  • There is so much wrong with this piece. So much. Most notably the omission that Kurt wanted Pat because of his work with legendary band The Germs, not because of Courtney Love's recommendation.

  • Pat was a great fit for both bands

  • Pat Smear is the reason I got into Hagstrom guitars. I hope to get his signature model at some point

  • Never heard anyone say anything bad about Pat. It’s unanimous, he’s legit!

  • In 1996 I was doing security at Hollywood Palladium outside of the parking lot and Foo Fighters we're playing that night and a cab pulls up and Pat Smear comes out. What a moment I will never forget

  • Pat Smear is an amazing guitar player. Kurt heard Pat's solo album from 1992 "So You Fell In Love with a Musician" and quickly offered him the job. Go check it out if any of you are interested.

  • "But most of them were junkies. He's still alive?? I met Pat smear. When I was living in Los Angeles. And instantly fell in love with him very rarely do I meet someone that I like so much right away."

  • Pat Smear is the coolest person on earth. Dave Grohl said so and it’s the truth.

  • I saw them with Pat twice and the sound was great.

  • I went to the Foo Fighters's concert in Riga, Latvia almost in the first line. Then I saw Pat Smears, the happiest person that I have seen on any stage in any concert. Such a vibe that he was transmitting I have seen in no one else. Since then I have been one of his biggest fans not only for his way of playing but for his way of being!

  • The “Don’t Speak” video was after Cobain died.

  • A at teenager when Smear joined I knew nothing about where he came from, or his history, but he fit on right away. He seemed to be a perfect fit for the band.

  • I grew up playing on the same circuit with Pat. We played with the Germs more than any other band at that time. So awesome to see how far he's come! ❤️🦠

  • I met Pat after a Foo Fighters show in 1995. He was super nice, and was wearing green sparkle nail polish. 😊

  • Pat’s guitar riffs in the Germs were unique and outstanding. As in Nirvana and the Foo’s, I can often hardly recognize the sound of his guitar, tho…

    @haniwa3276@haniwa3276
  • When Pat first joined Nirvana I saw it as a maturation of the band and I remember always enjoying his short time with them, mainly in the MTV Unplugged set and the 1993 New Year's Eve concert. Rock on.
