  • 9:29 All fresnel lenses do this. Same kind of lenses used in VR, and those streaks are called 'god rays', because in VR they seem to come at you out of infinity. They've been making these screen magnifiers for this purpose since the black and white TV days. And they were never great... because the lens was designed for lighthouses, not TVs.

  • Those magnifiers do have grooves in them. Those are fresnel lenses, they use a series of concentric grooves in a circular fashion to create magnification.

    @HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks@HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks3 жыл бұрын
    • Fresnel lenses are concentric rings of the parts of different sized magnifying lenses that provide the most magnification. Lighthouses often use a variation of them.

  • The screen magnifier (love the wooden look) is a Fresnel lens - you're right, these are grooves. It's basically the outside curve of a normal lens, broken into sections and laid out on a flat surface - they can be really powerful (as in burn wood in seconds with the right one).

    @ivanpetrov5255@ivanpetrov52553 жыл бұрын
  • Man, that Pocket Tripod looks really versatile. The price is kinda high, but it does seem to reflect on the build quality and versatility. I assume it'd be much cheaper if it didn't include all those adapters. But then again you might have to buy a new one when changing phones, or for other devices, like tablets.

I actually got them for an Oculus which I only kept for a short time because If I moved too far from my battery pack it just pulls loose instead of yanking things around or breaking them, but I use them with all my devices now.

      @HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks@HadToChangeMyName_YoutubeSucks3 жыл бұрын

  • I really like the magnetic port idea. My phone's port always seems to fill up with pocket lint after a few months and then the cable doesn't fit right and it doesn't charge fully sometimes... Then I have to pick it out with a needle and that's just not safe for the phone. Plus I have an old-school headphone jack on my phone.

    @JC-fj7oo@JC-fj7oo3 жыл бұрын
    • I was going to say that these cables would be far more useful for phones with headphone jacks. I hate that new phones are taking those out.

  • I'd probably buy the iflex if we weren't in a pandemic. I can imagine a lot of situations where I'd use that for my phone or camera. Being able to store it flat in a bag is a nice feature. Maybe it would be nice if it also had two holes on the top corners, so you can tie or clip it onto something.

  • Good morning Mr. White. My name is Mary. I'm a big fan of your channel. Whenever I make a purchase, I always watch you (when applicable) & read CR reviews. I do have the Dizaul magnifier that is bamboo. I have loved it. I use it mainly in my kitchen for recipes (phone & books), as well as KZhead videos. Flat surface works best for the magnification. I have found that you are able to adjust the screen to accommodate for a better view. One drawback, the the kitchen can get a bit "oily/greasy" causing my phone to slip. Doesn't happen often so it's not a bad problem. The bright side is that a little warm, soapy water cleans this product up quickly. (Dawn + Microfiber towel is best). My eyes aren't what they used to be so this was my favorite & cheapest alternative. No Medical Insurance = no eye doctor. Have a fantastic day & I hope my input helped. Thank you so very much for what you do.

  • About 9 months ago I bought one of the magnetic charging cables and I'll never go back to using the traditional ones. I keep a silicone case on my phone and I did have to use a rotary tool to make the charging port opening larger to fit the connector. But once that was done, the hard work was over. The convenience of connecting it in the dark because of the LED light is awesome. Mine didn't come with a stiff cable that tangles like yours. Because the cable is so flexible, there's less chance that the wires inside will short out over time (through repeated flexing). Also, because you don't pull the cable in and out of the charging port over and over again, there's less chance that's the cable ends or your charging port will wear out Highly recommended!

On the magnetic charging cables, I have a couple of them myself, the entire cable lights up kind of has the affect of seeing the charge going into the phone, one is blue and one is red. They do work great however, if you need your phone a certain way, you need a little extra cable away from the phone or it will kind of bend the magnetic parts apart. You need approx. an inch or so to make the cable stay straight away from the phone to prevent that from happening.

  • I've had a few magnetic charging cables and none of them charged very quickly at all. It might be worth investing in some device to measure current at the USB port for testing cables like this so you can be sure they actually charge at a reasonable rate

  • I've had the Iflex for over a year now. Pretty cool gadget. The magnetic cables are awesome, the only issue i had was it's a slow charge when it claims it's a fast charge. It was useless because why have a charger that's gonna take 3 hours to charge my phone?

  • I have a magnetic phone charging cable 6 feet) that had the three tip I love using it. It is great to use in the car. I have literally destroyed cords and car chargers thinking I unplugged the phone and had not then try leaving the car. With the magnetic cord, the cord disconnects without damage. The tip will prevent dust or lint from getting into the sort when left in. My LG has a separate port for earbuds, but for those who don't. It can be a negative in the use of the magnetic charger.

  • The iFlex reminds me of my adjustable splints in my trauma bag. And all magnifying glasses using the Fresnel lens technology will give you the concentric grooved circles. They are not really great at magnifying clearly at a distance.

  • Not a bad mix. My hubby has a 3d printer, so my phone holder is custom made!! We also got those magnified chargers, but found the same issue with needing to take the little tiny adapter out. In fact, I can't find mine. Lol. Just a tip... hope this doesn't embarrass us, but for those little tents on your shoulders in your shirt... just dab a cloth with water and dampen them to they disappear, I think it's called hanger dimples in shirts...lol. Was very appreciative to someone who pointed mine out and told me how to get rid of them! Smiles and blessings...

  • I actually watched this video thru my phone magnifier (different brand) but same thing. I found that if you cover the sides it cuts the glare. I've turned mine into a sort of box and the picture is more clear. And on that last one it seems like to much trouble, I did like the iFlex though.👍

  • I was Introduced to the magnetic charger last week by my boyfriend. He likes it a lot since he works in a very dusty environment so the charger bit helps his charging port to not become compacted with dust.

  • I love my magnetic charger cords! Pros: No more flipping the cord to make sure it goes in the correct way. One handed connection. Most times I just aim the phone at the cord and it connects itself. No more tripping on the cord and breaking the port. It just unconnects with no damage. No more plugging my phone in at night (or anytime) only to realize the cord wasn't plugged in and my phone is not charged. Since it's lit you know if it's plugged in or not. Plus it helps to find the cord end in the dark.

  • Nice. Out of all of these I may check out the magnetic charging cable. I actually had to have my phone replaced a few months back because the charging port went bad and I could only charge it wirelessly. I have my airpods in 90% of the time and don't use the charging port for anything else. I think it would really save on wear and tear if your port if you could leave it in there. I have wireless chargers too, but always have to remove my phone cases to use them, so this seems like a nice compromise. Thanks for sharing!

  • I bought the infinity magnetic cable for my iPhone 12. It has worked great and the cable is short but really sturdy. I also use a magnetic cable fo my husband’s iPhone se. Enjoy these and they keep the ports clean

  • I bought the magnetic phone charger cables for my kids' tablets and they've held up for a year now. But it is definitely good to have extra magnetic pieces just in case they get lost.

  • I’m curious if the phone holder gadget that you reviewed last (Pocket Tripod Pro) would work for an iPad as well. I seem to always struggle with the angle with every case/stand I try.

  • 4:30 i bought a set of those. my phone said it was gonna take over 6 hours to charge and i dont even think it was below 10 percent battery. if you use a case you have to remove the case just to get the plug out of the charging port since sometimes you want your phone charged in an hour and half not over 6. needless to say the cables sit in a drawer never used.

  • I got the screen magnifier, one for me and each of my kids. I had to glue the little black dot back on after a couple of uses. And I find the screen doesn't stay put anyway. You should be able to adjust the angle with that black dot but it doesn't hold. I give it a 5/10
