Long Covid: A parallel pandemic

Many people may never be able to put the pandemic behind them. They have long Covid, a catch-all term for illness that lingers long after a Covid-19 infection. More than 200 symptoms have been reported by patients, from hair loss and incontinence to severe tremors, anxiety, extreme fatigue and heart palpitations. “Even if the pandemic virus spread were to stop today, we still have tens of millions of people suffering long Covid,” says Yale immunologist Akiko Iwasaki. “That’s a parallel pandemic that’s happening, which is getting a lot less attention than the acute and severe Covid.”
In this video, we hear from people struggling with long Covid and what scientists have learned about the condition - or conditions - so far. Iwasaki explains long Covid’s diverse effects on the body - on the central nervous system, the gastrointestinal tract, the respiratory and cardiac systems, and more - and the search for biological origins. Long Covid is likely more than one disease, but without biomarkers that indicate who will get long Covid and the ways each case will manifest, personalizing treatments is challenging. The prevalence of long Covid has been a wake-up call, Iwasaki says, for society to investigate other syndromes that emerge after a viral infection.

  • I cried watching this. I had Covid in September 2020. I still suffer with shortness of breath, fatigue and muscle/joint aches. At the time I had the virus, they took an xray to rule out pneumonia...and the xray was clear (or so they said). Fast forward a year later, I had a Cardiac Cat Scan (looking for hardening of the arteries because since covid....I have heart palpitations), they found something called bronchiectesis (which is basically scarring from a virus) in the base of both lungs. Apparently, I did have covid pneumonia but it was unable to be seen on an xray. I was told if I they had cone a Chest CT at the time, they would have seen it. My doctors don't take me seriously. They keep telling me there is nothing wrong with me. I get frustrated very often because I am not crazy. I have not felt the same since I had covid. My heart goes out to all people who have suffered and are still suffering with this. It's strange, but I do take some comfort in knowing I am not alone. Thanks for this video.

  • My sister caught Covid in early December 2021. She was very very sick for at least 3 weeks, and very weak at Christmas. In January she seemed to be on the mend, but in February her health took a bad turn. She started getting all-over body jerks, like you sometimes get when falling asleep. But these were repetitive and very strong, and resulted in an overnight stay in the hospital. She came home to be about 95% bedridden for the next 6 months, being cared for by our 80 year of mother. Her initial diagnosis became a bane and burden she could not get any doctors to get past. She was mis-diagnosed with anxiety because her heart pounded so hard and her blood pressure was so high. Doctors persisted in trying to treat her for anxiety instead of exploring what was truly going on. After months of unhelpful visits to neurologists and cardiologists with no answers, she researched her symptoms on her own. She discovered they closely matched both POTS and Fibromyalgia. After implementing therapy practices for those, also on her own, she began to recover. Though she is still not yet capable of returning to work, she has returned to a moderate version of her previous life. She can now spend 95% of her day out of bed instead of flat on her back. She can now leave home for short shopping trips. She can return to making her own meals and doing her own housework, though at a much slower pace than before. As time goes by and she continues these therapies, she continues to slowly improve. We have no idea if she will ever be able to return to the work force, but she is now able to babysit her granddaughter and enjoy life again.

    • @@anitaparks8945 It all comes down to a financial plan. To help the covid extreme danger, 10 new trillion dollars were injected in the monetary system, to help the covid victims, including the people who could not go to work, because of the "preventive quarantine". It just happens that 10T dollars is way way to much for this "cause", specially if we take in account that the biggest "quantitative easing" money ever created/introduced in the economy, so far, was 2 Billion. And it was in a 5 year interval in the 90´s. This time it was 10 trillion (not billion) between the time of covid crisis 2020 to 2021. Hence the inflation we are seeing now, created by it and not by the russian invasion. Covid is a created financial issue, not a "medical issue". Still, it is has to be a medical issue, because it wouldnt last or would not have the credibility that it had (and still has) if real illness cases would not show, and in many cases remain. I would say its a controlled planed illness (most probably not a virus or even a man-made virus, but a toxic element or a group of toxic elements directly or indirectly got/get introduced in the human bodies, that sometimes (many times) ends up in death. The genocide theory is just another distraction to deviate the public attention. By demonizing the "conspiracy theorists" people will blindly accept the TV narrative, because they were given only these two options. He had mild symptoms but five days after he got better, 10 days after becoming infected, he instantly got severe anxiety that had him pacing the floor for hours on end, he began to believe that his father and I were not his real parents, he was making these incredibly odd decisions and believed celebrities were talking to him or about him through there posts, he also had days where he thought this was all a simulation. I took him to doctors who brushed me off. I knew it was covid. Eventually I just flooded his system with homeopathic anti-inflammatory herbs and a ton of love and after 3 months he was back to normal. THen..... He got covid again! And like clockwork the symptoms came back with a vengeance. We are thankfully at the end of it now with some lingering symptoms but I am terrified of covid now. Exhaustion, brain fog, digestive issues and the list goes on. I suffered from a leg cramp for 4 months that left me in tears. It is believed that ME/ CFS is related to a virus ( Epstein Barr, in some cases ). Just as for Long COVID symptoms, there is no biomarker for ME/CFS. Fortunately, there is research ongoing for ME/CFS - at Stanford University, as well as many Universities around the world, such as the Uppsala University in Sweden. Dr. Ron Davis, from Stanford U ( Phd in Biochemistry, Phd in Genetics ) has been studying the cause of ME/CFS and looking for cures. His own son has severe ME/CFS. Dr. Davis is truly empathetic to all those with this disorder. At the moment, the research is leaning towards a certain amino acid that does not shut down at the cellular level as it should. This is very encouraging for all ME/CFS patients, as there is hope for even just a biomarker.

  • Thank you so much for sharing. This illness has debilitated me for months. It's so incredibly isolating and watching this and reading the comments and seeing so many others going through the same pain and struggle makes me emotional. I am 27, was a healthy college student, working, trying for a baby, when COVID hit in June. My health declined gradually and then in September I couldn't work anymore, or hold my head up for that matter. I've been to six different doctors and specialists. Extreme neuropathy, muscle tension and weakness, chronic widespread pain, brain fog, cognitive dysfunction all around, tremors, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, migraines, hair falling out in clumps, increased heart rate, body in a constant state of bracing and fight or flight, panic attacks, shortness of breath and bone and joint pain. I cannot hold a coffee cup many days and I walk with a cane when I am well enough to walk around. Two neurologists tried to put me on antidepressants and finally a pain doctor prescribed me gabapentin. It has helped with the neuropathy and tremors tremendously. This is real!!! I feel like everyone is exhausted from the pandemic and doesn't want to acknowledge us. There is very little sympathy or understanding of this in communities and I hope to see more and more testimonies being shared so that people know the severity of this chronic illness attacking multiple systems in the body. You guys aren't alone out there. I am trying to accept what is happening to my body and my mind and it is a long process, but the validation and connectedness that comes from reading all of these comments is helping.

    • I agree. It’s comforting to some degree to be in a community where you’re not alone. I am sorry you are going through these things. 18 months for me. A lot of the same issues… Can’t breathe, shortness of breath, can’t take in a full breath, wheezing, sneezing, coughing, food allergies/ sensitivities, diagnosed “asthma” (never had my entire life. I’m 41), gut issues, itchy areas of my body, hives or a sort of rash that breaks out on my face if I eat something that triggers it, brain fog, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes in my groin. WEIRD! I have seen so many freaking specialists, blood tests, stool tests, an Endoscopy, a Colonoscopy. Seen an ENT for allergy testing twice which was a waste of time. Diagnosed by him with “allergic rhinitis/sinusitis because of my severe congestion yet runny nose. It’s been a living hellish nightmare! I finally have a Naturopath and will be mentioning the I-recover long Covid protocol set forth by the FLCCC Alliance. They are a group of Dr’s that have developed protocols for sufferers like us. Look them up please and maybe we can finally get the help we deserve!! Best wishes and let me know what you think and how you’re doing! ❤️

  • The first time I had Covid was February 2020. I didn’t connect it to Covid, because we thought it was still just in China. I thought it was just walking pneumonia. All my symptoms were strictly breathing issues and pooping 4 times per day instead of once. I never had a fever. I did hair, the whole salon was sick with a respiratory and we weren’t masked, we were spreading it like crazy and didn’t know. The salon closed, I went home to recover from March 11th, still sick. In May the shop reopened but I refused to go back. I was still sick. In April I saw a kid on tv with Covid, I did his hair in late February. I’ll never know if he gave it to me, or if I gave it to him. I think I gave it to him. Sad. Nobody at work when I reported that we had done his hair even cared, the boss called me to make sure I was ok, but she didn’t report it, I got no call from the health department etc. I did try to get the health department to test me, they refused. At that time, they would only test if you had a fever. I never had a fever. The doctor said it was Covid but couldn’t test. My lungs tested at 40%. In June I got better. Then in September 2020 I caught it again! This time the breathing issues were better, less issues. But, at the end of September my body shot into an autoimmune response and I developed erythema nodosum on my lower legs. We fought it for 5 months with steroids and ice packs, I was so swollen I could barely walk. ANA was negative. Even with me so horribly bad ANA continued to test as normal. Finally in desperation I got the Moderna shot in April. The next morning all symptoms vanished. The erythema was 100% gone. Then exactly 28 days later I was hit with horrible back pains in my lower back. They are still there today. I can’t stand long, maybe 15 to 20 minutes on a bad day, 1 hour tops on a good day. I’m unable to work. The hair died on my lower legs, my feet are numb and tingly. My foot on the left is weaker, I have issues driving but still do it. Finally a neurologist said it’s small fiber neuropathy but I still need a biopsy for confirmation. As I write this the erythema is back… we all need help. Our support group for long Covid was at 20k people in 2021, it’s now 90k in 2022. Disability has stopped approving applications if you need it you must get a lawyer to obtain it. The government has done nothing for any of us, we are ignored.

    • The spike protein of the virus is using the TLR4 protein on our T Cells to Trigger an inflammatory immune response. This is to cause deregulated release of Cortisol that lowers TLR4 inflammation. Cortisol then suppresses lymphocyte gamma interferons and IL-8 cytokines and effectively suppresses the primary immune response allowing the virus to spread. Cortisol also primes the secondary immune response and you get increased cytokine inflammation. To promote CD4+ helper T Cells you get elevated Extracellular ATP (the energy molecule) that increases Il-18 cytokines that in turn promote CD4+ helper T-Cells and increase lymphocyte gamma interferons. IL-18 cytokines are also linked to deep vain thrombosis so ATP has to help break down these blood clots causing fatigue. Cortisol at elevated levels also disrupts gastric secretions, lowers circulating testosterone needed to regulate systematic inflammation, causes insulin resistance and can increase blood glucose leading to diabetes. Cortisol is also correlated with homocysteine. At elevated levels homocysteine is linked to COPD,, Alzheimer’s and hardening of blood vessels and blood clots. With the original SARS the virus was found to be infecting the ACE2 receptors if cells in the endothelial wall. In response homocysteine increased the adhesive molecules on the surface of immune immune cells binding them to the infection causing inflammation. By disrupting gastric secretions this means the ph levels are not low enough to promote secretions off the digestive enzyme Pepsin. Pepsin not only helps absorption of vitamins and minerals but also helps fight bacteria and viruses and in vitro break down blood clots. Cortisol can also increase TNF-Alpha cytokines by causing muscle cells to stop using glucose and start degranulating proteins. Excessive cortisol production can lead to adrenal fatigue which can cause chronic inflammation, fatigue, digestive issues and autoimmune disease. Try talking to your doctor about the following. 1. Taking a combination of 4,000 IU of Vitamin D3, C, B12, B5,B6 and magnesium and zinc. 2. During twice daily 250 ml of water with 1/4 teaspoon of salt. This will help to increase electrolytes to treat adrenal fatigue and the virus may be hijacking the protease the body uses to regulate salt and water absorption. 3. Taking a gradual increasing dosage of Betaine HCL (500mg) with Pepsin (24mg) Betaine HCL inhibits TLR4 receptors, lowers key cytokines IL-18, IL1-b and TNF-a. It reverses insulin resistance and lowers cellular atp. Betaine also lowers cortisol and homocysteine and increases testosterone needed to regulate systematic inflammation. Cortisol can also inhibit IL-10 signalling needed to regulate inflammation when there is blockage along the lung of Blood vessels. Betaine HCL with pepsin is ineffective at low dosage but must only be considered under medica supervision as it can affect cellular atp needed to provide energy to cells and the body and cannot be take with aspirin, ibuprofen, Tylenol, steroids or Pepcid Famotidine as it can Susie bleeding to the stomach. It also cannot be taken during pregnancy. The dosage is 1 pill with each meal 3 times per day gradually increasing to 2 pills depending on tolerance. A living hell with panic attacks and a lot of pain, extreme fatigue and brain fog, high inflammation, when I was in my early 30’s. Because of mold exposure and hormonal changes after giving birth. Doctors were clueless. Cleaning my diet, osteopathic treatment and increasing my sunlight exposure in winter helped, plus a lot of visual mental imagery of seeing myself getting better. I’m glad at least Covid brought doctors to investigate more on these issues.

  • I almost died in January 2020. Before I heard a word of it. I work next to a large airport and almost every employee was sick. I took myself to the ER twice because I could barely breath. The first time “lose weight” the second time “panic attacks”. It took me 8 months to be able to say a sentence without stopping several times to catch my breath. Long Covid has never been suggested by multiple doctors I’ve seen. I’ve been basically begging for help for almost 3 years. My anxiety and depression (depression never had) are so bad I’m on meds for that. My body aches every day. I’m 34 and pee on myself daily. Cramps, hair loss, numbness most of the day, migraines, nausea, memory loss and brain FOG (feels like early onset Alzheimer’s), dizzy most of the day. I’ve quit my job and it’s been about a year since I’ve worked. I’ve gone to several medical professionals trying to figure it out. Most say to lose weight which is infuriating. I’ve gained almost 30 lbs because I could barely walk for a year. I feel crazy because everyone’s telling me I’m healthy and fine. I’m not. I feel good watching this and reading these comments. Bitter sweet knowing so many of us are still suffering but that I’m not alone and it’s not all in my head due to anxiety. I’ve also started hallucinating but have not heard of this as a symptom. Anyone heard of this? It started when I first got sick and hasn’t gone away. Never had it before. Good luck everyone. ♥️

  • Had the Pfizer vaccine in June 21. Next day I was in hospital with heart problems. Palpitations, sharp chest pain, felt like I was having a heart attack. I just didn't feel right mentally either. At the time I was incredibly fit. Training 1 hour a day, weight training, boxing, running 10k 3x week. After the vaccine I got insomnia, massive anxiety and panic attacks. Then came terrible depression, severe fatigue, horrendous brain fog, dizziness, hair loss, tinnitus. My brain feels dead and I have no concentration now. I have no energy to work out and get tired walking a short distance. I aged really quickly and within 3 months looked 10 years older. In fact I used an age guesser app and the photos 3 months apart went from appearing 36 to 47. The doctor's denied it could be from the vaccine despite it literally happening the next day. They say it's anxiety and depression. I got prescribed sertraline and took one tablet. This sent me into a state of mania and I developed akathisia which was truly scary. I would pace up and down the hallway during the night turning lights in and off. I couldn't walk properly and would lurch when moving.i lost my job from all this. This all lead me to be suicidal and I've attempted it several times. I've slowly got worse and am now bed ridden most days. I wake at 3am every morning screaming in terror. I've tried herbal medicine, sleeping tablets, sleep therapy, CBT, counseling, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, meditation, yoga. Nothing works. It's robbed me of what was a very happy successful life. I won't last much longer though. I so regret having the vaccine. I never wanted it but my partner and her family kept insisting I have it. They refused to allow me to visit until I had it. So eventually I relented to keep things harmonious. Now my partner has had enough of me being mentally ill and unable to work and wants to leave me. She said it's affected her life too much and thinks it's all just in my mind. No one believes me when I say it's all from the vaccine despite it all happening straight after having it. It's so frustrating that everyone seems to think I'm crazy for thinking it's the vaccine and seem to think I'm just making up the issues I'm having. My life has turned to hell since the vaccine.

  • These symptoms are oddly similar to Lyme Disease and coinfections. Wondering if those suffering from Long covid are actually suffering from reactivated Lyme Disease. Perhaps, they never knew that even had Lyme, as their immune system was keeping it in check, until Covid came along and crashed the immune system allowing the stealth pathogens to rise up and take over. Just a theory, but if you are suffering you may want to get tested or seek out a LLMD or funtional medicine doctor.

  • The autoimmunity trigger makes a lot of sense because my mother and my fiance both contracted sepsis for completely different reasons 2 years apart and they have the same symptoms. Brain fog, memory loss, vibrations in the body, muscle spasms, random severe cysts on the body and many more issues. My mother already had many health issues before and said the sepsis was the worst in how it has affected her body she said its like its on overdrive now. It took such a toll on her and even on my man who only got a cold twice in his life. It's crazy to see what infections do over time on the body. I really appreciate how she broke down the 4 hypotheses, very helpful. So many people don't know how import gut health is either, so much of our immunity is held in our intestines, once that's thrown off all hell breaks loose.

  • Having had ME/CFS since 1994, I cry every time I watch anything on long covid. I think of how much torture this syndrome put me through. How it permanently devastated my hopes, dreams, and options. I never got to live, as I contracted Epstein Barr freshman year in college and failed out because of missing so much school. I'm glad long covid is getting more traction and I hope it continues to. I also hope that it extends to post viral illnesses overall because that's the issue. The discrimination and marginalization I experienced as a result of this "invisible" chronic illness is incalculable. I lost my future to this. It feels like a slap in the face to see this being acknowledged while Cfs/ME folks had to endure all these years of dismissiveness and denial. It is still very rare to see anything like this video done on cfs/me. It's both infuriating, frustrating, and heartbreaking. Yes, effective treatment is essential but from an institutional standpoint, sufferers need financial support and to be a protected class as a vulnerable population. I experienced so much ableism and barriers from school, employment, etc. Fortunately virtual work has become accepted due to the pandemic, a side effect and saving grace for many of us. I am finally close to finishing school but I have to do virtual and slow pacing. This is scary as someone without family and financial help other than the very limited pittance of disability income. With the economy so overpriced, Capitalism is our biggest enemy as disabled persons with cfs/me and all post viral sufferers.

Everyone treats it like it's a cold or something. "Just cleanse Just think positive. Just detox. Just take this supplement. Pay for this protocol." Listen carefully: This is a REAL chronic, debilitating, long term illness. Not a cold. The whole "pull yourself up by your bootstraps/toxic positivity/take personal responsibility" is so problematic and exposes your lack of empathy and humanity. With CFS ME (and now long Covid) we have to not only struggle to function physically, mentally, and financially every single day, but we also have to deal with chronic invalidation, neglect, isolation and gaslighting from medical professionals, family, friends, and strangers on the internet. When you can't get out of bed, when you're so weak you can't work and do menial tasks like take a shower, when YOU go through it, then comment. Otherwise, listen, learn, and understand.

There has been plenty of awareness, and time for research funding for post-viral illness/MECFS for *many* years. And, renowned researchers, such as Ian Lipkin of Columbia Univ. tried to explore possible microbiome (gut) mechanisms about 7 years ago. (As a patient community we, despite being so ill ourselves, engaged in fundraising (aiming for 1 million $) to try help the Lipkin lab raise enough $ for his research. Imagine constantly trying to fundraise for such an ignored & severe illness while so ill!) Dear LC cousins, we are in this together. I am hoping for a much better and faster response from the medical research community (e.g. NIH $) for you all. It didn't have to be this way. 🙏

My geographic area has been assaulted by repeated outbreaks of "unknown" "really tough" viral illnesses. They begin with mild upper respiratory but within 48 hours, the digestive system is ravaged. Many patients need months to recover and some never fully recover. Before COVID, my friends and I wondered where the old fashioned diseases had gone, the basic colds, flu and "stomach flu". When we have gotten ill in the last 15 years or so, it has been with the long lasting mystery viruses. (We got COVID early in 2020 and none of us were very ill. We had previously been horribly sick with the "really tough" viruses. For what it's worth.) Patients who failed to recover in about 21 days and who were stupid enough to keep complaining, were discarded into the human garbage dump of psychiatry. Our small town doctors in clinical practice insisted no one could be sick with a virus for more than 21 days. After that they would pointedly ask, "What is wrong with YOU", in a way that made it plain the patient was accused of malingering, hypochondria, or other mental derangement. The global spotlight is upon Long COVID and doctors and researchers will be held accountable. These patients will not be marginalized and ignored!

Since then I am struggling a bit with long Covid. I get short of breath very easily. I push through, because I refuse to give in to it, but I tire so easily. Some days I can barely get off the couch. I get shooting pains in my arms. The most annoying thing for me is my speech is slurred. I stumble over almost every sentence. My memory is poor now, but my cognitive skills are also affected. I do stupid things that I normally would not do. Example: I was stacking firewood one piece at a time at the back of my yard without even considering g using my wheelbarrow leaning against the shed next to the wood pile. It seems silly, but it's concerning for what the future holds. I don't know if this is going to get worse. One thing I do know is, I will never ever give up.

Since march 2020, everybody in the family, doesn't visit each other at all and if we need to talk, we will call each other. And months can go by and not speak to the family, we all do this. We end up getting Covid for the first time. This shouldn't happen to anybody, that's the way I feel . I just wished I was feeling 100% better . I have breathing issues , fatigue , and a lot of coughing. I wished Everybody were back to normal and feeling good.

  • Back before COVID was identified in the U.S. I came down with a really wicked virus in Jan-Feb 2020 and I could not shake it. I had all the symptoms, I went to the doctor and was tested for Flu and for strep. Both of those came back clear. The virus took at least another month before it went away. The coughing was the longest of those symptoms. There was no testing then, we weren’t even really that aware of it yet in the US all that much. The fatigue was pretty bad also. To this day I still have issues with loss of taste. That never returned as it was before.

  • What they are describing is what every single person with a chronic illness lives with daily and have been for decades, if not their entire life. Those of us who have a chronic disease like Ehlors-Danlos Syndrome for example, also have the lovely added bonus of our main ailment and the Comorbidities that are uniquely associated with. At least you Long-Haulers are able to be fairly quickly diagnosed, believed and treated. Where are most of us chronic disease suffers are gaslighted by our doctors, no taken seriously, passed over, neglected and flat out ignored. We are left untreated, in agony daily. Knowing very well something is wrong but the experts don’t believe you nor do they listen. You spend decades searching for answers till finally something miraculous happens and you receive your diagnosis. I can only wish the media would help spread more awareness like they have done with Long-Haulers.

  • Talk with your doctors about benfotiamine (B1) and Magnesium Citrate, and vitamin D. Long Covid (sars cov 19 after infection effects) is real, it is different than long flu, it doesn't hit as hard or quick as H1N1 did but it lasts for a lot longer. Within the last 5 months (since may 2023) I had some life stressors (roommates move-in) and I think some dormant cov19 re-attacked me then. Over the last 5 months my anxiety went bad, my essential tremors got worse, my ibs-d got instant, my chronic cough got worse, I lost over 35Lbs, my muscles became weaker, (male over 30), my adhd and asd got worse, I felt completely without energy all the time, my body was in constant pain, I couldn't think, my emotions were everywhere. Everything caused a panic event. At the time I thought it was just my "life stressors", looking back though, the symptoms fit well for long covid ( for both the unvaccinated and vaccinated peoples). I have never felt that extreme amount of low and hopeless before, (with my life experiences, and other traumas that's an accomplishment). I was depleted. I'm still not back to what I was before May 2023, not even close, but through the month of September I had consistent intake of electrolytes and vitamin supplements, with that I'm back from the brink but still have a long ways before I'm better. Bleeping IBS and Tremors. I know the supplements are a band-aid, and something internal to the cells/glands/enzymes is not supporting normal dietary uptake, but what else can I do. Anyways talk with your doctors about B1 Magnesium and Vitamin D, (not a multivitamin, not a b-complex, not something with tons of fillers, not something with oxide).

  • This was so sad, but I could definitely relate. I think I had covid in January 2020 with a high, unexplained fever for about a week and a half. I had a cough but nothing major. That bout, I recovered from. Got vaccinated, then caught covid again in December of 2021. This time was much worse. Fever, exhaustion, etc. Ended up also being treated for bronchitis and pneumonia. It was the worst I've ever felt. Was sick for more than a month. Today, I'm still dealing with brain fog, exhaustion, balance issues, and shortness of breath. I actually went to the ER yesterday due to serious shortness of breath and coughing, where they told me I have bibasilar atelectasis - which is a partial collapse of the lower lobe of both lungs. I can't walk from one room to the other in my home without getting breathless and lightheaded. I feel better knowing I'm not the only one dealing with this and I really hope that not only does this become more widely known and accepted, but some kind of treatment or cure can be found to help everyone being affected.

One of the things consistently missing from these long Covid discussions and videos is the large number of older adults and elderly who have to be suffering from long Covid. There has to be a lot of them, but they never show up on these things. We have to move this conversation beyond people simply getting back to work and production value to one of well being for everyone. As in most things the elderly and those beyond their work production years are invisible.
