Additional storage systems will never be superfluous. They can be made from a wide variety of materials. The main place is occupied by baskets. Nowadays you can’t live without them, in our time, when everyone has a huge amount of all kinds of little things, it’s simply necessary to have additional storage space. Just a whole bunch of wires.
Then there are cosmetics, stationery, toys, balls of thread, materials for hobbies, a whole bunch of socks that need to be put somewhere.
Baskets can be hard, for example, made of wicker, cardboard, or soft, made of fabric. Both are needed on the farm.
I will sew an original basket from leftover fabric. The most win-win option for jeans, it is thick and looks great in any condition. For the inside, I took the remnants of the fabric I used to upholster the chair.
- The basket consists of 4 parts. It should be taken into account that when cutting, all front blanks should face one way, and the back ones should face the opposite direction.
- For additional rigidity, I smoothed dublerin onto the jeans. Then I placed the synthetic padding under the bottom and smoothed it in the same way; under the influence of temperature, it was compressed and became dense.
- I folded the parts according to the diagram, in exactly that order, otherwise I first mixed them up and folded them differently. As a result, nothing happened.
- First, I stitched together two parts. Then I connected everything together.
- Each petal was connected to each other. Where there were bends, I made cuts with scissors. I smoothed out the seams.
- In the same way I stitched together the details of the interior.
- I folded both blanks with the right sides facing inward and stitched along the edge, leaving room for turning them inside out. The seam was sewn by hand. I placed a finishing stitch along the edge.
- The basket turned out to be double-sided, it is easy to turn it on either side.
