking of which, I'd love to know more about the talisman you've mentioned.
This is a very interesting property! Thank you Danilo and you team for bringing us these videos every week. It's so wonderful to see a great variety of villas and palaces. Your hard work to bring us these videos is greatly appreciated!
Beautiful Building A Part Of History. It's like Going back in Time Amazing Wall Panaling 🧱 Great Ceilings and View from the Balcony is just Incredible Great Presentation Danilo Grazie
Not too many properties give you an authentic trip back in time. There's even a ceramic wood-burning stove in rococo style on the second piano nobile. Very interesting, thank you.
Loved the history and its magnificence is beyond words!
We love this beautiful, historical palazzo and your presentation, Danilo, is very charming and informative. Grazie!
....from your front door..sail around the world........thanks! for bringing this dream.......
This palace should be purchased by the municipality of Venice in order to make it visitable, not by a private individual. The endless stories that narrate its mysteries and vicissitudes should become part of a tour dedicated to revealing the mysteries of Venice, not simply the second home of an illustrious tycoon. Ca' Dario is one of those venetian inaccessible places that many in the world would like to discover for its infinite mysteries. Known around the world as one of the most intriguing and secret historic homes.
so it has ghosts haha 😂 jokes apart any caring party is good for that...
Doubtful if the Municipality could afford it.
Every artistic building can't be public the municipality couldn't afford to restore and upkeep all. like all special historic buildings world wide some are public some owned by individuals
Wow! Thank you Danilo for sharing this exquisitely magical palazzo.
The renovations would be a nightmare. 18 million 😮😮😮😮
This was wonderful and unique located in a prime location. Just having a property in Venice would be an honour and this particular one is centrally located, able to view the Piazza San Marco and the tower. I agree with @grnshp that one can only hope the buyers would cherish the history and the antiquities and restore them and the property to a full bloom. Work is much needed but what a property it will be if done lovingly and respectfully and they are able to put the money into restoring it the way it should be restored. Grazie Danilo. Ciao 😊
Interesting historical property.
The real thing. Jaw-dropping. Heart-stopping.
I adore Venice ❤ my favorite place in the world 😊
Sono veramente senza parole! Grazie, Dario-san...
Incredibly exquisite property tastefully and professionally presented by Danilo.
Well, I loved! It's my dream house, not too big as other grand canal palazzos, original features all around, most interesting façade, garden and terraces to have plants, a possible guest apartment, just perfect. I would buy if I had the money. Thank you for the video, it costs nothing to dream about it!
Grazie Danilo. You do an excellent job presenting this wonderful properties to the world.
A beautiful World that we live in. Get out there and see it.
What an incredible property! Such architectural eye candy. Thank you for sharing. I hope the palazzo gains a tremendous new guardian. BTW, the purple-red marble in the bathroom is called porphyry.
Yes, indeed. I agree. I've seen those portraits in some history/art textbooks. It's a very special, interesting, marvelous spot.

Love it. Love the carpentry and masonry work. If I had the money I'd but it in a heartbeat.

Thank you for your presentation!
Caro Danilo, grazie per darci la possibilità guardare dentro un palazzo stupendo come questo ! Sempre un piacere sentire i tuoi commenti, le tue proposte ! Un saluto dall' Olanda CIAO !
Grazie!
Nice tour--special property.
Just GORGEOUS and , of course, steeped in Venetian history!! Lots of decorating possibilities. Thx for the tour Danilo - Such a pleasure to roam that palace with you. That asking price is too dear for me but my hope is that is can be restored & utilized by owners who will use it and invite me for a weeks stay every yr!! Cheers from Vancouver, Canada🙂
Thank you!
Nice presentation Danilo 👍
Oh my gosh….just beside the Peggy Guggenheim museum………wow
This is the coolest fixer-upper Palace, some really unusual interior spaces, looks as though no one has lived in it in one hundred years, or more.
really looks like a fabulous property
Wow! What a property! The person who buys it really has a lot of work to do. It’ll be beautiful when its restored and made livable for this century. Thanks for the tour of this historical property!
The protections a historical building like this has means it is almost impossible to make it livable for this century for a modern family.
I'm no construction expert but is a building supposed to lean 18" to the right? Is the presenter available?
It's STUNNING ❤
Beautiful Cannel House 🏠 in Venice!
This is now my favorite property to date
Thank you !
This is absolute beauty!
It truly is!
VERY WELL DONE-BRAVO
È bello di più. Sono brasiliana però i miei noni erano italiani. Ed, il mio papà si chiamava Dario. Grazie per la beleza del video.
INCREDIBILE!! An absolute privilege to see inside this jewel of a building. I hope the 'mogul' that buys it will respect her history 'to the letter...'
Now that is really cool!
only 18M to be in the centre of Venice in such an historic palace, if you consider what they sell you in London for the same price [just a flat with average interiors]
Wow so beautiful. I hope it is a protected building so nothing can be touched and "modernised". Its perfect as is.
Fantastico From San Fransisco, California
I would love to bring that garden and fountain to life.
Incredible.
Spectacular in its beauty. Hopefully a buyer with significant wealth is willing to undertake such a tedious and time consuming restoration. All in all so worthwhile and so rewarding.
In these cases I rather prefer Governs take control of the properties to ensure that they are well cared for and restored in a respectful manner. And that they are open for use and enjoyment by the public..

Wundervoll danielo, ❤
The views and location are what is for sale here, the property itself is a hard sell. You'd you have to think about not only the cost of remodeling but how long it would take, the buyer would need to be young and rich.
I can’t find adjectives to describe this Palazzo. Magnificent place
