If you guys want know the reasons for the changes, Mushu is a Phoenix due to cultural appropriation, there’s a shapeshifting witch because China have beliefs in shapeshifters, Mulan doesn’t cut her hair because, cutting someone’s hair was considered a punishment and would have been a sign of disgrace, the songs will be background music and reflection will be sung in the end credits by Liu Yifei and Christina Aguilera, and shang is separated into two characters because of the me too movement and the director thought it was weird that Mulan was dating and later married her own general Also for the whole thing about the actress supporting the hk police, she didn't do anything wrong, she was forced to do it, in order to protect her family, a lot of Chinese celebrities had the do the same, in order to keep themselves and their families alive It’s not their fault that HK is getting killed, I'm sure they want to save you but they can't since they have to follow order from their own country

Maybe someone in Disney should stand up and say something. Along with the rest of Americans, including the president. Do we really need to be trading and interacting with the Chinese government ? I feel like the previous generation would have done something, even if it cost them their lives, much less a stupid movie. Last I checked, murdering thousands in concentration camps is wrong. Maybe we should stop being such pussies and learn how to man up and change the world for the better instead of making poor excuses for bad behavior. Let’s at least say that there should be no more movies promoting Chinese nationalism until they close down their concentration camps and stop persecuting people for their religious and political beliefs, particularly the burying people alive and torturing them to death part.
Guys, it doesn’t have to be a shot by shot remake, let it be good as it’s own thing, that’s actually one of the reasons why people hates the live action remakes, it would be pointless and very boring if it’s recreated the exact same way This film isn’t gonna ruin the original, it’s just gonna do something different, besides has anyone forgotten Mulan 2? that one has ruin the original, way before this one even came out

I knew from the very first moment they announced live-action few years ago that the opposite army will deal with something dark, magical or shadows (shadow-ninjas)! Ofc if they named them Huns like in 1998 it would be offensive today, and if they put a real blood-thirsty army it would be too controversial for Disney film... Btw they look more like they are from Middle East than that of ancient China

I still don't understand why they changed his name. Shan Yu is one of my favorite Disney villains. I'm fine with them redoing the character to give him more motives and backstory. But why the name change?

New Mutants as they made contractual obligations before Disney bought Fox. I’m sure it’ll be there in a month or two. Black widow as it’s still set for theatres in November unless this does well it will go to Disney+

The ancient chinese actually loveeee black, the emperor ancient ceremonial robe until 16th century would be black, the emperor has many attire including the daily gold robe. Sadly this went out of trend in 14-16th century. But in japan they still kept the tradition, geisha wore black as a sign of coming of spring
