And I think it's a similar story when you look at things like razors... they make them in pink and lilac to sell to women, so obviously the market is very different for men and women. The name is crucial - one brand of women's razor is called Venus, which sounds lovely to women compared to "Gillette Triple Action close-shave razor" which would appeal more to men.

      @ItsThatVogue@ItsThatVogue4 жыл бұрын
    • He isn’t negotiating procurement, he’s negotiating an investment/partnership, two very different dynamics. Both guys have a reputation to uphold, if he hadn’t said what he did, it would look as if he was screwing them down on the % over and over, and they were just passively accepting it. He was smart enough to compliment them, and solidify their standing and reputation, while asking for another drop down, so that they could do it without losing face. Business in many ways should be purely numbers, but it really isn’t, even if both of them were happy at a certain %, if they were forced into a position where agreeing could cast them in a light that made them look weak, passive and easy to exploit, they would have to reject it. The entrepreneur wouldn’t have succeeded with that last push without it.

    @evo5dave@evo5dave4 жыл бұрын
    • This was so stupid and so lame. If you have persistent acne still go on accutane. You’ll never get acne again after a 6-9month cycle. And for any old acne scarring get collagen induction therapy like derma rolling or micro needling as well as fraxel laser resurfacing and actually Get Rid of the issue and have healthy skin instead of wearing makeup like a woman. Pathetic.

      @tinderella2386@tinderella23862 жыл бұрын
    • @@tinderella2386 Ah a medically qualified troglodyte I see. Roaccutane is not a permanent fix - the improvements often wear off after a few years: they did with me. It also has awful side effects and cannot be prescribed by a GP. And having collagen treatments isn't somehow being 'like a woman' but makeup is... Someone has issues.

      @evo5dave@evo5dave2 жыл бұрын
    • So anyone criticises the fact you’re a man wearing makeup and I’m an internet expert ‘troglodyte’?? The effects of accutane are permanent. You just needed to run another course. But it’s well known that they can permanently stop acne coming back and bodybuilders and big time steroid users use it and have permanent acne suppression. And also, yes, collagen induction therapy, which you obviously don’t even know what it is is far FAR less feminine and pathetic then wearing makeup. You can buy your own dermapen and do it yourself at home, and it’s a form of micro needling that creates thousands of micro trauma to the skin and induces it to promote more collagen. And it genuinely works for scarring and stretch marks and is the Only thing that does so. I had a few stretch marks from when my mental health was really poor and stacked on a bunch of weight, and did it on my stretch marks and it completely cured them. Or perhaps according to you it would have been better and more masculine to put some makeup on them? I would call an effective permanent solution to a skin issue with real efficacy just sensible. I would call being insecure about it and wearing makeup pathetic. And I wasn’t even trolling you and actually gave you some real world unbiased advice, but no no, you go keep wearing your makeup. Perhaps you can find a handbag to put it in when you go out.

This guy had a problem (though I couldn't understand what he said about that) and he found a way to overcome it and in the process realized there was an avenue for profit. That's capitalism. I doubt that the dragons would have offered to invest on the basis of feeling sorry for the guy, they invest because they see profit. That profit has nothing to do with how the product line came about, the profit comes from market availability: potential customers aren't going to buy because they feel sorry for the founder of the company, they are going to buy because they want what the company has to offer.
