Well I’m a vegan and my husband eats the SAD diet which makes me sad, but if I was married to this guy, I would jump ship.
Omg.lol
I’m just curious if Ritual is available in Canada? I’m trying to use your code, but I’m not seeing an international shipping option 😭
Can you do me a videos of this guy because I have an eating disorder and he really like enhance it and he kind of started it a little way like he made me feel more guilty
Why not list everything you sell and help sell here. Like allll those sponsors and shit.
The thing that I can't stop thinking about is how EXPENSIVE his diet and supplements are! My beans and rice could NEVER
Saaaame nothing organic in my kitchen
Right?!
My week of groceries costs less than his workout shake 😂
You have to keep in mind that people on low carb and keto diets often eat less than those eating more carbohydrates, so it may seem more expensive, but that food is going farther if someone is doing OMAD, only eating a couple times a day or doing several day fasts. So not necessarily expensive
SAME PROFILE PIC
Thanks to Bobby, I’ve learned so much about ingredients and what nutrition labels mean. I don’t follow all of his recommendations or his way of eating, but I find a lot of his videos pretty informative. My health and nutrition journey actually started with his channel. So I’m very grateful to him for that. Thank you for your review, Abby. I love how respectful you always are.
Agree! I enjoy his content :)
This is very well said. Same here, I’ve learned a lot from him and don’t follow some of his recommendations (well to begin with it’s very expensive 😄). But at the very least, his videos are good starting point to a healthy nutrition diet. Like you’ve said kudos to Abby for being civil in her review 🙂
Same, I feel like I learned a lot from his channel and it definitely inspired me to eat healthier than I did. But I quickly learned that I don’t have his budget (or sponsorships/affiliations) and had to learn to pick and choose what I took from his advice.
Thank you for sharing what works for you! Glad you enjoyed the review 😊

As the child of a mom obsessed with being fit & healthy, I can confirm how much the well-intentioned demonizing of “unhealthy” foods messed up my relationship with food, body, & self. I have memories of sneaking candy as a small child because I thought it was bad & shameful. So grateful to be unlearning those beliefs! You have helped me so much to neutralize food, & I feel so much more free now! Thank you! 😊
🙏❤
I feel so sad for the little girl you were :*( a lot of my friends didn't often have access to sweet things when they were little because of shortages in the USSR, but they didn't have to be told that this thing they wanted was somehow a contagion, when they did get chocolate they could savour it and relish it without any kind of guilt, just sheer chocolate bliss
IF your mom was obsessed how as a small child did you have access to candy?
@@marilynwillett804 Probably from friends, or bought with allowance or birthday money. Why does that matter? I grew up the same way and it wasn't until my late 20s that I was able to enjoy "bad" food in moderation instead of binging on it because I couldn't get it out of my head.
Why is unhealthy in quotes? SUGAR IS BAD FOR YOU. Eat what you want but don't like it's healthy.
I have fatty liver disease and I downloaded Bobby’s app and followed it and within 6 months my liver panel was back to normal!! He has helped me so much!!
Not how Non alcoholic steatohepatitis works
Are you a bot?
Bully for you.N=1.your personal anecdote is not a replicated double blinded clinical trial.did you control for confounding factors? A chef is not the same as a PhD or a MD or a pharmacist or a dietitian.
Bobby is awesome Our family has learned to eat so much better bc of him and his app. My kids love seeing if their food choices are in fact “Bobby approved”! He makes eating healthier FUN!! Please don’t hate on Bobby. No one’s perfect but if we all shine where we can the world will be a much brighter place ❤
The worst part is you are confirming that Bobby gave you advice to preserve your health. If he doesn’t have a license he can face serious legal repercussions including being criminally charged
Okay, as a fellow dietitian-nutritionist who enjoys your videos, this is one I've been waiting for!
Same!!
Yay!
I'm not a dietitian yet but I'm getting there
I hope it was helpful!
Dietitian here too! I’m always referencing Abby’s videos with the other RDs at my job haha.
Thanks for the non-stick cookware info! And as far as the "children will listen" thing, it's absolutely true. I worked in a daycare when the kitchen changed the menu and added more fresh veggies, quinoa, barley, and varied up the protein. The teachers balked, so the kids didn't eat. (Not my kids, though! We talked about the food, how pretty it was, and how fun to taste new things.)
Glad that was helpful!
So! This is COMPLETELY unrelated to your video, but I feel like you would love to know :) My husband and I recently adopted an adorable Akito named Keto. Any time you say Keto in any of your videos, he walks up to the TV because he wants you to pet him. Well, he took it a step further today and began looking for you around our house. He REALLY wants you to pet him :) You have officially won his heart❤️
Abbey, women like you are the reason I decided to switch my career and study dietetics, you're respectful but show them the facts, debunk harmful "Wellness" "facts," and you're just overall strong and knowledgeable. Thank you so much :)
Dayyyuuummmmm. I personally like some of the tips Bobby has. But I also have found myself at the supermarket saying, “this would not be Bobby approved, but eff it, it’s what I can afford!”. This was a reminder that balance is key.
Totally!
Same! I'm always looking for expeller pressed oils, but if something isn't expeller pressed and I want it, I'll say that exact thing. 🤣
Same 😂😂😂 My hubs and I do that too… 😂😂
Same! I like his tips too, but I use them as a guideline, not hard and strict rules! I don't feel shamed when I can't afford something,or eat something I know doesn't have the best ingredients. It's all about balance for me. I grew up always trying diets, and obsessing over calories and macros. Now I just try to eat healthier foods with good ingredients, but I also have learned over the years that I cannot be super restrictive because I will binge. So ya, I would say I am coming out on the other side of getting a healthier relationship with food, food, Bobby's tips are awesome. I feel like abby totally attacked him. She wants to talk about drinking games...if I took a shot for every time she rolled her eyes at his video, or parent shamed him....id be passed out. Lol I really wish Abby would be more open to diff ways of eating. Even though she said " if keto makes you feel good then good for you",but yet she rolled her eyes at every low carb meal he ate. I am not keto or paleo, but gggeeezzzz I respect people's alternative ways of eating. If keto or paleo isn't ur jam...dont watch. I dunno...I just feel she is so negative about so many people. I have only seen ONE video of someone she likes. I have stayed away from her channel for that reason, her videos are always so negative that it leaves me with a ho hum feeling afterwards. I dunno why I watched this one....I guess I was expecting something different ?
This mindset is why the cheap unhealthy food market always wins.
Watched this entire video abby . I’m still a fan of Bobby and appreciate his efforts on trying to help us be more aware of purchases at grocery stores. Personally, I have learned so much from him and I’ve made a lot healthier choices for my body since I began watching his videos months ago (while working out). I’ve made great progress since then and still now.
I absolutely agree Rose! He has helped me so much in my journey toward better health. I love him. I guess tearing him down will get some views lol! Ride those coat tails baby! 😆
Not sure she’s tearing him down I think she’s rightly calling out some of what he does that isn’t right. I like his videos and think he’s helped me look at certain foods differently but I do think there is way too much obsession with supplements, clean and fixation is too much. I think her review is balanced
The dietitian in this video supports the Big pharmaceutical companies of course she's going to lie not every dietitian is like her though there's ones that want to be honest these things that Bobby tells you to avoid actually they cause dementia another future health problems they don't want you to know that though because then that can keep you on a strict medication cycle you'll never be able to get out of they'd rather have us where we have to take pills instead of actually getting better
In fact I know someone who has a Doctor Who's a dietitian but someone at the honest ones and told someone I know whose parents is suffering from dementia to cut out all natural flavors artificial flavors and they've gotten better coincidence I think not this dietitian is deliberately deceiving people in my opinion just so they can't get future clients
@@gnasherunited4432 except there is no truth in what she says I've seen dietitians exactly what Bobby is saying those are the honest ones who don't support the pharmaceutical companies a lot of them don't care and want to get you on a cycle of medication haven't you ever noticed when someone has high blood pressure some dietitians will try to always have them on medication got lucky and had an honest one the truth of the matter is those extra ingredients that she's saying confirming Factor cause dementia I know someone that their parents had dementia and their dietitian honest tell him to cut back all those artificial flavors and lo and behold their dementia got better education only serves to make you smart in your subject what you do with that morally life is a different scenario altogether
Is no one going to talk about how this guy called his smoothie 100% plant-based, then proceeded to talk about the animal collagen that was in it? 👀
Plant based doesn’t always equal vegan
@@naturallyeccentric05 plant based means no animal products, so yes that’s not plant based
@@Mr35diamonds read the other comment and look up the word based
@@naturallyeccentric05 plant based always implies vegan, if a company is labeling a product 'plant based' and including animal products, they are directly misleading their consumers with this logic, a subway sandwich w deli meat could be labeled plant based, just bc it has a ton of veggies included. plant based labeling needs to meet the criteria of actually being plant based- - - - a vegan
@@cyberdaria vegan is a complete lifestyle change. Being that their are meat companies that make plant based food, plant based does not always mean vegan. That’s my point, companies are misleading.
I couldn't thank you enough for the information you put on your videos! You make healthy eating affordable and easy.
I enjoy watching him shop for groceries. However, I can’t keep up with all his suggestions, and I don’t have the time or energy to fact check all his info. Thank you for breaking it down for us! Abbey, I really enjoy your channel. 💜
So glad it was helpful!
I agree. I like that he is always showing products on sale or new products at the grocery stores that I always visit. But I can’t with how extreme he is.
i really dislike that he called the asian tea market dirty. such a typical orientalist stereotype - he would certainly be shocked to find out about the conditions american food are produced under.
No. He feels the same about certain practices in America, too.
I don't think so. It's just a fact.
@Lisa V I was in a foreign country and a man made the same blanket statement about America's food. They won't import our meat. It had nothing to do with race but policy.
@Lisa V It’s law regulations that makes US produced food in general so bad compared to the countries of the European Union (27 countries) The EU has much much stricter requirements about foods and the US doesn’t live up to them by far. Any pesticide, food additives, anything has to be proven safe by research and studies, submitted to the scientific divisions of the EU agricultural agency, before approved. GMO is banned in the EU. My country, Sweden (EU member) banned the use of growth hormones and antibiotics in healthy animals in 1985, first country in the world to do so. The rest of the world is slowly picking up now. Sweden has very strict animal welfare and environmental laws to. I can see the difference in for instance meat from abroad and when I travel abroad. The taste is so much better in domestic foods. In Sweden we don’t have salmonella anymore. We love US food across Europe - burgers and what not are extremely popular - but we don’t want to eat it produced in the US and most or the vast majority is banned from import because it doesn’t hold up to the food regulation laws.
That REALLY bothered me. And you're absolutely right. Even his "perfect" food is probably full of health halos and produced/harvested in horrendous environments.
Abbey, thank you for this video. I follow him & even started altering my diet based on statements he made. I was reading every label at the store. It got ridiculous & way too expensive. I decided to just eat a healthy diet, add more veggies & cut back on the sugar & snacks instead of eliminating them. Funny thing is I feel just as good as when I tried earing his way maybe even better.
I think he should come out with a low income cook book. 😂 his stuff is way to expensive, especially with a family!
Literally what I've done!
I'm sure Bobby would agree that the best diet is found in the outside areas of the supermarket rather than the center aisle. His educational tips serve a big purpose and, hopefully, is giving manufacturers a lesson in accountabilility!
No one said you had to follow his diet down to the exact details. This comment section is acting like Bobby has a gun to your head forcing you to buy everything he tells you. It's actually deranged. He's a guy in a supermarket making SUGGESTIONS. Is it a big secret that corporations add a bunch of fillers and other crap to their food? How is it bad to be skeptical and aware of that?
@@jasminerosepetal Bobby is a charlatan and you clearly didn’t learn your lesson from this video
Abby's videos make me realize I've had orthorexia related beliefs for years without knowing it and it's really nice to question these beliefs and see a different point of view!
Yep. Bobby is orthorexic and he encourages others to be
Such well informed and intelligent rd… am glad I found this video !!! So much to learn from you 🙂…Keep up the good work!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This guy hitting all the buzzwords every other sentence actually sounds like a parody of healthy eating lol
Yup 😂
Lol but youre gonna trust a "Dietician" that tells you to intentionally feed "Carbs" to your kids. Ok. 🤦🏽♀️
I appreciate you putting it all in to perspective!!!! Love the information you provide!
my mom has been saying natural does not mean anything arsenic is natural for over 20 years, it’s crazy how much misinformation is so widely accepted. Thank you for what you do abbey!!!!!!
Can you read between the lines? Obviously we know there are some natural ingredients that aren't good.. but we also know the chemicals that are also bad and food.. differences learning which ones are good and which ones are not and I can assure you that most chemicals in food are not good..
@@victoriamassey9830 No, they can’t.
“The most bougie extra meal” This is why I love Abbey so much!
As a type 1 diabetic, there's nothing I find more irritating then when people call a food 'diabetic friendly' because it's low carb. There are 2 things wrong with this: 1. type 1 diabetics can eat carbs!!!! We just have to match our insulin dose and insulin timing to the carbs in the food we eat, so we can literally eat anything everyone else can. 2. if a diabetic does choose to go low carb (which is totally their right and should be decided on personal preference, NOT what other people think is best for you), these foods still aren't 'diabetic friendly'. In the absence of carbs, protein and fat affect blood sugar levels, and a type 1 diabetic will instead have to calculate insulin ratios for protein and fat, rather than carbs. Can we stop seeing 'diabetes' as a one size fits all disease?!
Yes! I have diabetes type 2... but I also hate a lot of the “diabetic friendly“ stuff because not every diabetic has the same reaction to the same types of food. And how much carbs you should theoretically be eating can change based on what medication you’re taking or whether you’re actually taking insulin and whether it’s slow release or quick acting
@@penelopejane5285 exactly! And what type of exercise you do etc. It’s so individualised
Here here!!! I'm giving you a standing ovation!!! 🙌

@@AbbeysKitchen I did! Thank you!
I grew up with a dad who has a very similar attitude toward food as Bobby, and I even followed Bobby's videos every week for a few years, and while I'm glad I developed a taste for healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, I would have REALLY preferred to have my parent be less obsessive about what we ate. It made me really anxious about my food choices, and like Abbey said, once I did get the chance to eat what I want, I went wild and ate just about anything that I hadn't eaten before. I'm fortunate that I didn't develop an ED, but I did have an unhealthy relationship with food and I'm glad I have a much healthier relationship with it now. To this day though, I still deal with health-related anxiety because my dad kept hammering the importance of how certain foods will prevent cancer and others will cause it every single day. So, I do believe there is definitely something to be said about how obsession with clean eating can have detrimental effects on one's physical and mental health. Also, I wasted a lot of money as a broke college student on simultaneously trying delicious "unhealthy" foods I'd never gotten to eat before and grocery shopping expensive "healthy" supplements and powders and oils to "counterbalance."
I mean, at least you grew up being instilled with healthy clean eating methods and habits. My parents were the opposite and let me eat myself into childhood obesity. Now I am unlearning all healthy habits and trying to reverse my food/eating addiction. Trying to help them but unfortunately they don’t care and now my dad is diabetic with high blood pressure.
@@user-or9hu1qc8q From one extreme to another; but both are not sustainable or healthy emotionally. It's finding the balance =-)
I have followed him, as well. I didn't care for that preachy video, and his trying to get us to buy our food at that thrive market. I've always been concerned with his daughter. What happens when she grows up and wants to eat what her friends are eating...especially when she goes to college. I do appreciate his info regarding grocery store items. It's great to be informed to make our own decisions. Thanx for this video!
I've always wondered about Teflon thank you for breaking it down and making it just simple.
I just like understanding what is in food when I eat it. I don’t follow his info to a T but I like knowing what is in my food. I just now look for the minimal amount of ingredients in a product.
Agree … he doesn’t tell me what “I HAVE” to eat/not eat. He merely brings to my attention what ingredients to be leery of and how companies use fillers that garner more profit for them … food that likely are not as healthy for us as they claim. For me using his app helps me avoid crappy ingredient foods. As for prices … my health is 100% worth it.
I really like him and don't think he is holier than though as she said. I feel she is being super critical. He is just trying to help us
@@samsamthecat492 I used to think that. But his videos in the last few years has made me question his motives. I have noticed contradictory things over the years. I think some stuff he says is accurate and good to follow. Other things he says is incorrect and I dont like how much fear mongering he does when the vast majority of people can never afford the products he pushes. Just my two cents

I appreciated finding this. I really enjoy his videos in general but agree with the intensity of his food puritanism. Everything in moderation unless you have an illness, allergy or addiction. I survived a nearly 90% processed food diet fed to me in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s 😂 and live a very healthy, active, outdoorsy lifestyle with no chronic illness. I appreciate both of you. Thank you.
I love Bobby, alot of his recs have really helped with my gut health, I don't think he's pretentious just very passionate about what goes into his body, nothing wrong with that, you gotta take everything and everyone with a grain of salt. You are not meant to do everything that these people do or say . Pick what works for you and move on.

Right
You clearly didn’t watch the end of the video. Bobby uses shame, guilt and fear to get people to become orthorexic like him. If you follow him, it just means you’re an idiot
I'm literally getting second hand exhaustion. This guy needs to just LIVE

I like some of his posts but yes I agree lmao
That's literally wat he's trying to do.
You are right 💯! My siblings & I were on restricted diets during our childhood & we did all go wild & became overweight and struggled for a long time with yo yo dieting.
You are so right about teaching children how to be intuitive eaters. I struggle with that myself. I was never taught as a child. And it is something that I worked very hard at teaching my own children. I hope and pray that I did a good job with them. They are grown now and have children of their own. I still struggle myself. I appreciate all of your videos.

Id love to see an updated video about Bobby, now that it's widely known that he has financial ties to every brand and product he shares in his video, and often posts contradictory "advice" based on his partnerships. All without disclosing the partnerships.

We're living in a world with an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, cancer, heart disease etc. Being conscious of reading labels and focusing on healthy foods shouldn't be seen as a disorder. But i still do want to mention that Bobby Parish is indeed a quack. The vast majority of his advice isn't based on any science whatsoever.
Facts, look at Bobby’s physique compared to the general population of the United States.
Agreed! Everyone wants to put a label on things. I hate on how judgmental she is and mean. He is showing us his daily diet and for the people that follow him. They know that he educates his followers to make better decisions and even points to them where the better deals are happening. I suffer from colon issues. Before Bobby I’ve had trouble going to the restroom but after changing and following his recommendations. I’m feeling better and no blockage at all. It’s all In the proof that’s all in saying. I feel better and my colon thanks me for it.
@@Koolkidpablo123 She may come across as judgmental but to be honest Bobby does say some stuff that is just scientifically unproven. I like Bobby’s videos too because he shines light on the trash that is inside industrial food. But sometimes he just preached things that are unproven or wrong (like MSG being dangerous, vitamin C being an immune booster). So saying that he is “educating” is not always true, he often just spreads fringe theories.. Glad that it works for you though
He spouts misinformation. A lot of crap he says isn’t sourced or correct. It’s actually really bad what he’s doing. He doesn’t have the education or knowledge to teach people health advice
Thanks! 👏
Thank you! Just started listening to Bobby and getting a bit paranoid - thank you for the down to earth perspective
I feel like his intentions are not necessarily bad; but you did a great job of highlighting the power of his choice in language. Great video. He needs to understand his repercussions and pretentiousness

Thank you! I'm so glad they're helpful 😊
But she couldn't refute any of his claims. At most, she seemed like she felt it was unnecessary. Most of what he said had a point. He likes to eat super clean and is careful about what he puts in his body, checking every ingredient in the food product. Abbey is more about balance meals than what ingredients are in the food. So it's two different values.
I used to take collagen but stopped when I started making homemade bone broth. I add chicken feet which has a ton of collagen. I don't know why but I love drinking bone broth, I think it tastes soooo good. I don't know if it's doing anything for my health but it tastes delicious and it's actually kind of filling
I agree. Homemade Bone Broth is the best.
The end of the vid where you talk about his daughter and how parents are the primary role model for kids and their relationship with food really resignated with me, i grew up with a mum who constantly dieted, talked badly about her body and other ppls bodies and who even made comments on my body and it caused me to struggle with disordered eating that I still have to combat at times, i used to think it was just bc of Instagram but as i got older and looked back into my past I realised how often the ideas of “weight loss” “being skinny” etc was around me in my home life and I’m so glad you spoke about it in this video
Glad to get some “real talk” on Bobby! As someone who is recovering from Orthorexia I had ALL of his behaviors going on. I used to obsessively watch his channel too. I can’t with him anymore as his fear mongering pulls me right back in. Stay far away from Bobby if you have an ED.
I understand, I'm sorry if this was triggering for you!
What is ED?
in this context, eating disorder
Before watching this video I was pulling back from watching him .,, because his diet and food choices is too expensive!! I would go broke!! I stopped in the store, and I said to myself, wow so what can I eat 🤔.... he focus so much on the ingredients .he never look at the saturated fats.. what about that health, so much fat? You're so right about Bobby possibly suffering from Orthorexia. Many episodes ago, his wife Dessi mentioned that it's a shame that they live in the restaurant district in Chicago but can't go to all these restaurants as Bobby deemed them "unhealthy". And it's possible that some restaurant food can be unhealthy but being such a stickler and not enjoying food for its sake, even just occasionally reeks of obsession with "healthy, Keto, etc etc" food.
He just fear mongers a lot
He does not realize his body cleans itself of the wuppose toxins we eat.

No, that isn't true. He helps you identity the better products to purchase. There are things like thrive market, but he shows you the actual products in the store like at Costco, Walmart, whole foods, and others. The amount you can learn from him about reading labels is huge.
@@huntsman528 sadly, reading labels and knowing what your putting in your body, is something you should already know

I'm so glad I found your channel! I've watched many of Bobby's videos. I find him so rigid and restrictive that for me it is nearly impossible to follow all his recommends. I am working on getting healthier and reducing inflammation but I'm following the rule of progress not perfection and on my limited budget I need to find a balance and what works for me.
But he has no degree to back up his statements. And he’s not a trained chef.
Bobby is a self taught home cook who learned to cook from his mom. And has a bachelors degree in finance.

I know you're gonna get backlash from this and probably from Bobby but I agree 100% and it makes me really upset to see a parent talking about food that way in front of their very small child. I hope she grows up to have a healthy relationship with food.

For sure! Glad it was helpful
I feel like the man's diet is mostly powdered and "processed" for someone who cares so much about the words "natural" and "organic"
The fact that he doesn't eat those artificial things and all of those processes chemical says otherwise which means he doesn't eat processed and some dietitians actually suggest what Bobby is doing some dietitians though want to keep people dependent on medication instead of helping the source of the problem I know somebody who has parents who had dementia the doctor suggested cutting those things out just exactly like Bobby is doing and guess what he took the doctor's advice and his parents dementia went away because it was the food

Wow! I really enjoyed your take on this subject.
These videos with the collagen information have helped me look at collagen for what nutrients it claims to have not what it will claim to do. That's why I still consume it but not to strengthen my hair skin or nails. I never saw improvement with that. But because it's my favorite form of protein for a smoothie. I haven't found a vegan protein low in carbohydrates that I like and whey wrecks my gut. But collagen is pure, flavorless and a great addition to the silky texture of a smoothie
He has also said when you eat complex carbohydrates that it doe no spike insulin. White bread has no nutritional value . compared to whole grain wheat bread, or sprouted wheat bread, He also uses vegetable in his menu's. We have a Bobby Parrish cookbook, and found many great recipes. What I like, is he tells us what ingredients to avoid, carrageenan , natural flavor and many man more. He must be doing something right, he has over 3 million subscribers.

Spot on! One of my favorites of yours. I used a clip of his calling the dirty dozen 'scary dirty.' Ugh. His poor daughter...she's going to grow up with so much fear around food. Sad.
Haha, that’s a dumb comment Neily. How is she going to grow up with fear over food. She seems extremely happy and they never tell her to not eat something. Judge your own kin not others

Bobby is amazing and I love all his suggestions and help! Soooo much is wrong with our food sources. I really appreciate his honesty!
Couldn't agree more about Bobby. I used to follow him and found myself also obsessing about every ingredient. I had to just stop. I was driving myself crazy. Thank you for doing this review
Exactly; that's how eating disorders happen! It's people like him telling us that everything we're eating is bad in order to sell his sponsored products, and most of them are NOT FDA Approved! How he has the Subs he does it appalling!
Both of your comments are how I have been feeling. Trying to follow his recommendations , spending too much money for my budget kicked me right back into my ED. I would feel so guilty eating the “bad stuff” , thinking I’m poisoning myself so I just stopped eating much for awhile. Finally I deleted all of his videos, his app and went to a nutritionist to get me back on track.

How would you suggest speaking about foods such as fast food to help communicate the importance of infrequently eating them without "villianizing"?
