A fine collection of Dave Allan (David Tynan O'Mahony ) sketches made between 1972 - 1986.
Dave was one of the best comedians I have ever seen as a youngster on Dutch television.
Producer: BBC
Year of production: 19??

I love Dave Allen. I used to watch him when I was a kid in the early 70's. A very funny man. RIP.
Every Sunday night on the local PBS WTTW in Chicago early 80's, Benny Hill, Monty Python, Dave Allen at Large, Doctor Who. Those Sunday nights made me fans for life of British TV.
He was briliant. Love him forever. RIP great man.

Dave, In the eighties, I saw you live in Melbourne at the Comedy Theatre, Do you remember...?!!! You looked at us, remarking how your hair had greyed, How you were no longer that Dave on the BBC we had all known so well in the seventies. I looked at you, Watched you smoke, Watched you drink, Your cut off finger. Drinking it all in, Reaching out to us, As if it were, For the last time. Indeed it was. Such a strange thing, A comedian. God rest you Dave Allen You made us laugh.
Ian Paisley, classic comedy. Brilliant !
Dave Allen is the comedian from my youth that I most miss. There was no one else like him. On the surface, he was all sardonic charm. Beneath the surface, there was an uncommon rage and anger against the hypocrisy of institutions (the church, the state, the military) and at the maddening aspects of day to day living. My favourite sketch is this one...the funeral race 24:49
He was and will always be the greatest ❤️ used to watch him as a kid with my dad who would be rolling over laughing; happy memories ❤️

I am a BBC-fan, so I remember so many of the actors from that time. Do anyone have names of other actors in the show? I am thinking of the tall, fair haired man with a broad face and a small up-turned nose (at 32:26). I have seen him SO often in funny shows. What is his name? He is probably still here. Do anyone know his name?
Michael Sharvell-Martin. No, he died in 2010. The short one is another long stalwart of British comedy series (The Benny Hill Show, Hancock's Half Hour, Rising Damp, Dad's Army, Are You Being Served?, Hi-de-Hi!), Ronnie Brody.
my mam said no... of course i did.
I love the old comedians but it’s hard to move to far away from the genius that is jo brand
