Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. Unlike a lot of singers Dimash never stops learning or practicing. He's not found a genre and thought "this suits my voice, I'll stay in this area" He finds all music interesting and challenging and just when you think you've heard all he can do he'll surprise you with something new that he's currently focused on. He's the Da Vinci of music, always pushing the boundaries with no limitations beyond his own imagination.

It wasn't that he got disqualified for not disguising his voice. The Dears in the audience recognised him as soon as he stepped on stage and started screaming his name. He did start by disguising his voice but realised it was pointless. He wasn't disqualified, they just decided to treat his appearance as a guest appearance rather than a proper competitor.

Dimash is from Kazakhstan. The Kazakh people are majority descended from Turkish nomads with a sizable minority of Slavic people. So they tend to have elements of middle eastern culture, like the goat trill (there’s other names for it) type of singing technique. They also incorporate some Slavic culture as well. This is also why he speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh.
The section that gave you chills was a tribute to a member of the band who had passed away.

Originally the song Sinful Passion was written and performed by a very popular pop music group, A-Studio. A Russian-based Kazakh band. Dimash is doing a cover . The piano player here, is an original member of the band. “Sinful Passion” ("Greshnaya Strast” in Russian) was first time performed by the band in 1998.Batyrkhan Kamaluly Shukenov was a singer, musician, composer, and poet. After leaving the group in 2000, Batyrkhan began his solo career. . Unfortunately Batyrkhan Shukenov died at age 52 from a heart attack. I have read the lament (similar to a muslim call to prayer ) Dimash added to the piece is in honour/ memory of him.
