It actually makes sense for them to be bigger than a normal Strider. Animals that live in cold areas usually develop thicker skin and drop their metabolism to save up energy which results to excess fat.

one more question; how did you make that blinking animation? I switched to forge to be able to add my mob and I too made a variant of the strider; a 2 seat mutant strider. I'd really like to add blinking to my animation so it seems less bland.

That used to happen with me too, I think it was because a file was in the wrong place, but Geckolib works differently now… so idk

@@Linkyplayzmmh I looked at the comments, sorry I didn't noitche it was a common question, next time I'm going to try what one of the comments suggested: checking Geckolib's version and changing it if it's outdated It was my first time, I am gonna try again now that I understood a bit how it works, I am starting with another model + I exported, saved and imported the same model, textures and animations so many times and also tried to fix stuff like textures by converting models so many times both in Mcreator and Geckolib, in all that mess something must have gone wrong and I wasn't able to fix it because it was too confusing

Hey great tutorial! Just need a bit of help. I followed it entirely with putting in an iceologer model and animations I made and for some reason it just has no animations in-game. Head movement works fine, but I've triple-checked I've put in the right animation names into each slot and enabled the ones I want. But every one I spawn will just slide across the ground towards me. Hey there! Does Geckolib work for Fabric 1.20.1? I installed it to MCreator Fabric 1.20.1 but it wont show up in the External APIs section. I made a custom Mutant Spider (based off of Mutant Creatures) with animations and I'd really like to implement said animations but I can't figure out how, unless it isnt for Fabric 1.20.1.

everytime I open the launcher with a geckolib animated entity it crashes, do you know why?
That used to happen with me too, I think it was because a file was in the wrong place, but Geckolib works differently now… so idk
@@Linkyplayzmmh I looked at the comments, sorry I didn't noitche it was a common question, next time I'm going to try what one of the comments suggested: checking Geckolib's version and changing it if it's outdated It was my first time, I am gonna try again now that I understood a bit how it works, I am starting with another model + I exported, saved and imported the same model, textures and animations so many times and also tried to fix stuff like textures by converting models so many times both in Mcreator and Geckolib, in all that mess something must have gone wrong and I wasn't able to fix it because it was too confusing
Could you possibly do this for the 2023.3 version i cant get gecolib to work it just keeps crashing
Hey, great tutorial - really helped me make heads and tails of the whole thing. I do have a weird problem though - in game, the animations only seem to play for my first spawned entity. The rest of them are just static - do you bychance have any idea why that might be?
I have the same thing, the object does not use animations, but it walks, etc.

hey sir, this tutorial was good however for some reason the animations of my mob just dindt work under any conditions the idle dindt play the walk dindt play it was just animationless perhaps i can give u the file of the entity and maybe it does work with you please help me
Amazing tutorial, this really helped with a mob I’m making, but do you think you can make a tutorial on animated armor aswell? I’m trying to make admin-only armor for my server but it keeps crashing and I don’t know why.

Hey great tutorial! Just need a bit of help. I followed it entirely with putting in an iceologer model and animations I made and for some reason it just has no animations in-game. Head movement works fine, but I've triple-checked I've put in the right animation names into each slot and enabled the ones I want. But every one I spawn will just slide across the ground towards me. What's the issue?

I downloaded and installed geckolib plugin, but animated entity doesn't show up. I only have living entity, but that already was there before geckolib (mccreator 2023.4)
Hi, really good tutorial but i have a problem, when i go to 'external API' the geckolab doesn't show and i can't import the animation, do you know how to fix it? Also are there default animations i can download since im not rly good animating?
From what I know, only Forge works with Geckolib. Also, did you install the plugin first? I didn’t show that part cuz it’s easy

Whenever I run my game it crashes when I spawn my mob, IDK if there's some other error or something but I think it might have to do with my idle animation called "Idol" 🤔
That’s the 10+ time I’ve gotten that comment. Also “idol” is a person, “idle” is staying still.

You can do that with a texture pack, but it’ll be the same sweeping with any sword

Hey there! Does Geckolib work for Fabric 1.20.1? I installed it to MCreator Fabric 1.20.1 but it wont show up in the External APIs section. I made a custom Mutant Spider (based off of Mutant Creatures) with animations and I'd really like to implement said animations but I can't figure out how, unless it isnt for Fabric 1.20.1.
I believe Geckolib is not compatible with Fabric… only Forge
@@Linkyplayz I mean, the title of the plugin is "Nerdy's GeckoLib Plugin [Forge & Fabric]." Just hoping the Fabric part is also 1.20.1 Fabric.
If anything, I'll switch to Forge, only problem is that I'd have to reset everyone's progress in my server and downgrade to 1.19.4 or 1.19.2, and many mods I have right now wouldn't be available; especially betternether and betterend
