In the last decade, the presence of the Mazda CX-5 has played a very important and crucial role for Mazda globally. Mazda's first car with theKodo DesignandSkyActivhas succeeded in making a sweet note to this day. However, like any successful car, there are always lots of questions about the next generation of the Mazda CX-5. Moreover, the Mazda CX-5 gen 2 is now 6 years old. And the bright spot regardingthe next genMazda CX-5 is now starting to appear.
Many people think that the Mazda CX-5 will be replaced by the Mazda CX-50, which coincidentally carries a similar name. However, in reality the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-50 have different approaches. And therefore, the existence of the Mazda CX-5 will continue. Quoting information from Drive , the latest generation Mazda CX-5 is predicted to arrive in 2025 with a number of crucial changes. The most obvious thing according to sources is the machine used. The third generation Mazda CX-5 will use a hybrid engine which makes it different from the current generation.

  • How much more is the hybrid v the ICE. My guess it will take many thousands of dollars in gasoline to break even on the increased cost of the hybrid, so......?

  • I thought that hybrids were the best alternative until I found the stratospheric amount manufacturers charge for battery replacement. I'll stick with gas at least for the near future.

    • I hear you. However, some of the earliest hybrids, that are now 15 years old, are still on the road and their batteries are 80% effective. That’s not too bad! Plus you have to think that a hybrid is primarily an ICE, so you only need the battery for brake regeneration.

  • The new cx 5 will have the rav 4 hybrid in it giving it a huge bump in all performance .If Honda doesn't fix things people will no longer buy the CRV.

  • I own a CX-50, and I don't see it replacing the CX-5 anytime soon, because they're really very different vehicles. The CX-5 is very much a "mommie-mobile", and seems targeted at soccer mom's with child seats in the back. (This is only a generalization). The CX-50 is much sportier, and seems more targeted at a male clientele.
