The West Fork of the Blacks Fork River flows north for 16 miles thru northern Utah's Uintah Mountains. Some have described the valley through which flows the West Fork as one of the most scenic in all of Utah. I wouldn't disagree. A forest road follows much of the stream and if you have a high clearance vehicle you can follow it as it crosses the West Fork to the upper sections. Some nice cutthroats can be found here but most of the fish are modest sized brook trout with an occasional whitefish. The elevation here is over 10,000' so be prepared for unpredictable weather.

I always enjoy your videos.
Happy thanksgiving both of you ❤❤
Welcome to Utah. We lost the states best dry fly fishery due to human fire and mud slides and another fabulous fishery due to the drought. Happy that you found some nice fish to catch.
That's fucking sad
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. It is always great to view your videos. Thank you for filming in my home state of Utah. The Uintahs are known for the brook trout and lots of them. I will try the Blacks Fork this spring. I have extended family in Iron County MI, it is great to see your videos of rivers I fished while visiting family. Do you fish lakes? I know a lake in Iron River MI you should try.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Ann, Dan!
Gobble Gobble!
I live in central NY, we have awesome trout fishing streams including West Canada Creek and dozens of smaller streams on Tug Hill Plateau and Adirondacks. Highly recommend you explore this area someday!
NY has been on my radar for some time. I think next year there is a good chance I will be paying a visit.
OK, so if I were to plan a 3 week trip to the Tug Hill Plateau/Adirondacks area, what day of the year do you recommend I begin this trip?
I will be really excited to see your videos from this area. I do not want to steer you in the wrong direction by providing misinformation. I am a newer angler and do not know the best time of year to make the trip. An educated guess on my part would be similar times as Vermont as we are relatively close by. I am excited to try out your spinner/spoon with a fly technique. Thank you for creating this channel, I have learned a lot!
After doing some research, May, June, September and October are your best bets.
Happy Thanksgiving to You, Ann and your family. As always enjoyed your video, this time from Utah. You've often shown and said that the, (red and yellow?) Daredevil is a productive color pattern for you. Please respond if I have the colors correct and if comfortable let us know where you source them. Thank you in advance for your response. TIGHT LINES
A 1/16th oz Daredevle in color red with a yellow stripe down the middle is one of my favorite lures for trout. I've caught a lot of nice fish on that, including a 21" brown. I get them from the Daredevle.com website. Be careful to get the trout model.
@@CoppersmithStudios1 Thank you!
Thanks for sharing ... I enjoy your Rocky Mountain trips most of all. So overall would you say the East Fork was more productive?
The East Fork tends to produce more fish than the West Fork where we fished it. Further downstream on the E.F. the action is not so good.
It looks beautiful, but definitely needs some beaver dams to increase the cutthroat population.
Glad there wasnt creepy clown music in this video. hahahaha
Lost me at “too windy to fly fish”.
