    • It’s crazy people always forget how good he really was. Other than Bill Russell, he is the reason the Celtics are such a strong franchise and even as a coach turned a whole franchise to be a championship caliber team with the Pacers.

    • @@LegacyUnveiledSports Exactly. Instant impact as a rookie & a brilliant run thru the 80s. It’s just pitiful his body failed him. When healthy he was MIRACULOUS. NOBODY could handle a healthy Bird plus healthy Celtics.

  • Nice Video production. I am proud to say I am also an original "Hick from French Lick". My sister graduated with Larry at Springs Valley, High School in French Lick, Indiana. When I was in the 8th grade Larry was my P.E. assistant (Larry had a choice of Study Hall or P.E. Assistant). A book is to be released later this year, the 50th anniversary of Larry's Senior year as a Springs Valley Blackhawk. I have seen a lot of books about Larry but this one will be unlike any released before. The author, Dr. Randy Mills dove deep into old newspaper articles, stat books, coaches, teammates, even a few rival players. Also, resident's of French Lick, guys he played ball with at the local parks. Some of Larry's signature moves were developed on the town park courts. I saw things Larry did with a basketball... Wow.... I also recall the time a classmate called Larry "Tweety Bird" one too many times. I think it may be in the book. The book is titled, "As If By Magic".

  • For my all time fantasy team, i’m picking Bird #1. He could do it all - score, rebound, pass, team defense. His secret sauce was his team first ability to elevate his teammates. His rookie year he took a 29 win Celtics to 61 wins, and the following year an NBA title.

Lebron would have zero titles if he hadn't assembled all star teams. Players better than Lebron if your comparing prime years : MJ , BIRD , MAGIC , WILT ,RUSSELL , JABAR , OLAJAWON , EWING ,KOBE ,SHAQ , DR. J , DIRK , JOKIC and I'm just warming up.

I agree if you didn't grow up watching Bird and the Celtics Pistons Celtics Lakers Celtics Sixers rivalries there has been nothing like it since . Not Jordan not LeBron not anyone playing then or now have the all around game that Larry Bird had. Bird played at the time where you could hand check, clothesline, punch a player not even get called for a technical. Michael played in an era that was weak.
