Junior Fa has walked away from boxing just weeks out from a bout with Arslanbek Makhmudov, with several factors behind his decision to quit the sport - including that he couldn't justify hurting people for money anymore.

Maybe Junior, like a lot of kids, was trying to please his dad. Since his passing maybe Junior is making decisions solely for himself. Good luck to him.
Good luck to Junior Fa with his new life.
Fair enough, I'd rather this than him getting wrecked for nothing, he's got a life to live. ''The graveyards are full of middling swordsmen. Best not to be a swordsman at all than a middling swordsman.''
Strong name to quote ratio. HBO show all day.
seems like a nice guy. Had reached his level. Good decision.
Fair play to the guy, not endangering himself for money when he doesn't want to or need to, good luck Junior
He's had an epiphany. Once your mind has made that mental "break" or snap from the reality that you've known, it's difficult to go back to the same map of life's journey.
Spoke to Junior briefly and hes a super nice guy. Hope he finds success elsewhere.
Good on him those loses against Browne and Sanchez were ugly. He was going to become a punching bag.
He was already.
He already was
He already was
That Lucas Browne knockout started it .. that knockout was wicked!
Peace and blessings to Fa and his family.
👍🏽🥊🔲 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙂🫡 Salute to Junior Fa. Thanks for the fights & for repping for Autism. Always been a good respectful person, can't wish the man nothing but the best in his next chapter in life after boxing 🥊👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙂👍🏽 SUBSCRIBE, SHARE & SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON PLEASE FOLKS 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Best move for him. Just never seemed like he was built for the sport..... Fair play knowing that it's not for him and bowing out before he gets hurt
Good for him. Can't hate on his decision....good luck to him!
"I couldn’t hurt anyone anymore" - that’s actually a damn good reason to quit. Looking at his KO% he never could
Yes if you are such a flange you can’t justify eating any meat products, then there is no way you can justify hurting another man to make money. 😂
Lol
Not built for it
Oh good, the teenbrain shows up. You won't understand this and will get all cvnty instead but Junior Fa hurts the hell out of people round after round (ask them, they'll assure you) and he hurts the hell out of his opponents in his 3 losses)
@@jonathandewberry289it was just a joke man.
Good on him. Tough sport and if your head and heart aren't in the game then he has done the right thing. Otherwise. pain will be all he would have known if he had continued on.
I like Fa. So good for him .. his youtube channel was quiet for some time.
bro got hit so hard he started re thinking life choices
Pretty good reasoning.
After Browne and Sanchez both knocked him senseless then I reckon that's what it is.
go back to MMA
Yeah and you'd be in the grave it you got hit with those be respectful bro boxing ain't no joke
Well done junior Fa. You have done us kiwis proud brother. Best of luck 👊
At least he is doing it now. And not hanging on too far, and something bad happens
Good move. I think he should have quit after the Browne loss, looked like he had some kind of a minor seizure when he was dropped.
Top man! Good on you. At your best you kept Joe Parker honest!
Easy to understand, wish the guy and his family a great life.
He's doing the right thing. It's very bizarre to live a professional life that way. go to work and find ways to hurt people. In amateur boxing he can see it differently where 'tag' is far more the objective (at least, it has been) and maybe early pro where fights can get stopped sooner and so on until you start seeing what happens to Lucas Browne, Makmudov, Fa at a level where they are taking life-threatening shots, they are so evenly matched that nobody goes quickly and both get brutally hammered.
Very insightful and credit to him for standing on his principles rather than just fighting for a paycheck
Mark de Mori ready to step in
He's not exactly known as a boxer who "Hurts people"...
I hope the guy finds a new path that he enjoys, fighting is a wild thing and takes a special kind of person to be able to deal with the consequences.
He's a smart guy, good luck to him, he still sounds healthy 👍
Good for him man. Get out and Keep your faculties when you can. Lots more to life.
I was thinking he should retire after his last two losses. His reaction to getting hurt was indicative of serious neurological damage imo. Would only get worse. Great decision long term
Seems like a nice dude. But never had the offensive weapons of Parker to really hurt the better fighters and is only half as durable. Im happy for him. Where would be rank in terms of NZ HWs? Ive got him 4th? Behind 1. Tua 2. Parker 3. Cameron 4. Fa?
was surprised when I saw he had quit yesterday
0:40 Obi Wan Kenobi - *That's...why im here*
Vegan??!! God I hope not.
It was a play on words.. saying he's not hungry anymore meat
Friggin’ newspapers!😂 That’s an awful headline!! Good call and good luck Junior!!👊🏻
Love you Junior ❤
Honestly, if Junior hadn't suffered severe knockouts in his last two fights, he might have continued. But the talk about not wanting to train to hurt someone and avoiding violence would have been more credible if he had quit after a win or if he had injured someone. However, he made the right call to retire due to health concerns. Further blows to the head would have been extremely risky, given the toll his last two fights took on him. Retiring is a wise decision for him to prioritize his health and well being, and there's no shame in that.
Dont give up uso come back boxing you steel your uso good money for your family training hard and looking forward for another fight good luck uso
Best win was against Parker but got robbed that night, and im Samoan.Lol.Took browne too lightly and I always wondered about his trainers. Good luck Always blessed cos you're always humble,❤️❤️❤️
I respect his decision and his reasoning. Wish him well.
Good for him. I like Fa.. Seems like a rally nice bloke as well from what I saw on his YT channel. I hope he does well away from boxing
All the best mate ❤ if there is no fire for it inside you anymore, you have to quit, either way you can get seriously hurt - I think Mike Tyson said it and it's true ♥️
Combat sports is hard. You lose a lot of t when you lose. The hardest part is getting back up
All good, we don't need to see someone cosplaying punching bag in boxing.
Yeah good decision by Jr Fa, i had a feeling he was going to get hurt as the away fighter gainst Makmudhov. Fa is a well spoken guy and could be a boxing TV commentator or analyst, but if not into boxing anymore thats not for him...good luck for the future in whatever he choose to do.
Violence unfortunately is part of being a human , always has been , always will be
Respect to this decision. Can't help to draw a parallel to Wilders apparent change of attitude to boxing in recent years.
Yes but i doubt he is a vegan and i know he has not had 5 booster shots. He is a little brighter than that.
So who should make fight? He needs a mover to work on his footwork so maybe Bryant Jennings? Or see if vianello wants a quick turn around
Better to get out now having collected a couple cheques then to fight on with no fight left... Good on junior
Good decision. He hasn’t looked interested in the ring this last year. Good luck to him.
Two hard KOs Enough to call it a day Would have liked to see Makh back in the ring Jared Anderson will hang up the gloves next
I would not want to fight Makhmudov either. Smart choice. Seems like a cool guy. Good luck Fa. 🎉
I don't know. I take, Fa could cope with the makhmudov that lost to the turk from Germany?
Just couldn’t do much past a certain level.
Tbh...There is no way he would be talking like this had knocked out Lucas brown and Sanchez. The starting point of this realization that he wasnt as good as he thought he was, is when he got kod by oldman browne. Getting knocked by Sanchez just confirmed it. Good on him though cause i agree with him in the sense that boxing is the hurt game, and it aint fir everybody. Good luck for the future Toko.
This will be hyped up by the Magmodov camp in the same way that Ajagba’s camp hyped up the guy walking out of the ring 😂 Good luck to Junior Fa. Achieved a good amount and shared the ring with some top fighters.
He’ll be back!
Tbh I think the real reason he quit boxing is because he realises he doesn't have what it takes to fight at a high level. The money wasn't worth the playoff and the risk and reward just wasn't there... Maybe I'm wrong but even if I'm right, there's nothing to be ashamed of. Anyone who trains and gets in the ring deserves the upmost respect.
All the best to him.
and people say frank sanchez can't punch hard.
Lol
Also lol
Lucas Browne was the one that had him questioning his will, Frank Sanchez was just the one to confirm it
There was always something missing with Fa and this expains it.
After that lbrown beating don't blame him
Good decision
I support him quitting, but I wish he would be honest about it. Him not wanting to inflict violence on someone is obviously bs. He quit because he realized he wasn't good enough and didn't want to be knocked senseless for a living without ever reaching those big paydays. Fair play to him and best of luck going forward.
That Saudi money was his retirement money. I’m happy he made some money out of boxing
👍😊
Rated guy 1love
Good luck to him
What’s the context? Manager dispute? Promoter dispute? Personal problems? He’s a decent fighter. Definitely not to do with being vegan 😂😂
Sounds like a general identity crises
@@BoxingSquaredwe wish him well. God bless
The youtube algorithm wouldn’t want you criticising Veganism…so it’s definitely nothing to do with him being vegan. That he has lost his mind and lost the plot, just at the same time as he became vegan. Complete coincidence.
He be changing his sexuality next..
Doesn't want to hurt anyone or doesn't want to get koed. Maybe he'll come back against a fighter he can beat
Should have made decent money and can retire with his brain
Maybe dave allen or dylan whyte caled step in
if junior fa was making alot of money in boxing, ranked in the top 1o etc... he wouldnt be quiting, its finally dawned on him hes not good enough to make any real money in boxing or beat any top guy,so hes quiting, end of
I don't totally buy this reasoning. He's probably concerned with himself getting hurt, but is likely too prideful to be honest. It's just interesting that he would say he doesn't want to hurt people after he lost by stoppage in his last fight, and his next fight was gonna be against a heavy puncher who would've likely stopped him. If Fa were undefeated would he be leaving the sport? I doubt it.
I think him going vegan has messed up his hormones and caused him to become a flange. Was probably instrumental in his last two losses as well. Human beings aren’t built to exist on plants alone.
Boxing squared when you go vegan you see every thing differently especially violence against human and non human animals so kind of makes sense why he gave it up, no doubt there were other factors to. Cheers mate.
Just from the actual story itself, what he and his manager said, it was predominantly about other things in his life that changed his perspective on a lot of things
@@BoxingSquaredthanks for the reply mate like your work and been a subscriber for a while now cheers.

Thank you for watching and supporting the channel, I appreciate it
Take this last fight and carry on boxing .everyone's gets knocked out in boxing .get up son eat dat beefcake .u win sum u learn sum
He got beat by everyone so he had to quit.
Good. Now It's time for Derek Chisora to retire
Maybe he can get a job doing local color commentary
He’s applied to join the Police
have whyte, joyce or hughie step in
At three weeks’ notice? Never happen, and they couldn’t afford Whyte or Joyce
@@BoxingSquared All three come off a recent win so each should be in shape plus Hughie and Whyte exressed they want to be out again soon.
@@BoxingSquaredhighie fury would take it in heart beat that's a fact he fighting tomorrow that's his second fight in 3 weeks he's looking to stay active and as many fights as possible this year, hughie and peter would bite the hand off for the fight
😂😂😂😂😂
Whatever you do don’t mention the negative affects of veganism on a boxer, otherwise free speech boy will be deleting your comment like a flash. David Haye was reduced to a pathetic eyesore once he took up veganism.
??? I don’t care if people are vegan or not. In the context of what was in the story/statements, mentioning turning vegan in the head line was over the top.
Lol Soy boy.....Literally
He was average at best
Fa is full of shit. He got beat, he found his level and lost his motivation to carry on. Get real mate.
Vegan for the animals? Respect to Junior, whether he keeps boxing or quits for good! 💪🏻
Quit because he’s a bum
Makhmudov is still better than Chaney unless you rate King pastry Bryan.
This is a bit of a random comment on a Fa retirement video
