That is 100% done using a pitch shifter, you can easily hear that. But even with the pitch shifting, the voice acting is still amazing :)
Well it’s 90% real and 10% modified, like Jamie can make his voice very deep, but he can’t naturally add the Vecna touch to it
Met him at a comic con during a photo op for our kids. After working with and meeting celebrities throughout the years, I don’t get starstruck. I can honestly say though, Jamie was the coolest dude EVER!

Dear God, finally! Finally Jamie’s getting the recognition he deserves. I’ve been his fan for a long time now, and I still remember loving him sing, and loving him act, being Anthony Hope, Jace Wayland, Christopher Marlowe, King Arthur and so on, and always thinking that none of these roles actually brought him fame. Now, though, he finally got a big role in a popular show, which he obviously nailed, and now his fan base actually grows a lot, and that’s great)

For this bit, they are using a bit of voice changer for sure, it doesn't even sound like Vecnas voice.. But there are clips circulating of him doing the Vecna voice and it's all him, and really the only thing they add is a bit of echo.

I've been a huge fan of Jamie since watching his talent in the Mortal Instruments (City of Bones). Rewatched him in Sweeney Todd and realized it was a few years before his Mortal Instruments role. Then seen him in Harry Potter AND Fantastic Beasts. But whenen I heard "well well" in Stranger Things... I immediately pushed pause and had to look up why he was just an orderly on this show when he should be in a bigger role.... 😭 And ruined the ENTIRE 4th season for myself. He's wonderful and deserves so much more recognition for his talent. If you haven't listened to his music, it is incredible as well! ❤ Much love and respect for this man!

Not only Season 4 leveled up in quality/writing, but they nailed with the choice of actors for the new characters, Joseph Quinn and Jamie Campbell Bower, these are some of the people we want to see as the next mega stars. Its like everybody is so glad for their sucess.

Not sure about quality though. Season 4 was very inconsistent with Season 2's number 8 arc. They shouldn't have included her character in the first place if this is how they want to tell the origin of 11 and all the kids with special abilities.

Episodes 8 and 9 came out too late for Emmy consideration so maybe next Emmys he will get recognized since he wasn’t a big role until like the last 10 minutes of episode 7.
I can't believe he did that for Jimmy. He was asked by so many interviewers before and he politely declined as he was shy. This is the best thing on internet now!!!! Way to go Jamie❤️ Your talent never ceases to amaze us🔥
I think that's because they had a mic with a pitch shifter here and in all the other interviews he was asked they wanted him to do it with his real voice. You need a lot of vocal warmup to lower your voice in that register and not damage your voice. The fact they had a mic with pitch effects on it made it possible this time.
They also didn't spring it on him out of nowhere. When you go on big talk shows generally your publicist or someone on your team does a "pre interview" with the show to approve questions. So Jamie would have been aware and able to prepare himself that this was coming.
But they gave Him a dodgy effects Mic. Jamie can do the voice without effects. (I know they added some in post for the show, but have heard the raw and it's just as terrifying)
Its not that Jimmy or anyone else could've pulled that off, even if the mic had a pitch shifter. Also the depth in his voice changed after every dialogue, it wasn't exactly like Vecna afterwards
Also, his natural voice is deep as well. Listen to him reading pages out of books on KZhead or listen to his songs, especially Paralyzed.
It will never not amaze me how he gets his voice to sound like that. Serious kudos to his acting.

Yeah in the interview they did something to make it in deeper. Jamie said in an interview that he has to do some sort of prep to be able to do it, there is video somewhere on youtube though where you can hear only his voice while recording it, it‘s insane!

I really like how his character in the beginning is just a random guys in the El memory asking about random thing repeatedly… but turns out to be THE villain…! Wow the plot is amazing

I didn't realize his Vecna voice was exactly how it sounds in the show 😵 I thought there was some voice changer effects added. Holy crap his voice can get so deep!
I thought it was some kind of voice effect too! Had no idea that was his real voice.
There are slight voice effects, that's why Jimmy handed him the handheld mic, the effects are going through that mic. That's why he didn't use his normal mic pinned to his clothes.

There was a filter effect added. You can hear it in the reverb.

Jamie is such a great actor! Its such a shsme he didn't get to finish his reign as Arthur, or even be crowned as King, in STARZ Camelot. Sadly, it was canceled after only a single season. It was a great show, well written, excellent casting, & very fitting for STARZ. Both Jamie & the show, as well as the rest of the cast, deserved more.😢 Im gladhe's FINALLY getting some of the recognition he is so deserving of. He also got jipped out of furthering his role as Jace Wayland, as there should have been more than a singular Mortal Instruments film. He was AMAZING as Jace. I'm looking forward to anything & everything in his very bright future. I hope his role as Vecna affords him bigger & bigger roles. Can't wait to see his project with Costner!

Jamie really nailed his role as Vecna/001 as a creepy and terrifying villain, but once he's off his costume, Jamie is really just a charasmatic and lovable normal guy who's sure to have a bright future as an actor. 👍🏽💙

Yeah -- he is so talented - and his voice is so amazing at all times; Vecna is of cause crazy-talented done, but his singing and even just 'normal talking' when he is relaxed is just sooo soothing and calm ..
In ST, he can do the voice and they just add a bit of reverb on top, but this particular microphone was used to make is voice deeper! 😊
In his normal voice you can kinda hear how low his register goes so it is cool that he can tap into that

I love how Jimmy loves Stranger Things, he has invited the cast one by one, I'd really love if he could have them all just for once, including the Duffers, but I suppose their agendas are full and that would be a whole show just for them, but that would be awesome, this cast is amazing

I remember watching Jamie in Sweeney Todd like 14~15 years ago. He was literally a baby back then and he had such great singing voice. His performance as 001/Vecna was AMAZING. As 001 he was so intense and charming, as Vecna he scared the hell out of me🤣 Can’t wait for the next season.
